Great location for those who love the "Greatest Snow on Earth". Comfy condo is ideal for one or two families. 2,300 square feet, 4 BR, 3 BA, Fireplace, Hot Tub, Washer/Dryer, Two-Car Garage. Three queen beds and three twin beds. Comfortably sleeps nine. Restaurants and stores are nearby. Easy freeway access to Park City and Deer Valley. Great value. Great Owner. Many guests have made this their vacation home during the ski season.
We bought this property because of it's proximity to the best skiing in Utah. We live in Salt Lake City, and wanted a ski property that would attract skiers from around the world.
Tom Tippetts purchased this condo in 1997
Loved the accommodations! Clean and spacious. Never far from anything. We would stay here again in a heart beat!
This condo was clean and inviting. Our family of 4 spent 5 days/4nights while skiing near by at Alta. We were able to take day trips into town and also over to Park City. It seemed that the condo was 30 min from just about any fun activity. With our smart phone is was rather easy to navigate local shopping, restaurants and points of interest. However, a welcome book/information manual would have been helpful. This was our first trip to the Salt Lake City area. Tom T was easy to reach by phone as needed.
Location at intersection of Big Cottonwood Canyon and short drive to Little Cottonwood. Worked well for four couples who planned to stay in and cook. Walking distance to discount ski lift tickets (big plus!) and near grocery. Very little other commercial activity in walking distance and a short drive to good restaurants. Very attentive owner. Decently appointed house suited us well!
The location of this property is perfect. Very close to everything. We have stayed at several units in this area over the past 15 years, and keep coming back because of the location. The property is nice, with all the features you would expect from a ski rental(kitchen items, TV's, towels, ski racks, laundry facilities, etc...). The rooms are nice, 3 full bathrooms, and the view from the deck is great.
The problem, and the reason for the 3 stars, is that the hot tub is broken. A private hot tub is one of the "must have" items on our list for a ski rental and one of the main reasons we rented this unit. After our first day skiing, we came home and discovered the hot tub was warm, but had no jets. We immediately contacted the owner who stated he was sorry, he was aware for almost 2 weeks that it was broken, and it would be fixed, but not immediately. This obviously did us no good. The owner had no further response when we inquired about what he was going to do to correct this situation. At the very least we would have liked an offer of some kind of partial refund as one of the main features of this property could not be used. Even more upsetting was that the owner had known this before we arrived and gave us no notice. As of the day we left the unit was still being advertised as including a hot tub.
If you don't care about using the hot tub, this place is fine. If you want the hot tub, I would strongly suggest you confirm before booking this unit that it has been fixed. For a group of skiers, it was very disappointing.
I rented this unit for a week (Saturday to Saturday). We had a group of 7 or 8 people, depending on the nights. The unit had everything we needed, with tons of space and plenty of beds. I rent a lot of ski lodging places (I tend to be the guy who organizes the trips for friends and family), and this place had tons of room compared to pretty much any other place I've rented. It's not fancy, but it had everything we needed. (You can look at the listing for details on that.) Also, something often overlooked, it had plenty of towels for the bathrooms and the hot tub -- more than we needed (which is always a plus).
The location is excellent -- it's right off of Wasatch Blvd, about 20 minutes from Snowbird, Alta, Solitude, and Brighton -- maybe 20-25 minutes from the airport, and not far from some decent restaurants, grocery store, etc.
Tom, the owner, was very attentive in making sure we were happy and had everything we needed, and in answering questions, etc. Although I didn't actually meet him, he seemed like a really nice guy (phone conversations, texts, and emails) -- the kind you'd want to deal with.
I really loved the place, and would rent it again. (Did I mention that it had tons of room?!?)
Great location for skiing multiple mountains. The house was clean and provided everything we needed. Whatever issues we had were small and Tom was right there to provide a remedy.
