a Denver Colorado native that loves the mountains and has a home in Denver and Log Cabin in South Park for the best of both worlds. The carriage house in Highlands (760082) offers the perfect city stay with walking distance to many coffeehouses, restaurants, bars, shops, grocers, gyms, bookstores, etc! The Highlands neighborhood is trendy and eclectic with wonderful diversity with people and architecture! From this home, I can be downtown or on the highway headed to the mountains within 5 minutes. I love the peaceful, quiet area, the garden and charm of the carriage house!
The cabin (457015) is my slice of heaven and I enjoy sharing it with others! It is the perfect get-away, to connect with nature, play in the great outdoors, relax and cherish the moments! While you can still 'connect' there, it is easy to forget about everything else when you're at the cabin! Cozy and peaceful in one of the most beautiful areas in the world. I lived in NW Denver for 15 years before moving to the south, so when I come back to visit, I do my best to stay in Highlands. Of all the Highlands VRBO's I've sampled, this one is my favorite. The location is to die for, the space is great, loved the deck and small yard. Everything you could possibly need is provided, including laundry facilities! It's funny, I live in the country and both my husband and I noticed how much QUIETER it was in the carriage house in the middle of Denver than at our country home!
You really can't beat the location. Walking distance to Highlands Square and Tennyson. Easy bike ride to Sloan's Lake, Mile High, Downtown, etc. (Although be prepared to bike UPHill on the way home). Speaking of biking, we rented bikes at a little coffee shop/bike rental place on 29th and they were awesome. Best $60 we spent.
Thank you Tanya, for your hospitality and responsiveness. We hope to be back and stay longer next time.
It's the perfect home away from home. It was in a wonderful neighborhood. Has all of the amenities you'll need. We loved our time at the house. We grilled some steaks and used the smartv to watch our Netflix. Was just as fun to stay in as it was to explore the awesome city. Would love to stay again.
Our long weekend stay at the carriage house was more than we could have hoped for our trip! The home is very well appointed, clean, and quiet. We loved how comfy and we'll set-up everything was. I also loved how it felt like a home and not a museum. Some of the properties listed sometimes seem a little sterile and lack character. The carriage house was no such property. It was charming and inviting with a great peaceful atmosphere. The yard was pretty, very quiet, and private. Waking up and having coffee on the upstairs balcony was a treat. Tanya was a very wonderful host who was quick to respond to questions but was not overbearing at all. The location was perfect. Walking distance to many great local businesses and close in to reach plenty of public transportation options and close to main thoroughfares and freeways. I highly suggest staying at the carriage house and renting from Tanya on your next stay in Denver. I will definitely be a repeat guest!
Our family of 5 (2 adults, 2 kids and a baby) rented the Carriage House for our Denver vacation in mid August. This is such a beautiful home. The decor has a relaxed, zen feel and we loved the layout. We had just stayed in a small cabin for 4 days before we arrived, so the kids having their own floor was awesome! My son enjoyed the little closet nook. The upstairs master bed/bath is very cozy and the bed is luxurious and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped with anything you might need but we mostly ate out at the many, many great restaurants within a few minutes walk or drive. The house in a very nice neighborhood and its a great location within the city. Tanya was very friendly and helpful. I'd highly recommend this property to any one visiting the Denver area.
This house is perfect for a small group or family. The house is centrally located as we took trips to Boulder (Pearl Street Mall visit, Baseline and Canyon road rides), Colorado Springs (for trips to Pikes Peak, Royal Gorge, Rafting & Train Tour) and getting around Denver (Rookies game, cool restaurants right around the corners). This place is in The Highlands (the coolest area in all of the near downtown areas). Must stay place!
The home is bordered by the Highlands neighborhood (32nd and Lowell) and the Tennyson neighborhood (44th and Tennyson) which are great neighborhoods with many restaurants, shops, and pubs if you want a more neighborhood vibe vs downtown. The I-70 expressway is three blocks away which is your gateway to all the best skiing in the Rocky Mountains - Loveland 55mins, Keystone 1hr, Breckenridge 1hr10mins, Vail 1hr30mins. Many more, you choose.
Red Rocks amphitheatre 20 minutes, Blackhawk and Central City Casinos are 1hr.
All make for an easy day trip so you can stay in Denver and not have to pay resort pricing.
