Description

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday home in Homestead - Redland Tropics

2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom Guesthouse On 5 Tropical Acres in the Redland

This Redland 1,200 sq. ft. concrete block guest house sits on 5 acres of tropical fruit trees including avocado, mango, ciruela, carambola, limes, lychee, longan, allspice and others. It is located in a very desirable area of the Redland, just a few miles north of downtown Homestead and just 20 minutes from Everglades National Park or Biscayne National Park and two marinas where you can launch your boat. Key Largo is 40 mn. south. The Redland Fruit and Spice Park is 1/4 mile away. The house is totally furnished with the highest quality of materials including: pillow-top mattresses, down pillows, down comforters, solid wood furniture and beds, mahogany nightstands and dresser, granite top nightstands and dresser, designer mirrors, granite kitchen, brand new solid wood kitchen cabinets, new all-stainless dishwasher, new garbage disposal, washer/dryer, 5 new ceiling fans, eleven chairs with leather seats, large pantry, Italian leather (Natuzzi) sofa and love seat, the highest-quality on the market plantation Polywood shutters throughout the home, hurricane accordian shutters on all exterior windows, large closets, several lamps with electrical outlets in their bases for easily charging devices and much more. There is a master bedroom (sleeps 2) with a king bed and another bedroom (sleeps 4) with a full-size bed and two twin beds. There are LED 1080p high-definition 32" SMART TVs in both bedrooms. A 7th person could sleep on the sofa or could request the use of an air mattress. Extra bedding would be provided. The master bathroom has a tub/shower. The hall bathroom has a shower. Both showers have frameless glass sliding doors. There is an electronic gated entry and new concrete driveway leading to both the front door and back door of this guest house. The back patio area is very large and will accommodate multiple vehicles, a boat, an rv, etc... Water is provided via separate well to the guest house. A water cooler and 5 gallons of drinking water provided. Electricity is not included in the rental price and is deducted from the damage deposit following check-out. Electricity runs $7 - $8 a day in the summer and probably is closer to $5 a day in the wintertime. There is a $50 cleaning fee and required taxes will be charged according to State of Florida and Miami-Dade County law. The home has a 3 ton central air-conditioning. A 17.5 alumacraft canoe and a 12' aluminum john boat are available for rent as well. Tropical fruit from the property is provided for guests when in season, depending on the fruit. Most fruits are in season from May through September, tapering off after September although some are still available nearly year-round (limes, carambola, and avocados). Netflix is provided at no charge as well as high-speed cable internet, which is hard-wired directly to the house. This then connects to a router so there is uninterrupted Wi-Fi throughout the home. You just need to type the password into your device, which is located on the router. There is a 50" LCD TV in the living room with an Apple box, which makes it a SMART TV as well, allowing for free Netflix and some other channels. A second sent of linens and towels are provided upon request for stays of 7 nights or more . There is no maid service. There is a large sink with hot/cold water on the patio out back with a separate set of hot/cold valves for washing and rinsing dive gear, snorkel gear, vehicles, boats, fishing equipment, etc... You may also clean your fish. A campfire pit with cooking grate is available and firewood may also be available, depending on the time of year. Absolutely no pets and not negotiable. We want to be able to cater to guests with allergies to pets. The rate is higher for NASCAR weekend (Nov. 17-20). PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT US ASKING TO RENT THE PROPERTY TO HOLD LARGE GATHERINGS, WEDDINGS, RECEPTIONS, CEREMONIES, PARTIES, ETC... THAT INCLUDE MORE THAN 7 PEOPLE. This is a vacation rental home in a very serene, quiet and peaceful property and we wish to keep it that way for our guests who come (most from far away) to enjoy their time 'away from it all'. This place truly is spectacular and we are confident that you will be glad that you chose to stay here.

About Owner/Manager

Married couple that just became 'empty nesters'. We are both educators and also tropical fruit farmers.

Owner/Manager purchased this house in 2015

Why Owner/Manager chose Miami-Dade County

Very secluded and private in the heart of the very desirable 'Redland' area of southwest Miami-Dade County, just minutes from Biscayne Bay, the Everglades, the FL Keys, factory outlets, and surrounded by south Florida tropical agriculture (fruits, vegetables, ornamental nurseries, tropical fish farms, etc.). This place is very private and you will feel like you are in the country.

What makes this house unique

Very large patio area for parking boats, multiple vehicles, RVs, etc. You can have a campfire, barbeque, clean your fish, wash your vehicles/boats, etc. on over 3,500 square feet of brand new concrete patio. The house sits on 5 acres of tropical fruit trees and has an electric gated entry way.

