About the property

2 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, 8 Sleeps

Completely remodeled, 2 bedroom 1 bathroom sleeps 8+. Right in the middle of two staging areas on 32nd st which the 32nd st staging area is short jog less than a mile west to the little O and Big O trail. The 16th st staging area is just over 2 mile jog NE to get on the Little Manistee Lincoln Hills trail. All of these trails are accessible without trailering to the staging areas. Take off right from the house.

THERE IS NO SMOKING ALLOWED IN THE HOME. IF YOU SMOKE IN THE HOME AND WE SMELL IT WHEN WE COME TO CLEAN YOUR DEPOSIT WILL NOT BE REFUNDED.

DOGS ARE ALLOWED FOR AN EXTRA FEE BUT NOT ALLOWED ON FURNITURE OR BEDS.

We purchased this home and gutted and remodeling it in 2007. We chose this home due to it's unique location between to prime staging areas offering the best of both worlds when it comes to snowmobiling and ORV riding not to mention the abundant fishing, canoeing and kayaking activities in the Baldwin area. There is an excellent restaurant (BARSKI) within walking distance and a gas station within 1/4 mile to fill up before you hit the trail. Highly recommend Barski for a meal while you are visiting. They are our favorite!

This home has a turn around drive that allows multiple truck/trailers to park. There is a queen bed in one room, 2 sets of bunk beds in the other bedroom and a futon that sleeps 2 in the living area.

We do not rent out the home from December 1st to April 1st and use it ourselves during this season for snowmobiling. We do also on occasion block off other periods for our own use as we have dirtbikes and quads. If you do not see it blocked off on the calendar that means it is available as we only use VBRO/Homeaway for renting out the home.

CHECK IN TIME IS AFTER 3:00 AND CHECK OUT TIME IS NOON. ARRIVAL ANYTIME AFTER 3:00PM IS FINE. YOU WILL RECEIVE A SPECIAL 4 DIGIT CODE TO ENTER THE HOME DURING YOUR STAY. THE CODE CHANGES FOR EVERY VISITOR FOR SECURITY PURPOSES. WE WILL ARRIVE AT NOON TO CLEAN IN MOST INSTANCES.

Great location for ORV riding -close to town and restaurants. Bad Neighbors

  • 3 of 5

PROS: Rebecca was great and responded quickly with any questions that I had. Easy code to get in house and lock up. Nice updated place overall.

Loved being able to ride ORV right from the property--about a 1.5 miles from the trail--dirt roads. gas station less then .5 of a mile was nice!

Plenty of parking for trucks and trailers.

The kitchen was decently stocked including coffee pot-dishes-and dishwasher-paper towels

The bathroom had plenty of TP and towels and it was nice having a washer and dryer in the house.

CONS: Neighbors dog barked constantly. I think they left the two dogs tied up outside while they had a few people stop to bring them in and out..over Labor Day Weekend-- they where left outside one night while down pour rain. Barking at 3:30am-- had to shut windows. Keep this in mind if you bring your own dogs to this house.

Like a previous renter stated we also had front row seats to the neighbors on the other side's screaming match two nights we were there. -- other then the 2 nights.. I don't think they where home.

The last thing I must point out is the trash can in the kitchen. It was so disgusting!!! Purchasing air fresheners did not help--replace the $12 trash bin!!!!!

I really wanted to leave a good review because Rebecca was great and overall the house was decent but I feel like the things I pointed out needed to be mentioned.

EXCELENT CHOICE

  • 5 of 5

This property has everything you need, no joke! I can't think of anything you have to bring. Also there is a picnic table & fire pit in back yard that we used every night, it was very relaxing to be out by the fire. There is a big collection of movies, hair dryer, washer & dryer, everything. I totally recommend this place. We loved it.

Baldwin Area Stay

  • 4 of 5

Property is an updated older cabin which provides everything for a reasonably priced getaway.

We found many things to do in the area which included golf and hiking. The owners were very responsive and kept us updated.

Awesome place to stay!!

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at this little house in the woods! We have stayed many times in the Wallhalla/Ludington area and never had a more enjoyable stay!! I can't say enough about this place! First of all, the owners are great to deal with! There is absolutely everything you could ever need in the cabin!! I needed a tool for a minor repair on my car...... and it was there!!! We have stayed many times at cabins that required us to bring our own towels and linens....not here!!! This is a great location if you want a quiet getaway. It's close to the national forest and all the trails! There is everything you could possibly need in the kitchen ! There is a fire ring in the backyard which we enjoyed very much. This is remote enough to have your privacy, but only minutes from Ludington, the beaches, and all the other attractions! We will be back! I highly recommend this rental! Thank you Kevin and Rebecca!!

Perfect location for ORV riders but it could use some work.

  • 3 of 5

I'll start by saying that Rebecca was great and answered all my questions including places to ride our ORV. We pulled our buggy from Missouri so we were extremely happy with the amount of riding we were able to do leaving directly from the property. Plenty of parking for trucks and trailers. The kitchen was decently stocked including a crockpot which worked out great while we were riding all day. The bathroom had plenty of TP and towels and it was nice having a washer and dryer in the house. Now the not so good. The house did not have AC which would have been fine if we were able to leave the windows open. This wasn't possible because the neighbors dog barked constantly. Totally understandable since it was tied up outside the whole time but it truly broke my heart seeing him that way. 😢. We also had front row seats to the neighbors on the other side's screaming match two of the four nights we were there. The last thing I must point out is the trash can in the kitchen. It was so disgusting that we had to take it out and leave it on the porch. I really wanted to leave a good review because Rebecca was great and overall the house was decent but I feel like the things I pointed out needed to be mentioned.
