What makes this apartment unique

The shell of the building was built in 1840's and we love the old hand honed beams that run throughout the living space and into the bedrooms. When sitting in the living room you can watch the snowfall while sitting next to the warm fireplace with a hot cup of cocoa or tea.

A Hidden Gem in Plain Sight!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four (2 parents & 2 teen girls) thoroughly enjoyed our 8 nights at Stafford Place in August! If you're looking for a perfect summer vacation to enjoy everything that Stowe and Vermont have to offer, then look no further than Stafford Place.

The condo decor is gorgeous and a delight to the eyes and senses. No detail was forgotten by the owners for making guests feel pampered and comfortable. Small details like thick terricloth bath robes in each bathroom, specialty soaps, thick padding underneath the designer carpets to make walking barefoot & in socks soft to the feet, luxurious & comfortable bedding, a super soft blanket throw made in Italy for the living room, a yoga mat & hand weights, a bike locker, a nice selection of herbal teas in the well-appointed kitchen... we could go on & on. It's like staying in a 5 star resort in terms of the caliber of accommodations.

We were expecting the Main Street traffic noise to be an issue but it was barely noticeable & didn't bother us one bit! Not once did we turn on the white noise machines for sleeping. Instead, we enjoyed being part of the village scene and all it has to offer. We were steps away from morning coffee & a pastries, Sunday brunch, a quick deli lunch, or fine dining for dinner. Our two favorite restaurants were Plate, which is in the same building as Stafford Place, and Whip at The Green Mountain Inn, which offers al fresco dining with beautiful views and a superb menu.

Our most favorite part by far of staying at Stafford Place was easy access to the Stowe Recreation Path. We brought our 4 bikes with us from Virginia and stored them in the condo's bike locker on the ground floor. The entrance to recreation path is in the rear of the condo's parking lot. What a beautiful 5-1/2 mile ride! The scenery is absolutely gorgeous with mountain views, water, parks, bridges to traverse, restaurants to stop by for lunch or drinks, and ending at a classic Vermont covered bridge. It's an easy ride and relatively flat most of the way for both adults and children to enjoy. It's ideal for walkers, too, and wheelchair accessible. We were lucky to have gorgeous weather the vast majority of our days during our stay and enjoyed this ride three times. We miss it dearly now that we're home!

Charles the property manager is a gem and handled every detail promptly and with cheer!

We definitely plan to stay again at Stafford Place!

Owner's Response: Michele, Just when I thought I had seen and heard all of the great thing that there are to say about the condo and it's beautiful surroundings, along comes your review! You have summed up so many of the fine details and the little surprises that make this condo a home away from home. Its because of these touches that many of our guests are returning each year. We look forward to having you and your family back again too! Charles

Great experience in the center of Stowe

  • 5 of 5

Main Street location has many pros - close to a lot of restaurants and entertainment and quick ride to the mountain. Only con is the noise from the plows and trucks. Well appointed and comfortable. Well stocked with supplies.

Beautiful, comfortable space; like walking into a decorating magazine

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay very much and due to some less than ideal weather, we spent more time inside the condo than expected which turned out to be a plus. It is a beautifully decorated and very comfortable space; lots of views of Main Street Stowe right outside; shops and restaurants not only close by but also right in the building. The only downside is the high traffic volume on Main Street.

Stunning property, great location in Stowe village

  • 5 of 5

I took my husband on a tour of New England breweries for his 40th and we found this little gem in the heart of Stowe village. He was thrilled it was right next to a bottle shop with amazing New England beers, and a short walk from a neighborhood bar with more local beer on tap. The decor was phenomenal, looks like it was professionally decorated. The beds were cozy and the curtains kept the rooms nice and dark. Being on the street was not at all noisy. The village does shut down pretty early. We didn't cook any meals here, but the kitchen seemed well-equipped if we were so inclined. But why would you with the great restaurants nearby? Must eat breakfast across the street at the Butler's Pantry! We really enjoyed our stay and can't wait until we're back in the area.

Owner's Response: Thank you Amy. Many of our guests are surprised to find out how many micro brews and breweries can be found in the area, including the Heady Topper brewery (voted the country's number one beer the last few years). I'm also going to add the Butler's Pantry to our list of breakfast suggestions. We look forward to you celebrating your husband's 41st with us next year! Charles