Excellent house to stay in

  • 5 of 5

The house was clean and comfortable. The welcome of a basket of fruit was an unexpected surprise that we all enjoyed. The property has many trees that we enjoyed harvesting fruit from. We enjoyed all interactions with the owners and their assistance with directions or locations was a real blessing. We will definitely be staying there again.

Quiet and Peaceful

  • 5 of 5

While we were attending family gatherings in the Homestead, Florida area, we discovered this beautiful home not far from out meeting location. This was just an added convenience to the already adorable home. With the 5 acres of orchard on the property to view or stroll through, our stay was quite relaxing and tranquil. The house itself had comfortable beds and nice amenities for everyone to feel thoroughly satisfied with their brief time there. We were able to achieve our main goal with our stay and that was to have time together in a place that was quiet and peaceful.

Wonderful place

  • 5 of 5

This guest house was clean, quiet, spacious, well stocked and in a beautiful setting. We appreciated the extra touches - the fresh limes, star fruit and avocados. The owner was very conscientious. It's very convenient to the Everglades and Biscayne National Park. We couldn't have found a nicer place!

Nice, clean, well maintened, and secure property

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for for 5 nights while fishing the Miami canals. We arrived a few hours earlier than anticipated and the home owners were very nice about letting us know the moment the house was clean and ready for us (3 hours before official check in time). The place was nice and clean and exactly as pictured in the photos. Since we had a boat with us, the large driveway and electronic gate were a huge plus. The only minor downside is the house doesn't have cable so we missed opening weekend of college football, but they did have Apple TV which was nice so we were able to stream some content via our iPhones. They also have Netflix as well, but I would just prefer cable. All in all though, that's a minor gripe, I would stay here again in a heartbeat. GREAT little pizzeria about a 1/4 mile down the street called Redlines too, be sure to check them out for some killer pies. Eric C

This property was amazing and meet all our needs!

  • 5 of 5

One of the items on our bucket list was to ride our motorcycles in the Keys and surrounding areas. This property made all of that possible. We had plenty of room to park our trucks, trailers and motorcycles. The central location of the property gave us easy access to the Keys, the Everglades, Biscayne Bay, Homestead Speedway, and Miami Beach. The house was perfect for our group of 7. We had plenty of room and a table large enough for us to all eat together. When we arrived we were greeted by the owner. He was very helpful in informing of us about the local stores for shopping and let us know to call if we needed anything. When one of our motorcycles would not start he was able to provide us with a battery charger and even provided us with a list of repair shops if we need one. The hospitality the Worthley Family showed was very much appreciated. If we ever travel to the area again we will definitely stay at Redland Tropics and will recommend the property to anyone visiting South Florida.

Comfortable, convenient and clean!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 1 week in mid-April. The property is located on a residential street in an area of Homestead that is primarily agricultural. We were surrounded on all sides by farms and orchards (including that of the owners), so evenings were invariably quiet and conducive to a good nights sleep. During the day it was lovely to look at all the lush greenery. Guests are encouraged to stroll the orchard and eat the fruit (although unfortunately it was not fruit season during our stay). The location is midway between Miami, Everglades National Park, and Key Largo, so it serves as a very convenient home base from which to visit these destinations. It consistently took us 45-60 minutes to drive to any of these destinations.

The property is a free-standing guest house behind the owners' residence. The entire property is accessed by an electronically-controlled fence and all doors on the guest house can be dead-bolted, so we did not feel like safety was an issue. The inside of the house itself is very comfortable and the mattresses/linens, sofa, and appliances seem new and of top quality. There is a king-size bed in the master bedroom (with adjoining full bath) and a queen-size bed and 2 twin beds in a second bedroom. There is a second full bathroom in the hall. My husband, my 2 kids and myself all had plenty of room and privacy. Each bathroom comes conveniently supplied with its own hair dryer, a generous number of towels, and enough shampoo, conditioner and body wash to last our family of 4 for an entire week. Other thoughtful touches include a jug of distilled water for the clothes iron, laundry detergent for the washing machine, and a full complement of cleaning and cooking supplies for the kitchen. It was like being at home--all our needs were already accounted for in the house, because who thinks about stuff like that when you are packing to travel?!

The owners, Wayne and Cristina, are friendly and professional. They keep the property clean and in good working order. They respond quickly to questions (we used texting as the means of communication), and are honest and prompt in sorting out the financial matters.

In all, this was a well-located "home base" from which to explore South Florida and a comfortable home-away-from-home to return to after a full day of activities. I recommend it wholeheartedly.
