The 1000 sq ft apartment is situated on the lower level of our home. It has it's own entry, and private off road parking. Conveniently located off I-26 as well as Merrimon Ave, you can use either route to reach UNCA (2 miles away) downtown (4.6 miles) Biltmore House (7 miles).
The apartment is fresh and clean, and furnished with quality comfortable furniture. The master bedroom has a king tempur-pedic mattress, red leather recliner, flat screen TV, dresser for clothing and large lit closet. Second bedroom has a comfortable queen bed, full dresser for storage and closet. All rooms have great books to read should you wish!
The living room has a down sofa, Ekornes recliner, electric fireplace, and drop leaf dining table with chairs.All rooms have ceiling fans and central AC. Kitchen is fully equipped for meal prep. Bathroom has a tub/shower combo and plenty of soft fluffy towels and various toiletries.
Marshall and I are both semi-retired from careers in the medical profession. We have been married for 45 years! (wow!) and still like being with each other (wow again!). We grew up in Michigan, just outside of Detroit, and because our careers allowed us to, we have lived in Northern California as well as Florida. We love our new home here in Asheville and love hosting people. While the apartment is on the lower level of our home we find it to be private to our guests as well as to us.
Having the 2 acres of land so near the city gives us the opportunity to enjoy city life and convenience as well as to have a private area where we can garden, and work on projects.

When looking for a new home we had two prerequisites: It must be near to the downtown area and it must have privacy.
Having this 2 acres of land gives us the opportunity to enjoy city life and it's convenience as well as to have that private setting. Yes, we have city sounds but we have nature around us as well. We have mountain views, gorgeous sun rises and sun sets and an abundance of birds and small animals. Families of wild turkeys love to roost in our trees as well as take walks down the street.
Walk to Beaver Lake and along the way take in the wonderful mountains on all sides. If you don't feel like driving take the bus at the foot of the hill. Walk to nearby restaurants to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner. The new YMCA is across the street, on Reynolds Mountain if you want to get a good workout! If you love city life, but don't want to be "pinched" between your neighbors our property should work for you!
Beatufilly maintained rental quarters with very gracious hosts. We will definitely be back!
The location is very good with quick access to I26 and to the main thorough-fare thru downtown. The apartment is in excellent condition and is beautifully furnished. The owners were great to work with and very helpful with information about the area.
This apartment is very convenient for a family or 2 couples . The place is neat and comfortable even the bed shits and the towels are high quality and soft .The owner offer a warm welcome and good advice for different place to eat or to visit . The pictures on internet do not express the important space of this beautiful apartment.
Marshall and Jessica were great! Place is very clean, comfortable, well stocked with all amenities. Quick and easy access to downtown. We'll rent again!
What a great time we had! This apartment is one of the nicest (HUGE master) and most charming places we've ever stayed. The owners couldn't be any nicer or more helpful, and have outdone themselves in providing a very well appointed and very clean unit. You will see only the nicest of linens, toiletries, etc., and it appears they have updated everything. We especially loved the kitchen, and the coffees, etc., provided. Also, it's in a very convenient location to everything on our itinerary.
Upon arrival, Marshall brought down a large basket of toys for our little boy, which was greatly appreciated. They provided a booklet of information and recommendations that were most helpful. Anyone staying here will be given even more special attention by their lovable pup, Juno. Our stay couldn't have been any nicer and we will definitely be staying there again.

Property was very clean, comfortable and well appointed, exactly what we anticipated from the property description. Location on a quiet wooded cul de sac within minutes of everything the city had to offer. Fully equipped kitchen convenient for morning breakfast. We would definitely stay there again or recommend to anyone considering an Asheville adventure.
We are one exit down from UNCA which hosts interesting seminars, has botanical gardens, and beautiful grounds. Biltmore House is 15 minutes down Merrimon (name changes but same road).
In the apartment we keep a listing of our favorite restaurants! Asheville is noted for diversity in lifestyle as well as cuisine. Between the apartment and downtown, on Merrimon Ave you will fine great grocery stores, including Trader Joes, Fresh Market, Whole Foods, Engles, and Harris Teeter.
If you are traveling with children Woodfin Park has a fantastic assortment of colorful outdoor equipment, a picnic area and ample room to run and play. The downtown municipal area has a neat "water spout" park! Tubing down the French Broad is 5 minutes away. A few miles away off I-26 is a nature center, where kids can see and pet farm animals.
The remarks we hear all the time from guests is that we are situated so conveniently to so much!

We live upstairs and are available by phone, text or in person. We are located up on a hill above Merrimon Ave (we have 2 wooded acres) so we do hear traffic sounds outside, but not inside.
Smoking outside is fine but never inside. We have a small dog in our home, but can't accept pets in the apartment due to future guests potentially having allergies.
Additional $10.00 per night per person for more than 2 guests. Maximum is 4 persons.
