Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
Small and quaint but well furnished. We enjoyed our time there between Christmas and New Years.
First, the condo itself was really lovely and well maintained with a clean, well-stocked kitchen and bathroom, comfortable bed and furnishings, and even a washer and dryer. However, my husband and I picked this place largely for the view, since this was a working vacation for us (lots of writing to get done), and we wanted to enjoy the lake scenery while we got things done inside. What we didn't know was that the water level would be so low in November that the view out our windows was mostly of an acre of mud and the highway that goes across the lake. I'm sure it's lovely in summer when the lake is full, but in the late fall/early winter, the view isn't really worth looking at!
You can also hear the trains running all day and night. The noise wasn't bad, but if you're sensitive to that sort of thing, you might want to know.
Lastly, although this wasn't the owner's fault and probably won't affect future guests, the condo directly above us was under major construction of some sort during our entire stay, so there were lots of hammers banging and power tools grinding away from 8-5 for three days straight, and construction workers walking up and down the stairs and back and forth outside carrying gear around. I was glad we'd brought a box fan to help drown out the noise!
Also, it was perfect for two people, but the hot water ran out quickly (getting cold during a second shower), so having four people stay would be problematic if everyone wanted a shower in the morning!
Overall, a lovely, comfortable place to stay.
When you can stay in a condo cheaper than a hotel, have a beautiful lake view, walk to great restaurants and hiking paths, why wouldn't you? Do bring your own internet.
We have stayed in this condo twice now becuase of it's great location, nice condition and moorage. We are typically pretty 'no fuss' folks when it comes to vacation properties - honestly - but we have had our share of challenges with this property. Our first stay (last year) we had trouble with the wifi, moorage and air conditioning but the assets (view, location, amentities) seemed to outweigh the flaws. Fast forward to this year - same clean, comfortable condo with all the amenities you need. However, this year we were met with more issues. First, the rate increased substantially from last year, second, the air conditioning unit in the living room did not work, and third, we had to endure waking to renovation noise. With regards to the A.C., given that it was beginning of August the room temperature was exceedingly high resulting in a sleepless night for the guest using the sofa bed. The next morning management arrived quickly to address the issue (ya!), but the problem was fixed only after my husband provided his analysis of the situation and then was willing to use the manager's tools to remove a piece of styrofoam from the outside, Not something that most guests would have been able to, or should have been expected to, do. Re: renovation noise, the final two mornings (we were there for only five) we were awaken by renovation noises from the condo above us. Both mornings, this noise began prior to 7:30 and carried on through the day, It seems to me that in a resort such as this, renovations should not be approved during high season. We work pretty darn hard and, when we finally take a break for a holiday, the last thing we want is to be awaken by the sound of renovations. Lovely ambience for our 'quiet' breakfast overlooking the lake. . . We did mention this to management, who were sympathic, but offered no solution. As for the rate increase, my understanding is that this is due to new management. It was tough to swallow given the this year we didn't even have free wifi as was provided in the previous year. Again, great location, but we need to consider whether it's worth returning to. I suspect next year we'll look to another condo and hope for less issues.
