About Michelene

David and I are health and fitness junkies, foodies, outdoor enthusiasts, and world travelers. We have an appreciation for the hustle and bustle of the city life and greatly enjoy diversity and cultures yet, we cherish the sweet escapes into the outdoors to witness nature at its finest.

Why Michelene chose Lexington

David and I fell in love with this property from the moment we drove onto the grounds. We've been searching for a property for several years with the intentions of building a home spacious enough to comfortably accommodate our families and friends, grounds large enough for hiking, biking, snowmobiling, and 4-wheeling yet, close enough to: the best mountains in New York for skiing, and great restaurants and nightlife. Adding more appeal to our hidden gem, it is just a short and easy 2 hour drive from NYC. We ultimately wanted a place where our kids can enjoy the outdoors and our families can come together on weekends, and holidays. After making wonderful memories, we decided to share our home with others to make cherished memories and have enjoyment in our home as we do.

What makes this estate unique

The land and views alone will leave you in awe. The house is a precious gem to say the least. Our uniquely built home encompasses vaulted ceilings with windows offering panaramic views, radiant heating, hand made wooden: cabinets, doors, bars, carpentry, hardwood floors and, custom metal work throughout the home with an artistic impression. All the exquisite details reveal a passionate touch behind the workmanship. Our property also has a barn with chicken coop, goats, and a stable for our free ranging horse, Ed; feed him apples and you will have made a new friend.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thanks for making our New Years weekend fabulous! We enjoyed your beautiful home & hiking on the property. Our favorite moments were cooking a 12 course NYE dinner and we loved your movie room, the beautiful wooden fixtures, the wonderful fire place and community farm house table. Warmest Wishes for a wonderful next year.

All the best,

The Alex Clan.

P.S. Thanks to Tom for the delicious cake!

Unique Property, Thoughtful Owner

  • 5 of 5

Property is one-of-a-kind, house is filled with detail. In our experience rooms were well-kept and amenities as advertised (hot tub, movie room, tennis court, pond). The caretakers on the property went the extra mile. Aside from the essentials the house has big dining & sitting spaces and sweeping views of lawns and mountains all around. I also appreciated the clear terms & communication from Michelene. Great experience.

Owner's Response: Eric and his family were wonderful guests! I would definitely rent my home to them again. From the begining Eric was professional, kind, and respectful. It was very easy speaking and working with him. Eric and his family kept my home maticulously clean, respected the house rules, and truly appreciated my home and its surrounings. I look forward to hosting the again in the near future. He was an ideal guest.

A wonderful respite in the mountains

  • 5 of 5

We loved visiting Eagle View and experiencing the natural beauty of the country and the estate. Living at the Jersey shore, we didn’t know how a trip to the mountains would compare. Well, Eagle View stands on its own merits. It provides a sense of freedom and inner calmness. There are no crowds looking for parking spaces- no signs telling you where you can or can’t go. It has trails through the beautiful mountains appealing to all senses with the foliage, and with colorful birds weaving and gliding between the trees. We enjoyed the sounds of the babbling brooks and waterfalls. A fallen tree branch lent itself to a walking stick. Just breathing the air becomes an exhilarating experience.

The interior of the beautiful home is spacious with big windows, and very romantic with private balconies off the bedrooms, spiral stairs to upper rooms, and private jacuzzi and sauna in some rooms. The doors and molding are a rich, dark chocolate color with unique and intricate carvings. The huge sitting room is so inviting with comfy couches and fantastic views with high glass windows. This room is topped off with a truly awesome fireplace that extends from the floor to the open cathedral ceiling. The total interior design is very eclectic, from a kitchen that would bring to mind a fairy tale in the Black Forest to an African Retreat with all the wood carvings throughout the house. Every corner of this house has an interesting piece of art or décor.

While I've just lightly touched upon the design, the appliances and conveniences are very modern, with a kitchen that contains at least three grills, ovens, with an accompanying outdoor fire pit and gas barbeque. There is also a walk-in refrigerator/freezer and laundry room.

There are all kinds of fun things to do with a pool table, dart board, boxed games, and my personal favorite (because it brings back childhood memories ) Ping Pong. There is also a state-of-the-art home theater for watching your favorite movies. Outdoor fun includes a hot tub, where you can relax to the sound of the rippling waters from the nearby falls while you sip a glass of Merlot. If you like, you can play a riveting set of tennis on the hard court on the grounds as well. And we will never forget being greeted by the gentle horse and goats that live on the beautiful property! All in all, it was the perfect place to be a hiker/writer/dreamer.

