Both still young at heart, retirees who don't know when to stop. We both enjoy hosting and meeting people.
Owner purchased this Apartment in 2015
Why Owner chose Waipawa
We bought this property as a project. It had intrigued us for some time so when it came up for tender we decided to buy it and save it. Being an old building (1882) originally a Masonic Lodge, then a Lions hall, followed by a church, the maintenance had become too high. It has taken many hours of work to turn it into a home and still has many more to go. In the process we saw the opportunity to share our home and the local amenities with visitors to Central Hawkes Bay.
What makes this Apartment unique
The unique façade of the building attracted us first but it wasn't until we entered the main hall we were totally sure buying it was the right thing to do. And all that space!

A quaint and great stay!
My friends and I stayed here for 3 nights over Easter. The hosts were very lovely and welcoming. We found the place tidy and clean and very spacious. The cooked breakfast in the morning was such a delight and set us up well for our days exploring the Hawkes Bay region.
Kelly and friends were a pleasure to have in our home .Come again next time you're up this way. Angela & Colin.
Boutique Accomodation in Central Hawkes Bay
The location is a solid 30min drive from Napier and the town itself is very small. It’s sad to see so many of the original buildings now empty which is why it’s great this couple are restoring a Masonic Lodge.
The accomodation itself is on a quiet street, is very clean, has lots of character and is perfect for a couple or a couple with a small child (under 10)
The space is at the front of the lodge and is reasonably well separated from the owners who live in the back of the house.
The breakfast was generous and delicious - perfectly cooked bacon and eggs, delicious jam and yoghurt.
Overall couldn’t fault our stay.
Renee. Thank you for your kind review. You and your Dad were a pleasure to have. So quiet we didn't know you were here. Glad you enjoyed breakfast and hope you had a safe journey home. Welcome back anytime. A&C.
