Cozy Backyard Log Cabin/ Great Sunsets

Bedrooms 1
Separate WC's1
Space 1,200 sq. ft.
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

1 Bedroom, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 2

Enjoy this restored log cabin with queen loft, 1.5 baths (shower/no tub), fully furnished kitchen, breakfast room & den. Jotul woodstove for rentals during Winter months, firewood provided. Great sunsets from back porch. We share fresh eggs from the chickens, Kangen/alkaline water, & fresh veggies from Summer garden. Wifi, Charter Cable. Separate entrance & separate parking from owners in main house. Hosts have super friendly golden retriever and an 9- year old that play in shared backyard. Mini-split heating and air system for individual room control. 10 minutes to Navitat Canopy Tours (coolest zip lines around!), 10 minutes to French Broad River, 15 minutes to Blue Ridge Parkway, 12 miles to Wolf Laurel Ski Resort and snow tubing, 8 minutes to great restaurants, art, clubs, people-watching, etc... in awesome Asheville. 5 minutes to quaint downtown Weaverville or Mars Hill, location of Mars Hill College. Cabin located 1 minute off Interstate I-26.

We are 10 miles on Interstate 26, door to door, from our rental cabin to downtown Asheville.

The pull-out sofa will sleep two, but when in use, it blocks access to the kitchen unless you move the sofa in front of the woodstove. You can access the kitchen via the back porch, but that's a chilly awakening in Winter months (although it's only about 6 steps outside and back inside). I mention this in case you have kids that sleep later than you do, and you need your morning coffee!

We have fenced chickens in our yard. They are a delight to watch as you enjoy breakfast in the breakfast room or back porch.

We have nice (close proximity) neighbors to the right of our home, nobody on the left that you'll see, and there is a nice neighborhood across the street that has good hills for walking exercise. Jupiter Rd. is a fairly busy county road. Pay attention when exiting the driveway.

Why GeGe Sinclair chose Weaverville

The old oak logs and history of the structures and the outdoor space! We're a 10 minute drive to a mecca of activity in Asheville, yet drive home to what feels a bit like rural life.

What makes this cabin unique

We love that we can sit on the back deck and see nothing but trees and distant mountains.

This place was adorable. Everything was as represented in the photos. We forgot a backpack and the host was gracious enough to loan us one. The area was as lovely. The only recommendation would be to have a few more pantry items in the kitchen. Fresh eggs were delivered to us so that was nice! I would stay again

Relaxing space, close to Asheville

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I had a great stay here. We had planned on doing a lot of exploring in the area, and figured we'd only be at the cabin to sleep. But once we saw the cabin, it was hard to leave. There is a great view of some mountain peaks from the kitchen area or back porch. It made for relaxing mornings, sipping some coffee and watching the sun come up. We would definitely consider staying here again the next time we're in Asheville.

Cozy retreat

  • 5 of 5

My husband, sons and I loved the Cabin. It is very comfortable, spacious and accommodating inside. Outside there was more to love - the beautiful lawn, zip line, friendly chickens, front porch swing, rocking chairs and grill out back. My four year old kept saying we should buy the house (not that it is for sale :)). We loved it. Easy access to Weaverville & Asheville. Quick, kind, responsive hosts.

The cabin was the perfect getaway for my husband, myself and our nearly 4 year old son. It was close to town and several beautiful hikes, it had all the amenities we might need and my son loved feeding the chickens. Oh, and the bed was extremely comfortable for me, as a pregnant woman! :) Would definitely stay here again.
