We are 'newcomers' in Ostfriesland are, we got stuck in this region on a holiday. We have a passion for the culture of architecture, which you certainly will notice by our offer. In a house that breathes the rustic atmosphere of the time, when there were no cars, nobody even had a bike, and there was still no electric power. We have removed the differences between the past and present in terms of the living quality largely. The Huus Campen offers the cosy proximity to the time of our ancestors, but also the very comfortable living standard of today. Up to the dishwasher.

With us you do not have to pick up a key; we welcome you personally. Our homes are houses for friends. Even in the time of your stay we are here for you. And while you can expect surprises with many other landlords, in particular with extra costs (for linen, towels, electricity, gas, water, internet) - not so with us.   • The bathroom has a tiled shower room with toilet and washbasin. Hand and bath towels are also included as well as bath mat and plush bathrobes. Everything needed for home use is here. A hair dryer is of course available as well as basic equipment for the first few days in the holiday home (toilet paper, soap).

  • Both bedrooms are upstairs, accessible by a normal staircase. Also for children and seniors - no problem. In the second bedroom, you have a double bed, and also have a loft bed with a mattress size 90 x 200 centimetres – which can be reached by a ladder. We do, however, point out that the bunk bed is not suitable for small children, as there is no fall protection. We see it more as a decorative element, it is fully functional - but at your own risk. (You know your children best and know if he or she is using the bed only for sleeping or in reality think they have to play Tarzan ...

Notes:
The Huus Campen is an over 220 year old former farm workers cottage. In the front house, among most modest conditions, lived the farm worker with his mostly large family. And because he could not make a living for his family with his normal 10-12 working hours, at least six days a week, he kept animals in the barn behind the Vorderhuus (today Achterhuus). If you look at the dimensions of Huus Campen, it can not have been much: maybe a few pigs, a cow, a few chickens, ducks and a few sheep. The Huus Campen with its poor structure dating from Napoleonic times with only some masonry, without any sanitary facilities, was orphaned in the early 1980s after the death of the last owner. The late 80s threatened with demolition. An Emden architect renovated the house. With our acquisition in 2009, we modernized it to its present state.

Der schönste Sommerurlaub seit Jahren

Diese Ruhe. Ländliche Idylle, die Nordsee fasst vor der Türe. Die herrlichen Radwege. Super Gegend - nah nach Greetsiel und Emden. Alles klasse. Und das Haus: ein Träumchen. Wir sind zwar das erste Mal, aber gewiss nicht das letzte Mal hier gewesen. Campen mit C , nicht mit K wie auf Sylt, hat die Vermieterin "gewarnt" bei der Buchung... Hahaha, ja da wollten wir auch nicht hin - gerade im Sommer nicht. Wir wollten ja ausspannen, lange schlafen, die Gegend erkunden. Und ehrlich? Ich war froh, als mal einen Tag das Wetter etwas nass war... Da haben wir es uns sehr gemütlich gemacht im Haus, das unter Denkmalschutz steht. Sehr schön alles, herrliche Betten, tolle Küche. Ein Danke an die Besitzer.

Erholsam für Seele und Körper

es waren wunderbare tage an der nordsee. der garten ist eine oase, hier kann man bestens ausspannen von der hektik des alltags.

wir haben ausflüge gemacht auf die inseln borkum und wangerooge. schön, aber abends wieder im schönen und so liebevoll hergerichteten huus campen zu sein, war wunderbar.

wir kommen garantiert wieder. spätestens 2018.

Campen in a small village (about 550 inhabitants), located about 2 kilometres from the North Sea. How old it is nobody knows for sure. But there in the village, a beautiful church from the 13th century gives an idea on which historical paths you move in the old village, which was once created to protect against floods on a hill (Warf village). The 200 year old Huus Campen is located directly next to the old church. Holiday in this village offers two options: to dive in forabsolute rest or active recreation. The location of the Campen site is in the heart of East Friesland, 16 kilometres from the bustling harbor town of Emden and 12 kilometres from the fishing village Greetsiel, where you can undertake beautiful bike rides (bikes are free). And the beach also has a lot going on: There are among other things, a surf school where you can learn, kite surfing for example. Huge fun for people who want more.

Other Activities: Kite surfing - even for beginners

Golf: golf courses, there are two: the Lütetsburg Castle (in the north) and in Wiesmoor.
