About Rachel Nichols
Our family loves to travel! Before moving to Gainesville in 2016, my family lived in Europe for over 10 years. During that time we lived in France, Portugal, and the UK, and we visited many other countries by staying in homes through HomeAway and other home-stay sites. When we are not traveling, my husband is an international adviser at the University of Florida, my daughters attend their neighborhood elementary school, and I enjoy teaching English as a Second Language, writing, and hosting guests.
Rachel Nichols purchased this Bed And Breakfast in 2017
Why Rachel Nichols chose Madison Park
When looking for a home to call our own in Gainesville, we mainly looked for location, location, location. Being a one car family, my husband enjoys taking the bus to work at the University of Florida. There are 3 bus lines in walking distance of our house. We are also conveniently located by local shops, two grocery stores, a city park with a pool, playground, and tennis courts, as well as the Loblolly Woods Nature Park. It's a great area of town to live - close to everything, but still close to nature.
What makes this Bed And Breakfast unique
Our home is a typical mid-century Florida home. It was designed to bring nature indoors through all of its large windows that look out onto the moss draped magnolia, oak, and crepe myrtle trees that cover our yard along with the azaleas, camellias, and ferns. The family that owned our home for 40 years before us took great care in landscaping the yard. I am in the process of taking gardening classes so that I can continue its care.

Our host was gracious and helpful. Accommodations were just right for a short stay being clean and neat! It was close to stores and shoppes and the University. Storage was good and we especially liked the two bathroom cabinets for small items out of the way and great towels. I like no tv and just used our I Pad for Fox News!!!
Thanks, Connie! We enjoyed hosting you. I have taken your advise and added cups for water in the room. We hope to be able to host you again on your next visit to Gainesville!
It was great Quaint, clean and. Cute. Convenient to everything. Highly recommend
Thanks for being such great guests!
Would stay again!
Very clean, nice, great motion control lights for late night arrival.
I am glad you enjoyed your stay.
Convenient and comfortable
The property was clean and tidy when we arrived. We were met by Byron and Rachel and familiarized with everything we needed to know. The bed was comfortable, and the location private and quiet, with good access to the University of Florida. The hosts were friendly and accommodating -- we couldn't have asked for more.
Thank you, Michael, for being such lovely guests. We would love to host you again the next time you are in Gainesville.
We are located less than a 10 minute drive to the campus of the University of Florida. The University hosts a verity of athletic events and cultural events as well as being the home of the Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art and the Florida Museum of Natural History. Gainesville is also home to 25 nature parks that are great for walking and biking and enjoying the great outdoors. We are located within walking distance to Loblolly Woods Nature Park.
