The Perfect Get Away

  • 5 of 5

My family absolutely loved this house (condo). It was so clean and had everything we needed plus some. The space itself was perfect for my family. When you first open the doors to the beach it takes your breath away. We watch the dauphins breach the water everyday all day long. My husband fished right out the back door. The girls (7 & 16) were never bored. The kitchen is great size and easy to work in. Location is great also. Close to everything yet, secluded. The best part was having my dog Stella with us. The porch being screened in was a huge plus! Great setup and I would highly recommend this home! Till next year SGI!

St George Island Stay

Very nice place. Could walk right to the beach. The kids loved the beach. My 16 yr old wished there was more teenagers but I think it was perfect. Food places was in walking distance. Would go again.

Top Notch

  • 5 of 5

This home was perfect for a small last minute getaway . The house is super clean inside. My wife and I enjoyed this place and the walk to the beach was just a few steps away. We wished we could have stayed longer.

Perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

Great location on the beach with private boardwalk through the sea oats and dunes with feet/fish cleaning station midway. Great outdoor area with your choice of: an open deck with part of the deck raised and uncovered and part covered. Nice edge to surrounding deck to prop your feet upon and/or drinks; Roomy screened in porch (screens intact and screen door intact and functioning). 1 lounger, 5 comfortable outdoor chairs, 2 outdoor tables (plus additional portable loungers for beach left by previous renters (?) along with beach umbrellas); Hooks on posts that you can attach a portable hammock (E.N.O.-we always carry 1 or 2 with us on trips) to. Perfect way to relax and nap-listening to the waves break on the shore if you own a hammock. You will be able to view both sunrises and sunsets from this location when on the beach. As previously commented on, closer to beach than appears in photo. Now for the inside: VERY CLEAN! No musty or unpleasant odors. Great water/shower pressure. Kitchen very well stocked with appliances/utensils/pans and large nice counter with drop down bar edge with seating. Open concept to living area with views of the beach through the screened in porch. You are able to open French doors to screened in area for full effect and sounds of beach. Comfortable beachy layout and decor. The bed we used was reasonably comfortable (can't speak for other 2) As said previously: curb appeal lacking but you are there for the BEACH, not the street side so when you drive up, put your concerns to rest, you won't be disappointed. Mr. Hunter was very amicable and the renting process and checkout was the easiest we have encountered from a VRBO. We would stay here again. We had the beach to ourselves and the other 3 condo units were empty during our stay, so we had a very peaceful and restful vacation. Our small golden doodle Annie, had the best vacation with us she has had yet. Since the beach is dog friendly and she is well trained enough to be off leash,

we only leashed her when others walked by or came near us, for their peace of mind, (This happened rarely as most of the time we had the area to ourselves, enabling her to run and play freely). Thank you for a great stay!

Right on the water!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay here. The unit is on the ground floor, of a four-unit building but it feels very private. Even though it is an older unit, the living area is very open and bright, and the screened in porch and deck going down to the beach were great. We brought our two small dogs and they settled right in and loved walks on the beach. Having only one step here and there was helpful for us in the older generation! However, the shower is in the tub, and that might not work for someone truly disabled as compared to a walk in shower. The kitchen was well equipped and there is a small washer and dryer unit off the kitchen. It was very clean and well maintained.

One note -- AC is window units and heat is space heaters. That could be a problem some times of year for those sensitive to allergens -- I did end up with a sinus headache. The unit is fairly close to the center of the Island, which makes it convenient to run back to check out shops, grab a sandwich or an ice cream. There is only one bath room, but it is large and situated between the two bedrooms. You do need to bring some of your own supplies, dish detergent, soap, clothes detergent, paper towels, and of course beach towels! The owner promptly replied when we were confused with our first effort to book through VRBO.
