The "Sweet St. John" and the estate of which it is located on, experienced no interior damage and did very well compared to the surrounding properties. None of the three structures on the estate lost their roofs, a testament of the buildings integrity. Besides the grounds, the extent of damage was external from all the flying debris. The carport roof of the "Sweet" and it's 45 solar panels decided to take a vacation and flew away. We have since replaced it with a better, stronger and more resistant structure. Additionally, we've taken the opportunity to replace many plants and palms so the grounds have taken an improvement step as well. The "Sweet St. John" is open for business at the same quality it exhibited before the "Blows" came through.
St. John is doing very well, with electricity and island services almost all back on line. There are more restaurants open than there are closed. The beaches are clean and gorgeous with fewer visitors and no parking issues. St. John always gets back on line and heals quicker than the other islands in the area due to our community. We all help each other and respond unselfishly to help those in need in a situation like we just endured. Believe it or not, there a positives that come from storms like these. It takes some time before they are identified.
