With us you can really relax and you are just steps away from the gulf of mexico. The beautiful white shell garden invites you to breakfast and sit in the open. Washer and dryer present in the apartment, as well as a Internet access via cable and wireless and big screen smart TV's. The location is awesome because you are really almost on the beach. On our lot you can easily park your car ( private parking). The atmosphere is very cozy and tropical. The weather on the island is still a bit better than on the mainland, the island connects with the mainland with two bridges. Once you have been here you'll never go somewhere just a secret hide-away for vacationers looking for authentic atmosphere, nature and hail-white beaches. Welcome to Anna Maria Island ! Our rates vary from $ 450-$ 898 per week + taxes and fees , depending on the season , Pls .note : in the winterseason ( January,February and March) we prefer 2-3 months rentals (snowbirds) ! Do not request these months seperate e.g. just February or just March until last minute availability (starting mid November)

Spacious apartment just steps to the beach

Enjoyed our stay on the island in this roomy 1 bedroom apartment. 2 bathrooms was a huge plus. Very clean and the location on the island is excellent! The owner and manager were very attentive to any of our needs and questions.

Good location, accommodation and value

This cozy one block from beach rental has suited me just fine on last and former multiple rental visits.  It is a “old Florida” style duplex; and I have stayed in both units at one time or another, so my comments can apply to both.  My most recent stay for two weeks was in unit B in April 2016, which had new mattresses and box springs, islandy appropriate decor, regular sized stove and refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, two modern larger screen TVs with “smart” tv options, good wireless internet access, phone, washer and dryer, two good-working room air conditioners, and unit was clean and neat upon arrival — as in all my previous visits.  I visit alone (as a former island resident); but both units have double beds in bedroom plus a living room “sofa-sleeper” to accommodate more than my needs.  I found the linens and towels, etc. to be more than adequate — and all clean.  Both units have two bathrooms, each with showers, which suits me fine and I only need one.  The kitchens have always seemed to have more than enough pots, pans, dish-ware and various utensils for my needs, as well as for a family or two couples, I would think.

There are some basic “starter" supplies of expendables, e.g., dish-washing liquid, paper towels, bug spray if needed (it is Florida), various cleaners, etc.  There is nearby on-island grocery (Public), Walgreens drugstore, liquor store, gas station, hardware store, and many various shops.  Of course, there are several places to dine from Domino’s to right across the street 3 star-rated (29 out of 30) Zagot reviewed Beach Bistro — with several worthy in-between restaurants.  If you are reading this, then you already know about the hidden gem of Anna Maria island.  However, this rental duplex is not some cookie-cutter major hotel-like space, e.g., Marriott, Hyatt, etc., of which there are none on AMI  I have stayed in those for various reasons and times.  This rental is comparatively basic to those; but also very affordable to most and yet with comfort, old Florida ambiance and location that is outstanding.  One can literally walk one block to beach and enjoy the always viewed majestic Gulf sunsets, as well as, the day excursions for sun and sea.

The unit parking is fine, plentiful for at least two cars per unit and is adjacent to units — steps from door, and just off main street.  The drive is the common on island shell composition, which is environmentally good and no drainage problem when it rains.

(Continued review) RE: shell drive: No, you don’t walk barefoot on it; but no problem with “boat shoes,” sandals or flip-flops that I have ever found.  Each unit has an exterior very nice “picnic” table of natural wood that seems rather new, along with the expected islandy heavy plastic replicas of adirondack chairs that are adequate for multiple seating.  There are ext. coach lamps for evening, as well.  Each unit has an electronic number-pad entry lock with a personalized code given upon each rental term — so, no problem with keys, security, etc.   There are also ext. soft and appropriate property lights that are activated by dusk for ambiance and security.

The owner himself , is reachable and responsive to any received problem or issue either directly or through his property manager, “Mike,” whose phone numbers are provided in the unit’s binder of helpful information, should an issue arrive.  I don’t recall in my past rentals any but minor issues arising  e.g., a burned out light bulb, one past issue of trouble getting wireless internet log-on.  If you are looking for “latest and greatest” current du jour quartz or marble kitchen countertops, subway tile or other kitchen counter backsplash, stainless kitchen appliances, 800+ thread count bed linens, super-plush “Marriott style” bath towels, complimentary small bottles of soap and shampoo, numbered famous artist prints on walls, room service, onsite pool (only the ocean one block away), or some concierge service — look elsewhere (not on Anna Maria Island).  This is a fine and well-managed “old Florida” style rental in an excellent location — and well-priced for such (I did the research in 8-2014 when I first rented; and it still is very price competitive for its class).  I will rent again; as needed; and I am long familiar with AMI since ~1975. Recommend

Needs Improvement

The location is excellent, 5 star, however the accommodations need vast improvements. Sure, it was recently pained and new furniture in the living room but the rest of the place needs much improvement. The beds are horrendously uncomfortable, very old and noisy. The towels are pathetic, this and cheap, The bathrooms are dirty and smelly and need to be revamped. The supplies in the kitchen are poor, 5pots, 5pans and 6 lids. The cutlery needs replenishment. New couch but very hard and not comfortable to sit and watch the beautiful large screen TV. No one has tended to the grounds in a long time. There was a 3 foot high pile of dead leaves on the east side. There are dead branches hanging, ready to fall on your car. There was only a one pot coffee maker so we went a bought a new larger one. No telephone and no barbeque as advertised. We bought a bbq. Yes, we were compensated but why was that the situation in the first place? There are bats or birds in the ceiling. You could hear them in the early morning just above the living room fan. The shells in the driveway are a nuisance because they get caught in your rubber soles and you end up tracking them inside or they cut right thru your shoe. The patio chairs are old and dirty and broken. The old picnic table needs to be painted. The cement table is useless. The screens on the windows are rotting and have holds in them or do not fit. We arrived to find the new TV boxes behind the building wet and never put in trash. It is only an apartment size fridge and stove so be prepared. The owner is not in the country and emergencies were to be directed to the cleaning lady who is not a maintenance person. Our neighbours in the other u it had some difficulties and my boyfriend ended up assisting in the repairs required. Overall, a poorly managed property that I would not recommend to anyone

Owner's Response: The new management has taken over ! The beds have been replaced with new ones The linen replaced with hotel grade luxury pieces. The bathrooms have been revamped with fresh refinishing of tiles where needed new paint, light fixtures and shower curtains. The kitchen refurbished with a new matching white apartment size refrigerator, white new full size coffeemaker,all new kitchen cooking supplies plus new dish sets cutlery and silverware. The new futon couch in the living room is firm and to most people's taste.we decided to add a memory foam topper for our special guests. That way its extra comfortable when watching a long movie or enjoying many hours on the smart TV features of the big screen TV. The court yard have recently been landscaped removing truckloads of fresh cut palm branches and yard trimmings For security and liability reasons we do not provide propane BBQ, we don't mind you bringing one at your own risk. The patio furniture is being replaced with new pieces The picnic tables are from natural pressure treated wood and from the elements they now show a pleasing aged appearance . (please do not paint ) The white sunbleached sea shells in the driveway are part of the island beach ambiance, so desired on Anna Maria Island. We renew them every year receiving lots of compliments from our guests. The antique stone patio table is a piece of art ( not intended for use ) pleasing to the eye. New screens are all around allowing guests to enjoy the fresh breeze of the gulf of mexico. The new management team is now constantly in contact with the owner via skype. We left the birds nest on the roof with the baby birds undisturbed. A few days later we discovered the birds have flown away so we have removed the nest. The Management
