Nice Log Home

  • 3 of 5

Nestled in mountains in a real private location. If it wasn't for neighbors on the other side of the road, I would never have found the house. Called owners upon departure but never received return call. Internet connectivity is ridiculous and needs repair. TV local channels are a rude awakening from satellite/cable TV channels. Huge living room, but the small TV viewed from a couch 25' away is less than desirable. House was clean and all appliance worked. Not ideal for adults seeking 2 bedrooms. At night the outside is not lit up with motion detector so negotiating entrance could be a safety factor. I would not consider staying here again. Sorry.....

Owner's Response: Thanks for your comments. As noted it is a private location and not readily visible from the main road. I try to give easy to follow directions and so far have not had a problem. GPS is not reliable. If arriving after dark, I recommend meeting at an outside location and letting me lead them to the home. When you call at departure my family and I were at church. Sorry I could not make a return call. Being a remote area and at the end of the line I am fortunate to have any internet at all but as a convenience I have provided the best available. Again being a cabin in a remote area television is not always a priority, but it is available, albeit limited. The listing will be changed to reflect this. We do have motion detectors, however they sometime accidentally get turned off. We always leave an interior light on for arriving guests. If I had known you were dissatisfied upon arrival, I would have been glad to refund your money. We strive to make our home comfortable, clean, restful and enjoyable.

Mountain Fun

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay! The cabin was nice and well equipped with everything we needed to feel at home.( The only downside was no cell phone service, however there was a home phone and internet available) We arrived after dark and the kind owner met us at an interstate exit to show us the way to the cabin which was greatly appreciated.

This was a great property

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful place to stay if you want peace, quiet and beauty. The cottage was beautiful and very comfortable. We have absolutely no complaint about the cottage. We knew ahead of time that there was no cell phone service but there was internet but the internet was very slow. Since I have an international intercessory prayer ministry in which I contact people every weekday, it was not suitable. We did go into town and use the Wi-Fi at a coffee shop, For us that was a minor inconvenience. The drive back and forth to town was very relaxing. I would recommend this cottage to people who want to get away from it all, relax in a beautiful place, and have peace and quiet.

very peaceful

  • 5 of 5

The house is very nice. Very clean. Really quiet! The only sounds are the birds and the occasional neighbor's dog barking. We only turned TV on once and it shut off a few minutes later.( But ,we aren't too big on TV, anyway.) Lack of cell phone service was fine. Our friends and family were given the house number and they simply called daily to check up. .. I think a little table on the front porch would be nice. I was out there every morning , drinking my tea, And some books would be nice.( I left some magazines behind for the next person.)...Another suggestion would be a journal for the visitors. Most rentals have a book people can write down nice restaurants they've found or other places they have discovered for the next renter...And beware of the creaking! The house creaks as if someone is upstairs walking around. I was there alone the first night and I was a wreck! But, the place is very nice. You can get away from it all, but still be close to civilization.

Love this Cabin!!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed this perfect, secluded, mountain cabin. It was clean, fully stocked, nicely decorated, and had comfortable beds. The kids really enjoyed the large yard and playing in the river. So much better than a hotel! Thank you for sharing your cabin with us! We will be sure to reserve it again the next time we are in town.
