About this property

Newly Restored Traditional 19thc luxury farmhouse with pool. Suit large groups.

On the doorstep of the historic village of Castiglione Tinella, equidistant between Alba and Asti, Cascina La Galeisa is a lovingly restored farmhouse with a fully equiped gourmet kitchen, quality amenities sleeping up to 12 people, fully fenced luxury pool, garden and stunning views.

Think Michelin star restaurants, Barolo and Barbaresco, white truffles, local osteria's, walking trails and cycling amidst Unesco heritage landscape.

From the moment you step through the wrought iron gates of the courtyard you can feel Galeisa is a peaceful place to stay. Rescued from ruins, this beautiful farmhouse was all but abandoned until the new owners found and purchased it in 2013. Now it's rooms echo with fun, food, wine and life once again.

Enter into the gourmet kitchen with large island bench, ascot double oven, huge double door fridge and freezer, dishwasher, and all essential kitchen appliances. The adjacent dining room is dominated by an antique 12 seat dining table, 18th century French sideboard and a stunning open fireplace for cosy winter evenings. The original cantina abutts the dining room; partitioned by an impressive glass panelled wall.

The ground floor also comprises the living room and library, both with french door access to the terrace, with views across the Moscato vineyards to the historical town of Nieve and the Barbaresco tower. On a clear day you can see all the way to the Italian alps.

Ascending the original stunning staircase the lower mezzanine level bedroom includes a queen size bed, beautiful Victoria & Albert bath and a gorgeous shower ensuite.

The upper mezzanine level bedroom contains a king size bed, ensuite shower bathroom and commanding views of the rolling Langhe hills and vineyards.

The top floor of the farmhouse consists of four bedrooms, one with two single beds and the remaining rooms with king size beds. All bedrooms have shower ensuites, with one bathroom including a Victoria & Albert claw-foot bath. The magnificient exposed oak beam ceilings highlight the spaciousness and character of this fine home.

TV's are located in the living room and one of the top floor bedrooms, wi-fi throughout, DVD and stereo, washing machine, dryer, timber floors in all six bedrooms, traditional cotto tiles and stylish small ceramic tiles on the ground floor, sumptious couches and antique furniture combine to make this a truly special place to stay.

The garden offers a brand new pool with surrounding area for lounging, a grapevine covered BBQ area for long summer lunches, delightful planted areas with herbs and flowers as well as the welcome extention of being able to stroll through the vines at any time!

Galeisa offers peace and privacy with all modern comforts.

Minimum 5 day rental, however we are happy to take inquiries on shorter stays. Linen provided. Cleaning fee of EUR 300 payable. Additional cleaning services can be provided during stay at extra cost.

Idyllic stay with the family
This property is nothing short of incredible. The house is hundreds of years old and the owners restored it to a modern, comfortable, stunning home without losing it's character. There are six huge bedrooms all with ensuite baths, a huge modern kitchen, stately dining room and two family rooms. There is a beautiful backyard with picturesque views of the vineyard covered country side, outdoor dining area and a pool. Everything was immaculate and in perfect working order. The two property managers met us there to help us get acclimated to the house, arranged multiple meals out and also answered many questions leading up to the stay. We've stayed in many homes and I honestly have to say that this stay was an absolute dream. Amazing!

Wonderful Piedmonte villa with spectacular view of The Alps
Our one week stay at the villa during Christmas exceeded our expectations. The well appointed bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom were finished beautifully and accommodated our family well. We felt very much at home and welcomed in the warmth and beauty of the villa. Many thanks to Franco for providing dining recommendations and helping to maximize our experience. The location of the villa is absolutely fantastic and accessible to explore all Piedmonte has to offer. The brilliant sunset each evening behind the snow capped Alps was an unforgettable close to each day. Looking forward to a future stay. Thank you Nathan and Kim for hosting us at your lovely villa.

Beautiful home in a beautiful setting! A chef's dream!
I stayed at the villa in August with friends, a beautiful home, very spacious, spectacular view. The house is secluded but you're just a 10-15min drive from the villa. It is a great place to hop about the Langhe region - we spent our mornings scouring the markets and cooking up a storm in the villa's chef style kitchen. The property managers, Claudia & Franco, were super helpful both with local tips and with the home.

Kim and Nathan live in Melbourne, Australia. They first saw Galeisa for sale on-line and in 2012 they visited Piedmont to view the property. The property was in a deralict state, but with the dedicated help of their wonderful architects (GAP Studio, Asti) they have managed to restore the property into a stunning farmhouse.
