Papagayo village offers a slice of costa rican living unlike that offered at the big impersonal resorts. The property consists of a gated community of six rental villas providing from one to eight bedrooms, depending on the needs of your family or group. Papagayo village is a great tropical/beach venue for family vacations, wedding parties, family reunions, and no stress get-aways. Many of our guests are exploring the possibilities of re-locating to costa rica and stay from 2 weeks to 2 months. We provide a special "stay and play" package for those considering investing in costa rica. All the casitas are furnished and the kitchens fully equipped. We have excellent wi-fi throughout the village. Each casita comes with a large covered lanai to maximize outdoor living. We are confident you will have a great experience swimming in the 90 degree pool, picking fruit in the tropical garden, taking a siesta in one of many available hammocks, strolling the beach, barbequing poolside or watching a movie in our outdoor theater. We are an easy 10 minute walk to the best beach on the north coast. The owner lives on site and is available to assist with planning your adventures while in costa rica.

About Allen Cudahy
Allen grew up on the shores of Puget Sound as a third generation native of Washington State, USA. Quite the sports enthusiast, Allen particularly enjoys playing tennis and golf. Allen graduated from California Lutheran University and Luther Seminary in St Paul, MN. He had served for 20 years as senior minister of the rapidly growing First Lutheran Community Church in Port Orchard, Washington.
Allen Cudahy purchased this Villa in 2010
Why Allen Cudahy chose Playa Hermosa
As one of the proprietors of Papagayo Village, Pastor Allen uses his considerable experience to facilitate and lead conferences, retreats, continuing education events, leadership groups, personal sabbaticals, weddings, renewals on the beach, marriage encounter, and volunteer and youth service trips. But what brings the pura vida to his new Costa Rican lifestyle is that he gets to show his guests to his favorite beaches and local hang outs as well as leading high adventure excursions into one of Gods most amazing natural wonderlands. Allen is married to the love of his life, Stefany Coronado, and they reside in the Village. Allen also stays busy pastoring Celebration Community Church in Playa Hermosa.
What makes this Villa unique
Numerous beaches within minutes drive… and we have some secret favorites Monkey sightings are very common No alarm clocks necessary as howler monkeys and birds will wake you up in the morning hours Centralized swimming pool available all day and night (we don't limit the hours like hotels) Community barbecue (can be used to cook up the fish you catch that same day) Our own private well with clean, fresh water right out of the tap; no need for bottled water The friendliest staff in all of Costa Rica featuring Carmen (housekeeper) and Victor (gardener) 80% our clientele are returning guests… think about that! Owner and his family live on site in one of the 7 casitas (Allen, Stefany, and Emily) The Village has her own boat, Ms Meghan, and we would love to take you fishing. Perfect for groups or multi-family events with both private and group gathering options. Hammocks for siestas Some casitas have roof top terraces Patios abound

Allen is a great guy and really helpful. Awesome pool.
Nice little condo
Only there for a night but liked it. Long walk to the beach. Allen is very nice, like the swimming pool.
Perfect Getaway Spot.
The place was better than expected. The pictures here don't do justice to the beauty of the place.
It is quiet, private, cozy and serene. It is near to shopping and within walking distance to the beach.
Allen is awesome. He was willing to drop me off at the airport when I couldn't reach my taxi driver.
The caretaker too was very nice. We enjoyed our short stay and wouldn't hesitate to come back here.
The Village of Friendship
My husband & I had a wonderful time staying at Papagaya Village! We are in our late fifties & like to walk the beach or hang out & have a few (or more) beers! Karaoke is a big blast, you meet so many people, not just people from The Village, but ex-pats from around the area. Allen's Sunday service makes you thoughtful, serene & closer to God than any church or mass environment I've ever been in before. The atmosphere is definitely laid back, relaxed & the pool never closes! Many of the people we met during our 75 day stay we plan to hook up with again next year, along with us driving to Canada this summer to hook up with some of them. The town of Coco is a short taxi ride away to many restaurants, bars, grocery stores & of course another beach! From The Village you can walk to a small grocery store, the beach, bars, restaurants, and there is even a movie house next door! Carmen keeps your casita clean, Jose keeps the gardens & pool clean, and Allen & his lovely wife Stefy will tell you about other points of interest or take you out fishing. This is not a big fancy hotel like the Radisson or Hilton with the little shampoo & conditioner bottles but a down to earth, comfortable, clean, friendly environment that rocks on karaoke night & then some! We will be back as we are now 'Village People'!!!
Just what we needed
We so much enjoyed our first trip to Costa Rica--and staying at Papagayo Village worked out great for us. Allen was friendly and accommodating, and was easy to communicate with during our stay and before our arrival. We loved the pool! It is HOT, so having A/C in the bedrooms was a life-saver. Without our own rental car, we were able to walk to the beach, to the little grocery store, the Sandbar restaurant, and to a movie theater. A car is needed for trips to Coco (and other areas)--larger grocery store, more restaurants, activities, shopping, etc.
Would love to come back again!!
Best value in town!
