Great Family Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Tranquility Ridge was the perfect place for our family getaway over the Thanksgiving holiday. The cabin was well maintained and had everything we needed. It was very private, yet close enough for a day trip into Boone. We enjoyed the views, walking the trails and fishing and kayaking in the Watauga Lake. Cecil was a great host. He was very welcoming and accommodating, periodically checking to make sure everything was perfect. We would definitely consider another trip to Tennessee. Thanks for a wonderful time!

Peacefull Retreat

  • 3 of 5

Loved the cabin and the area. Cecil went out of his way to bring us a new propane tank of gas for the grill and even offered to help us get up the gravel driveway!

Constructive criticism would be: 1) Pave the driveway since even after turning my VSA off on my vehicle, we really dreaded each trip up the driveway and never got easier. 2) Replace the rear decking with Trex 3) Replace the grill - gas burner replacement is an alternative option.

4) Have a written set of instructions for operating the gas fireplace or maybe the remote batteries were dead.

Again, thanks for the memories!!

This was perfect for a week's stay for a family reunion. It felt like home because it was comfortable and had everything we needed from a fully equipped kitchen to comfortable beds and views that just won't quit. Cecil was great, checking to make sure we had everything we needed.

Quiet and peaceful.

  • 5 of 5

The house is as pictured on website. It is very spacious. The location is quiet and secluded. Views of trees very pretty. Area and Watauga Lake are beautiful. There are other rental cabins near, but still have a lot of privacy. Although we did not use the kitchen, it does have all the dishes and appliances. It does state there is a coffee maker, but it is actually a Keurig, so if wanting coffee, bring k cups. Mr Perry did call a couple of times to see if everything was OK. It was a nice personal touch.
