A recreational bonanza on the water in the Adirondacks with 6 bedrooms and 4 baths. The "Adirondack Stags Leap" vacation home was built as a large single-family summer home in the 1930's in the historic Adirondack "Camp" style. It was designed by a well known Adirondack architect on a double lot that includes a wooded area, private tennis court, volleyball courts (sand & grass), large yard, fire pit, boathouse with dock and wide waterfront. This camp offers incredible recreation and living space for multiple couples, friends, or extended families alike. It is ideal for a revitalizing spring, a fun-filled summer and an adventurous autumn and the famous Adirondack color-changing leaves. We have magnificent trees on sight and the fall view of the hillside across the Channel is a must-see.
The Camp includes a comfortable lodge-style living room with fireplace and wide screen TV with cable with a selection of movie channels, a full kitchen with breakfast area seating 4-6 and butler's pantry, and a dining area with antique table seating at least 8-10. The kitchen opens up to a large deck (one of two decks) with picnic tables and barbecue nearby and traditional Adirondack chairs. Three of the 6 bedrooms offer king-size beds (linens provided) with private or semi-private bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms offer 2 twin beds each, one of which is on the first floor with easy access. an en-suite bathroom and TV. The sixth bedroom is a bunk room with two bunk beds; both beds are full-size on bottom and regular-twin on top. The home is fully heated with dual modern furnaces, if needed.
Outdoor living features a large screened-in porch with seating and a table, a sitting deck, the previously mentioned enormous off-kitchen deck, patio area and a large front lawn, providing ample space to read a book, hold great conversations, or just watch and wave as the boats go by on the channel. The property covers approximately 2.5 acres and includes rustic woods, private tennis court, sand volleyball court, basketball hoop, grass volleyball/badminton area (or bocce lawn), fire pit, patio sitting areas, waterfront dock, and a boat house with an open slip. We do not provide watercraft, but you are welcome to bring your own or rent from many local businesses - from paddle boats and kayaks to speed boats, and most things in between.
An attached laundry (accessible off the kitchen stoop) includes 2 washers/dryers for ample laundry capability. An ironing board and laundry baskets are available. The garage, accessed by ramp from the laundry, has a ping pong table, tennis gear, and badminton rackets. A few balls are also available for the basketball hoop or kicking around.
Although originally from Central and Northern New York, Clarkson University graduates Brian and Liz live most of the year in Tucson, Arizona. Both grew up in Central and Northern New York and spent summers on the fabulous Adirondack lakes.

We purchased this property for our children to enjoy the incredible Adirondack summers we experienced as kids. The contrast to our home in the Southwest Desert of Arizona is breathtaking, with the lush greens, cool summer nights, and fabulous water sports. A visit to the Enchanted Forest Water Safari waterpark, located a few miles away, is always on the list for the young children, teens, and even the young-at-heart. We also enjoy the incredible watercolor exhibit each summer at the View art gallery, and the many classes offered there, from basket weaving, to pottery, to yoga. And nearby Old Forge is a wonderful active community, with fun shopping adventures and the many events scheduled on the weekends throughout all seasons.
A stay at Stags Leap is our perfect unwind, whether participating in the on-site sports, lying in the hammock, or holding a fishing rod watching the boats go by. Although the house may be filled to capacity, there is always a special place for conversations in the numerous Adirondack chairs located about the sitting areas. Many days begin with a slow moving mist on the Channel which burns off as the sun rises. All through the day, sunny and shady areas with chairs can be found, and the evening sunset to the west - straight down the channel - is awesome from the dock and patio. Even on those rainy days, the screened porch and large lodge-style living room allow for fun weather watching, family games and movies by the cozy fireplace.
Great getaway for multiple family stay. Only downfall was comfort of the beds . Some people slept on couches due to hardness of beds. But everything else was awesome. Kids were never bored. Adults used tennis courts more than the kids. We saw a bear on a walk the very first morning we were there. Just a great place to vacation
The Enchanted Forest Water Safari, the largest water park in New York, is located in Old Forge, providing water rides and storybook fun for all ages.
