We love Volcano, but especially this neighborhood by the golf course. Because of it's location, this area is much sunnier than most of Volcano (that's why they built the course here). It's a quiet and relaxing place. Warm sunny days and quiet cool nights. We love the view from the house and deck looking out over the backyard and golf course. This neighborhood also has nice wide paved streets, with little traffic, ideal for walking, cycling etc.
We live on the Kona side of the Big Island and Volcanoes is our favorite "getaway" spot for mini-vacations. We always enjoy our stays in the area, but my husband, sister and brother in law all agreed that this was one of the best vacation homes we've stayed in so far....and we've stayed in a lot!
The four of us were very comfortable in this two bedroom, one bath home. It was beautifully and tastefully decorated and the large, open deck area that overlooked the 11th hole of the golf course fit us to a tee! The weather was incredibly beautiful all weekend (rare for Volcanoes, but we appreciate all the weather variations there) and so the sunny, open deck was an absolute delight. We enjoyed the hot tub at night under brilliantly starlit skies.
Even though we love some of the restaurants in Volcanoes (like Thai Thai and Opelo Café) this time we enjoyed staying home and eating in more! Of course, we brought groceries with us, but the kitchen was well equipped and included modern, and well maintained appliances. There is a good sized dining table with very comfortable chairs that is situated in front of a large window that overlooks the yard and the golf course beyond (very pleasant).
The bathroom, was nicely done and the shower was a nice size with a rain shower head. We understand the catchment water system and so did not expect a huge amount of water pressure, but the volume was perfectly fine!
We made sure to leave this little jewel of a cabin in great shape when we left and the owners have returned our security deposit promptly. Jeff and Cathy were very responsive to our questions and open to our requests which we appreciated very much.
I am definitely keeping this vacation home on the list of places we hope to be able to return to soon!
I chose this luxury cabin because of it's proximity to Volcanoes National Park. And it sure was close!! This made it very easy to get to the park early before it became to busy or too hot. It was also easy to return to VNP at night and enjoy the Lava Lake. I would definitely stay in this cabin again and would certainly recommend it to others. It has a cottage feel, but a very modern kitchen and bathroom. The size was great for the four of us (hubby, 14-year old and 11-year old). We loved the large deck, hot tub and bbq.
The owners communicate promptly and efficiently. The kitchen is quite well-stocked with utensils and cookware. Keeping in mind it can be cooler at night and in the mornings in Volcano, the owners have made sure the bedrooms have extra blankets to help keep you warm and there are several space heaters. Once the sun comes up you won't need either of these things, but hubby and I were often up around 6 am and were appreciative of these items. (Kids got up around 8 and they were fine.) It was a different experience than we're used to in Hawaii, but absolutely enjoyable!! The cabin is fabulous and the pics represent well what you get to enjoy.
The cabin was perfect! Cozy and clean. Well equipped in a beautiful location. We will definitely be back!
Stayed two nights- beautiful cabin, great deck & hot tub. Attractively furnished with great kitchen. Would suggest wine & juice glasses as only kitchen improvement. Main issue is soft beds ( mentioned in 12/16 review). After a sleepless night, we spent the second one on futons provided by owner on the living room floor..please fix this, preferably with a king bed.
The cabin is very beautiful, cozy and clean! The location is great-so close to the Volcano national park! Everyone was happy with the place!
this house was awesome! The view was amazing and the home was splendid. Very cute and clean cabin adjacent to Volcano National Park in the town of Volcano, HI. It is located on a golf course and has a wonderful hot tub and lanai to enjoy the expansive views and watch Kilauea's glow at night. Close to town and restaurants (Volcano) and easily accessible. We loved our stay in your home and cannot wait to visit it again. Many Mahalos!
