Overview

About the property

Feels like luxury without paying for it! Enjoy asheville!

Come stay in this brand new, furnished, beautiful 1 bedroom, private (separate...No shared spaces...But attached to the main house) apartment available with 1 full bath and a half bath. I love children, but this space is for adults only. Thank you!

Why choose my space:

--The "feel" of the space is one of peaceful quiet and thoughtful design. You will feel it as soon as you walk in.

--Everything is new, cozy, and comfortable.

--Along with being a writer, providing an exceptional guest experience is part of my livelihood. I thoroughly enjoy meeting new people, getting them acquainted with the beauty and fun of Asheville, and providing any level of connection with which you are comfortable. I'm as available as you need me to be. I can check in daily through text/email/phone or step back completely until you ask for assistance.

--You can walk to the Blue Ridge Parkway and hike the Mountain to Sea trail every morning.

--The house is exactly 6.5 miles (7 minutes) from all the downtown restaurants, music, breweries, and activities.

--The quiet, lovely little neighborhood is on a cul-de-sac type loop with little to no traffic.

--On the less congested east side of Asheville...away from the hustle-bustle when you are ready to bring a close to your day.

Features:

-oak hardwood floors in main living area

-new, luxuriously soft carpet in the bedroom

-ceramic tile bathroom/subway tiles in the shower

-full sized refrigerator

-microwave/toaster/coffee maker

-new queen-sized bed, firm with memory pad

-central heat and air

-wireless internet

-private porch with Adirondack chairs

-walk in closet in bedroom

-carport

-storage building connected to carport to store your extras

-fire pit for outside coziness

Looking for:

Quiet, non-smoking, no drugs, no drama, no pets and adults only. Please purchase travel insurance if you are concerned about anything changing your plans...especially for weather. A big snow event can be frustrating and possibly cause a cancellation due to inability to get to Asheville.

Location:

Off of 74a east, a mile from the blue ridge parkway and I-40

Tucked away in the woods (my friends all comment on how quiet it is here)

Tucked away but minutes from everything

5 miles from downtown

About Karen

Hi all,

I'm a Southern girl by birth but lived out in California for ten years (LA and then San Francisco) before realizing I missed the stunning vision of a dogwood tree blooming in a forest of oaks and pine. Had to move back this way and was lucky enough to land in Asheville! This place is full of great food, music, art and people...I love it! I've circumnavigated the world and know this to be the best spot to live.

Basics about me: Got my undergraduate degree at FSU, graduate degree at Vanderbilt, worked for the Peace Corps in Namibia, Africa, worked as a professional musician in Nashville, I've written and published my memoir and I'm looking for that next big hike in the back country. Life is stunningly beautiful!

Karen purchased this apartment in 2010

Why Karen chose Asheville Area

I always wanted to build my own house and when I moved to Asheville, I did! I designed it to meet my aesthetic needs for peaceful space and an open feel with Arts 'n Crafts details. Hardwood floors, outdoor fire pit, beautiful deck and being surrounded by trees were on the "must-have" list. It's a sanctuary and everyone feels it when they walk in. Perfect acoustics for a musician!

Asheville Apt

  • 5 of 5

The apt was beautiful and served our needs well. 2bathrooms! I have only one at home! Clean and had everything we needed. My only complaint was that the deck was poorly lit. Perhaps solar stair light could be addded .

Wonderful Stay

  • 4 of 5

Great location - just off I-40, close to downtown and right next to an entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Well maintained home with comfortable bed and plenty of space for 2 people. Not having a stove/range limits cooking but for a short stay or no desire to cook beyond a microwave it is great.

Location & Comfort All in One

  • 5 of 5

This rental was in a perfect location with easy access to major highways. Downtown was close and my daily trip to Arden to see my new grandson was an easy maneuver. Hostess Karen provided an updated comfortable one bedroom, 1.5 bath unit which fit our needs perfectly. There was even a small desk with good lighting which I utilized daily. Also, I have never seen a hostess provide such detailed recommendations. Very helpful!

Great location, accomodations and customer service

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Karen's In-law suite on our way to and from the Myrtle Beach area to visit family. She is super nice and so is the apartment. We aren't big TV watchers, so to comment on a previous reviewer- bring a laptop and enjoy the WiFi. We did watch some Netflix on our laptop and if you're wanting music you can also play that on a laptop. And as everyone else commented- it is just minutes to the Blue Ridge Parkway entrance and 15 minutes to downtown. It's actually attached to the larger house and located in the back. You do have a private deck and view of the wooded backyard. Wow....if I could ever live in Asheville- I would want to live here! Thanks, Karen, for opening your home to travelers. We hope to return! Great place at a great price.

A peaceful great location

  • 4 of 5

Our 2 nite stay in this mother- in -law suite was a delightful one. It's in a handy location to most anywhere in Asheville area. It was very clean and up to date interior and the bed was very comfortable. I would highly recommend this suite if you want to save on what can be an expensive area, but the owner is a friendly hostess who aims to please her guests.
