About Stan and Marcia Morley

Stan grew up in Wisconsin and has called this area his home since attending UW in Madison in the early 70's. Marcia moved here from nearby Illinois in 2002, and loves living in the picturesque rolling hills of the Vermont Township area of Wisconsin. They love calling the area "home".

Stan and Marcia Morley purchased this lodge in 2006

Why Stan and Marcia Morley chose Wisconsin

We've been together in this log home since 2006, even hosting our wedding reception here! We've enjoyed cultivating the gardens and grooming the surrounding acreage to enhance the natural beauty. This home and property change and become more beautiful as the seasons change. Now it's time to share our home with others!

What makes this lodge unique

This home is situated near county roads that lead to all kinds of adventures, and yet the views from every window make you feel you're tucked away in the countryside. We love those beautiful views and the peaceful spots to relax and enjoy the natural surrounding beauty.... from the front porch rockers, the tables and chairs on the deck, the cozy spot to read a book on the screened porch, or the table near the sport court... perfect for watching kids or grandkids play.

Weekend stay for plays at APT

  • 5 of 5

The home is fantastic; spacious and very well furnished. The Morley's were incredibly responsive and gracious.

We are four couples that for several years have met for a summer weekend to attend plays at nearby American Players Theatre. This will be our first choice for lodging now.

And hopefully for a get away in the winter season too.

Fantastic Place

  • 5 of 5

The home had everything. Our kids are younger but between the hot tub, the sport court and the great backyard, they didn't want to leave. There was also plenty of space for the adults to relax. We had a wonderful time and would gladly stay here again.

Perfect Location and Accomodations

  • 5 of 5

We had our extended family (6 adults and 2 kids) in late summer. The cabin was perfect for our needs: immaculately clean, quiet grounds, not too far from nearby towns and activities. Plenty of room in the house and around the property, so we never felt cramped. Kids had plenty of space to roam. Highly recommended.

Beautiful getaway from it all!

  • 4 of 5

Stan and Marcia were absolutely wonderful. They answered all questions we had and provided a wonderful home for our family vacation. The valley view is gorgeous and would be even better in the fall when the leaves change color. My three girls had a blast playing pool in the lower level, basketball outside and smores by the firepit. I would have given this property a 5 out of 5, but because the internet was spotty we could not access the internet and my husband needed it for work. He was able to access internet once in the towns so we adapted. It rained heavily for a few days before our vacation so perhaps that played a role. Just 10-15 minutes down the road was Cave of the Mounds which was amazing to go into and should be visited if you plan to stay at this home. We even went into Madison one day, maybe a 30 minute drive, and rented a boat on Lake Mendota. A definite must is to go into Mount Herob and eat at the Grumpy Troll. It was a great restaurant and a very cute town. We would highly recommend this vacation home to any and all that wish to get away from it all.

Beautiful, spacious home outside Madison

  • 4 of 5

This is a spacious, well kept, beautiful home. We had plenty of room for 4 adults and 4 children and enjoyed using the kitchen very much. The finished basement with a juke box and pool table was fun for everyone.

While this is a fantastic house, it is located in a remote area so there's very little cell phone reception. We were without service our entire stay. Additionally the internet in the house is not reliable and is extremely slow. If having a speedy wifi connection isn't important to you, it's not an issue. If you need the internet to work remotely or if you want to be able to stream anything on your computer, the wifi at this house doesn't allow for that.

Overall, it's a very nice house with tons of space and the owners seem very nice.

Beautiful Home Away From It ALL !!

  • 5 of 5

We were coming to Madison for a cousin's wedding and decided to re-connect with relatives in a home rather than a hotel. The home was spacious and beautiful with plenty of room for conversations, game playing and just relaxing. The kitchen was perfect for prepariing our meals. We sipped our coffee outside while watching the birds .. the hummingbirds were constant. We even enjoyed the fresh blueberries !!

The location was ideal for exploring wineries, Mt. Horeb, Verona, Middleton and Madison.

Stan and Marcia were Great !! Thanks for the tips ! Even the hair salon !

Everything was wonderful.. This dream home provides a superb vacation ..

Thank you, Morley's for sharing it with us !!
