The tent is in a secluded area in the trees hidden in a canyon, but still easy to get to with a car and well hidden from the main house.
Our goal is to make the tent and deck area wheelchair accessible, as well as all along the cliff edge, so everyone can enjoy.
Groups welcome in our other RV's (see our other listings link below Owner Information) and Tee-Pee Tent, or bring your own tent.
We are constantly making improvements and coming up with new ideas... so please mark us as a favorite and come back often to see whats new!
Just 5 beautiful winding canyon miles from Hot Springs.
Like a yurt tree house glamping tent ;)
We are a product of on online dating. Patricia moved from MN to the Northern Hills in 1979. Wade was born in Spearfish, but was living in Colorado, counting days until the next time he could get back the 'The Hills'.
Wade and Patricia Evans purchased this recreational vehicle in 2010
When we found the property online, we fell in love with the house... and Wade the shop. But after we came to see it in person and walked to the cliff... well, it was just amazing. You have to see it in person to understand. Everyday, we tell our 2 dogs and 2 cats, 'we are going to the cliff' and we all take a hike together, stopping just to sit and look. Seems like every hike, we see something new, we never noticed before. So nice here, we had our wedding at the cliff edge in 2012. We have a hard time figuring out where to 'go' for a vacation... we feel we are living in our perfect vacation spot and now we have discovered that we really enjoy sharing our favorite spot and the chance to meet new friends in the process.
We want every guest to feel right at home and provide everything you could ever need. We treat our guests as family... that traveled from across the country and have what they need to relax and prepare for the best vacation possible. We know most families only get 1 or 2 vacations a year, we are very honored to be a part of that experience.
We not only stayed here, we had our wedding performed here!!! Most definately a romantic and peaceful setting. Sibley tent was very private and perfect for our wedding night! We will be coming again! Thank you Wade and Patricia for making our wedding and stay there memorable and everything we would have ever wanted! You certainly went above and beyond! I felt compelled to write this after reading the review which stated that they felt uncomfortable and exposed. Not true in our opinion!
We stayed here for a weekend the end of September. The Sibley tent, while on a property with other rentals, feels like it is isolated from the world with all the conveniences you need for a comfortable stay. The bed was wonderful and I've decided an outdoor shower should be part of every home. Wade and Patricia were great host with a beautiful property.
Remember when you were a kid and used to set up tents in the living room? Well I have found our favorite "grown up tent"! Not since childhood have I had those feelings of excitement with "our tent." It has EVERYTHING you need to feel safe, snug, cozy and fun. We intended on spending most of our days hiking and exploring the hills, but fell in love with the tent and ended up spending half our days there. Everything was more fun then home - cooking, showering (LOVED showering outside with the smells of the pines and the fresh air) watching Direct TV (Treat) reading in the comfy chair by the lamp, keeping the stove going in the tent to provide our heat. It felt like primitive camping with sweet little luxuries and added touches. The bed is amazing (memory foam) slept great! The lights strung around the outside deck and the bed inside provide nice ambiance as well. They have a college fridge, grill, cupboard with basic supplies for cooking and a nice metal fire pit on the deck with chairs. And did I mention the scenery! Absolutely gorgeous! Their property overlooks awesome views of the black hills, yard is welcoming with Frisbee golf and horse shoes. All camping areas are spaced very far apart so you have lots of privacy. I cant toot this horn enough - this was just what we needed for a relaxing get away. One problem......it wasn't long enough! Thanks so much Wade and Pat for your hospitality and sharing your slice of heaven!
This place was amazing! Such a beautiful setting and so peaceful. The accommodations were so neat and creative. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We loved it!
Words do can not adequately describe how impressed we were with our stay.
From the moment we pulled up, to the moment we left, we felt at home. Had we felt any more comfortable with Wade and Patricia we would have found ourselves walking in their home to borrow a cup of sugar. That is how they make you feel.
We slept better, and enjoyed our stay more in the tent, than we ever felt staying in some of the nicest hotels in Las Vegas. It has all of the comforts of home you could ever need.
When was the last time you walked into your hotel room and found a hand written note, a gift, and a signed card?? Probably never. Unless that is you have stayed here.
If you want to experience a romantic get away with your significant other, you can stop looking. This is the only place you'll ever need.
Then again, maybe I should tell you it's terrible. That way you won't book it for one of the few weeks I'm booking it for next year.
Thanks again Wade and Patricia! See you next year!
