Why Brian Patterson chose Grand Canyon

We fell in love with this house because of the location and feeling of the home. Has great sized yard, pine trees, and views from the front. And, being able to just walk downtown for dinner or an ice-cream cone is great. Kids love roasting marshmellows in the outdoor fireplace at night.

What makes this house unique

Great views of downtown and the mountains. Our property feels rustic being in pine trees yet 1/3 mile walking distance to Route 66 and 1/2 mile walk to Grand Canyon Railway train.

Nice house- pluses and minuses

  • 4 of 5

Roomy and clean- however not good for handicapped or elderly. Way too many steps and stairs. Backyard was a mess- too many weeds everywhere to go out and enjoy patio there. Gameroom has ONE sleepable bed - not trundle bed AND a twin as we read the write-up. There is just a trundle. (for one adult) Bad smell down in basement too. (cats?) The kitchen was well stocked and the towels and bedding were wonderful. Very nice quality. Big, newer washer and dryer which was nice. The couch and the massage chair were great! Big, roomy refrigerator- even though the kitchen is super small. Lots of nice dishes, pots and pans and utensils. Quiet area and good view of town from house.

A quaint traditional home with what you need while away

  • 4 of 5

Two families: A group of 10, stayed 8 nights rather comfortably. Our host, Brian, purchased and delivered two twin air mattresses as our 6 foot tall teenagers just couldn't share twin beds in the game room. Lol! We used this home as a base while exploring the Grand Canyon and surrounding beauty of the area of Williams, Flagstaff, Sedona, the Hoover Dam, Oatman, and a host of other sights and shopping. We cooked in the well stocked kitchen and used the gas grill for 2 steak nights! Just to let you be prepared: neither bathrooom has an exhaust fan, the master (3/4) bath is tiny with a super small shower (big and/or talls will just not fit comfortably), and you need 3 prong adapters, which are there, for many of the outlets throughout the house. But don't sweat the small stuff........This is not a Modern high end place to stay, but a quaint traditional home with the basics of what you need while away.

Williams is great and close to Grand Canyon!

  • 4 of 5

We arrived at the house after visiting the Grand Canyon around 9pm. Before we went to bed, we turned on some music on the tv, opened the back screen door and sat on the back porch. We couldn't see any stars because it was overcast but the weather was so perfect. Some of the house is updated and some still needs work. It was a little awkward with the dish washer in the middle of the kitchen but we didn't cook and just used the coffee pot. The master bath is really small so we all used the guest bathroom, which worked ok. We liked the game room downstairs. Played some foosball and daughter played with the Lincoln Logs. 2 of us slept well and the other 2 of us slept ok - the beds are really firm, which I'm not used to. Other than that the stay was comfortable! Brian communicated through text (which I prefer) very well! He was quick with getting back to me. We followed house rules for check out and it was quick and easy. Would def stay here again next time we go to the Grand Canyon.

We had a lovely stay while visiting the Grand Canyon. The children especially enjoyed the fuzball table and the wifi.

Wonderful time. Fine place.

  • 5 of 5

The house is strategically placed in Williams, AZ, 75 minutes from the Grand Canyon, 35 minutes from Flagstaff, and 3+ hours from the Hoover Dam. During our stay, we sought a place reasonably convenient to the above, and Williams was the best location. The house was quite comfortable and had the right furnishings for our needs. There were plenty of pots and pans, dishes, flatware, glasses, towels and even hotel/motel soaps and shampoos (nice touch). We appreciated the availability of laundry equipment in the basement. The massage chair got rave reviews. We utilized the BBQ grille in the backyard one evening. This was a splendid time, although we suggest that the patio stones and transition from one level to the next, be looked at for improvements; we had two tripping events on the patio at the transition from the lower patio to the upper level, and one from the house to the platform outside the patio door. All-in-all, the house was quite comfortable and priced right.

Great stay

  • 4 of 5

I had a great time at the house. Everything was there and much more. One suggestion for the owner is to keep some cabinets empty for the guest own kitchen items and to reduce the abount of kitchen items. Just way too many.

Will stay there again in a flash
