Charming two-bedroom near downtown Newport and the beaches! The condo is located on the third floor of a historic building (no elevator). Once inside it has two levels connected by a spiral staircase. The condo has two-bedrooms and 1.5 baths. Fully furnished, with appliances. There is are air conditioners in each room for the warm summer months! Laundry facilities are also available onsite, and there is even a one car slot for off-street parking! You can easily walk to all the restaurants and the historic waterfront. There is one additional futon couch that pulls out into a double to accommodate more guests if needed.

Wonderful stay!

Our group of 3 stayed for 2 nights. We visited Newport to run the Newport half marathon. The apartment was so much nicer than we expected. Communication with the owners was great and we had no problems with parking or arriving at the unit.

The apartment itself was very cute and had everything we needed. A cozy living room, a kitchen that was stocked with everything we needed (mainly coffee for our early morning before our run).

We loved that it had a full bath downstairs and a half bath upstairs. Air conditioners through the entire unit kept us cool at night. We also loved that the unit had towels, blankets and toiletries, in case we forgot anything.

We loved the decor of the unit and the beds were comfy and we all had tons of space.

It was an easy walk to Easton beach (starting line) and an easy walk to bars/restaurants on Thames Street.

I would highly recommend this rental and would love to stay here again!

Also the owners seem like great people and made sure we had no problems with the unit.

Owner confuses historic with horid

You do not get a good first impression upon arriving at this condo. The carpet going up the stairs is filthy. When you get to the apartment it is immediately apparent that this unit has lacked attention for quite some time. It is moldy and hot when you arrive and you have to run the air conditioner for hours before the smell disappears. . From the claw foot bath tub which is stained beyond repair to the bath mat that was filthy. You have the feeling that this apartment has been neglected for years and it is only rented out to generate income and none of the money is put back into maintenance and repairs. The owner is difficult to deal with, and while some effort was made to appease us (The brought us a new bath mat and more ant traps). Yes, I said ants and they were everywhere. The owner said not to worry because they were only sugar ants. maybe she should consider listing them under the amenities section. Do not expect to get any relief from VBRO. The owner called them to complain about our complaints to her, and of course all of our complaints were disregarded. I asked to have my complaint escalated on August 12th. Today August 31st I still have not heard back. It is really a shame because with just a little attention it could be a really nice duplex apartment. Please be careful that anything that you touch in this apartment is dirty, and likely will break. The seats at the kitchen table are broken. The shower rod comes out of the wall. Do not forget the ants. The owners response to every complaint is that the property is listed as historic. I expected historic to mean charming. The owner apparently has a different definition. Historic does not make you expect ants in the apartment. Historic doesn't make you anticipate a moldy smell, or a stained bathtub. You can pay to have the tub re lined. Essentially the conditions are horrible, and you should not spend your vacation dreading coming back to a place you spent money on.

As soon as we saw the place we went to stop and shop to be paper goods and plastic utensils. We were afraid to use anything in the place.

Owner's Response: It would be useless to address any of the issues mentioned in this review; I would simply refer anyone interested in renting this property to read any and all of the other reviews regarding the description of the property and the standards of maintenance and cleanliness all other guests enjoyed. Left unsaid by this reviewer was the fact that, upon receiving their initial call upon arrival we responded in person within 1 hour to personally meet the two couple who were renting the property. The rental agreement stated there would be a couple staying at the property; upon my arrival I was surprised to find that in addition to the two people, there was an infant and other family members (in fact an extended family) staying with them that they did not list. The rental description also mentions that the condo is not child-friendly. Immediately upon meeting them we offered to arrange for them to stay at another property if they weren't satisfied, but they said everything was fine and satisfactory, and that would not be necessary. Again we would invite potential renters to read the other reviews for an accurate picture of the property.

Great place for a Newport getaway

My girlfriend, friends and I had a great time staying here and were able to walk to everything in town. Our hosts were so considerate and checked in a couple times to make sure we had everything we needed...they were so nice and even texted me before we arrived to give me more information about parking, etc. I recommend!

Great location in Newport!

Quiet, historic neighborhood close to everything we wanted. Can walk to many fun and scenic places. Comfy, light and good air conditioning during a hot weekend!
