My wife and I have been married for over 38 years and this is our retirement home. I was a healthcare executive for 25 years and then taught advanced placement courses in public high school for eight years prior to retiring in 2014. My courses included AP US History and AP Comparative Government and Politics. Kristin, my wife, was an industrial engineer and specialized in statistical process control for a leading aeronautical firm. Like me, she also taught in public high school for a number of years as a second career. For eight years we also owned an operated a successful farm raising Irish Dexter Cattle. From our herd, two national champions in the youth division were raised and Charles served on the national board of the organization.
Charles is an avid bass fisherman and fishes numerous local and regional tournaments. If you are interested in fishing Lake Keowee, Charles can provided guided bass fishing at a very reasonable cost for half-day trips.
Looking at homes on Lake Keowee? We are happy to put you in contact with a local realtor that is highly recommended by our guests. Charles can even take you around by boat to see various areas from the lakefront on a per hour basis.
Kristin loves to hike the many trails that are located close by the area. She hopes to through-hike the Appalachian Trail in 2016!
You will be greeted by both of us typically and one of us is always available to provide any assistance you may need. We know you will enjoy the home on beautiful Lake Keowee. National Geographic ranked the Jocassee Gorges area 9th out of “50 of the World's Last Great Places” The clear waters of both lakes are some of the finest in the USA.
Charles Townson purchased this house in 2015
Close to Clemson (8 miles to stadium via Highway 123), lakefront on Keowee!
Private quiet neighborhood, very close to South Cove County Park. The Park offers tennis, safe walking/running area, and 3 boat ramps. Quiet private lakefront neighborhood.
We enjoyed our stay. The owners Charles and Kristen are very kind and helpful. The location and view was awesome! We hope to return to the area again and stay at this property.
Thank You. Tom and Jane Scannell
We had a wonderful stay with Charles and Kris. They stayed in touch with us prior to our visit, were great hosts, and we really appreciated their willingness to share their knowledge about the area.
Property owners Charles and Kristin were very friendly and helpful. Great communication prior to our arrival and during our stay. We look forward to visiting again and again.
Where to start! Charles and his wife are amazing people! Their home is everything they advertised and more! And if you are a fisherman and need knowledge of the lake, Charles knows it all! Not to mention a wonderful place to dock your boat! Tournament fishermen, look no further!! Thank you Charles, we loved our stay and can't wait to see you guys again!
The Townsons are wonderful and were very helpful. Their home is very convenient to everything. Would strongly recommend.
Just spent a wonderful week at this Lake Keowee property, our first time in South Carolina. Charles and Kristen were wonderful hosts- friendly, helpful and just fun to be around. The lower level of this gorgeous lakefront home is just as pictured. It's immaculate, cozy, comfortable and has the most awesome view of the lake. There is a topnotch gas grill on the patio with a nice dining table and chairs, and we had coffee, breakfast and many dinners there watching the wildlife in the yard and on the lake. The private dock is a great place for cocktails and sunset watching or peaceful reading, although it's a bit of a workout getting up and down the steps from the house. The small sand beach was great for access to wading in the lake, and although we didn't use the kayaks this time, it was nice to have the option. There is a beautiful park within easy walking distance, and Seneca is close to a lot of beautiful places and fun activities. We will most definitely be back to this place. Thanks so much Kris and Charles for sharing your wonderful spot.
Located within walking distance to South Cove County Park. Tennis courts, basketball court, boat ramps, park.
