Frank's beach is an afternoon sun beach on the west side of the island, and is a good place to view sunsets over Vancouver island.

One of our best anniversaries

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing time at the property for our anniversary. Grant was a very nice and hospitable person who made us feel welcome the second we arrived. He showed us around and we even walked our dogs around for a bit before he left. Our evening was very quiet and peaceful and it was exactly what we were looking for. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet relaxing getaway.

Beyond Our Dreams!

  • 5 of 5

Both the cabin and grounds are spacious and comfortable—well beyond what we would have imagined, given previous experience in vacation homes that welcome dogs. Grant is the ABSOLUTE BEST OF HOSTS: friendly, relaxed, informative, and gracious. Our dog had a great good time, what with the trails behind the cabin where he could be off-leash. We'll be back!

Perfect for parents, teenagers, and a dog.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed the deck for afternoon reading and dinner time grilling. With doors open, the dog was free to roam the enclosed yard. We launched kayaks from the beach just down the hill-a short drive. We took evening walks around the loop above the house. Highly recommend the house and Lummi Island experience.

Rustic cabin

  • 2 of 5

Cabin surroundings were nice, pretty quiet. Nice large trees and partial view of Mt Baker. Cabin needed to pay more attention to safety, emergency lights should be obvious. Could have been cleaner. Hot tub was unique and fun. Cabin interior was nice, outside areas need some work.

Owner's Response: You cannot please 100% of guests in any type of business There are 38 great positive reviews before this one. This chalet in the woods does not appeal to every one its all knotty pine very artistic full of carved ducks no soft carpeting very woodsy setting Sometimes a guest stays at lodging that does not suit them when they should have stayed elsewhere and then blames THIER unhappiness on the hired cleaning staff As stated on the property description ," guest house is located on a very steep hillside which can cause problems for persons with mobility issues unfortunately this house is not handicapped accessible " Sorry this caused issues for you .Wish you had contacted me first and mentioned you were bringing elderly grandparent There was an auto accident that knocked out the power lines one night of your visit . When this happens a guest can have a fire in the pot bellied wood stove providing heat , cooking and entertainment .Flash lights , first aid kit outdoor candles , matches , insect repellant are provided in the entry room l for the safety of my guests There is no electric lights in a power failure Do not expect electric lights in a pwer failure

Quiet location, beautiful cottage, great view, many amenities provided

  • 5 of 5

This was a great location that can sleep between 4 to 7 adults (depending on singles or couples). We did a guys trip with our friend's dog and it was relaxing and quiet. The owner was very helpful upon arrival and available if anything were to go awry (and nothing did). The island is small with few stores, etc., but the general store had anything we needed and more (expensive as to be expected so I recommend bringing food, drinks, sunscreen, etc.). There is not a ton of things on the island (which we gound refreshing) unless you enjoy hiking and taking in the various sites. The burger shop was amazing. The view from the cottage is amazing (water and Mt. Baker) and the sites around the island are great. I highly recommend this cottage for anyone looking to get away and basically relax (family, couples, friends, etc.)

Quiet, peaceful

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely loved this place. Grant, the owner, met us when we arrived and gave us the full tour. He was very helpful and accommodating. He had even put out a bowl of water for our pups.

The cabin is cozy, redone and inviting. There is a full sized kitchen, a large family room and multiple bedrooms. There is a great hot tub on the patio and a nice fenced area for the dogs.

The island is breathtakingly beautiful and allows for lots of hikes, reading, or just relaxing. It's remote and quiet but if that's what you are looking for, this is the place.