We look forward to returning soon!

Great Family Weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

We spent New Years Eve weekend here with our family and extended family. The house is amazing, better than pictures! The owners were very helpful and the nearby property manager was on the spot if we had a question. We truly enjoyed its amenities and all the comforts of home. The WIFI is weak - so if you are dependent on it - you will have intermittent service. It was not a problem for us and forced the kids to play games and communicate instead of being on their phones! We truly enjoyed our stay and will be back!

Fabulous mountain retreat!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I recently had the great pleasure to experience Eagle View ranch in the Catskill Mountains of New York, an easy drive from our home in Northern New Jersey. Eight of us, ages 19 to 60-something, arrived there for a long weekend in late October and were immediately blown away by the stunning natural beauty of the surrounding area, the estate grounds, and the house itself.

The estate sits on some 200 acres of beautifully landscaped property within a naturally wooded setting, offering, among other features, miles of hiking trails featuring cabins and other out-buildings, a lovely pond (with dock and small boat) for fishing in warmer months and ice skating in Winter, a stable housing a horse, goats, and chickens, an all-terrain vehicle course, tennis court, and more. Top-flight skiing at Windham and Hunter Mountains is available just minutes away.

The main house looks out onto a neighboring mountain and features spectacular views. There are spotting scopes and binoculars in the house for guests to use to look for eagles and other indigenous animals, as well as for observing the the starry night skies.

Regarding the main house, it is simply unique! From the overall architectural design to the smallest detail, not one square inch has been overlooked. Walls of glass, a massive family room with a 30 foot fireplace, gourmet kitchen with a commercial walk-in refrigerator, hand-carved wooden doors and drawers, bedrooms featuring fireplaces and jacuzzi tubs, a media room with theater seating, pool room-the list could go on and on but, suffice to say, guests will never lack for comfort and activities to enjoy.

Perhaps the single most memorable element of this jewel of a property was the hospitality that was shown to us by our hosts, David and Michelene, and their full-time caretakers, Tomas and Sylwia (who live in a separate house on the grounds). David and Michelene made every effort to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Tomas and Sylwia, wonderfully gracious and kind people, greeted us upon our arrival, made sure that the house was in order and that we had everything we could possibly need and more throughout the weekend!

We would love to return, perhaps in Winter to enjoy some cold-weather sports, but the estate has such charm that any time of year would still be a treat for the senses. I'm already thinking of a graduation party or, perhaps a family reunion, or, maybe a wedding? I would happily reserve Eagle View for any event.

Great house!

  • 5 of 5

We are so glad that we picked this property for our corporate gateway...the house has a well thought-out layout with great craftsmanship and unique furniture pieces- we were like kids in a wonderland; discovering clever design elements and things to do there until the last day. It was very relaxing yet adventurous and the owners were nice and accommodating!

Best Vacation of Our Lives

  • 5 of 5

Serenity. Tranquility. Adventure. This getaway provided a smorgasbord of experiences that usually requires years of vacations to attain!!!

We were a group of 5 couples and life-long friends aspiring for a vacation experience different than the cliche all-inclusive trip to Dominican Republic/Punta Cana/Mexico or cash-splurging trip to Las Vegas. What we found is what can only be described as a diamond in the rough. From my initial conversation with the owners, David and Michelene, I was sold on what they assured us would be a memorable trip. As I got my first glance at this breathtaking estate, I quickly realized that the website's pictures did not do the property justice; it literally takes your breath away. The landscaping, which includes ponds, streams and hiking/biking trails, is stunning. The peacefulness of the property, howver, pails in comparison to the Mansion on the Mountain. We were met by Tom and Sylvia, the property's caretakers, at the door. These two saints had the home in pristine condition and fully stocked with every item we could have ever wanted/needed - down to the hundreds of pieces of firewood that kept the 50-foot fireplace roaring for our entire four-day stay. Tom checked on us several times a day to ensure that all appliances were functioning properly ensuring the house was fully stocked. Admittedly, we were a little skeptical about squeezing 5 couples into one home. Those fears were quickly spelled when the couples saw the spacious, unique features each of their private bedrooms had to offer (collectively including saunas, spas, jacuzzis, large LED TVs and more). Let's not forget the in-home movie theater with recliner seating. The focal point of the home is by far the world-class kitchen and family room. The designers of this home spent unimaginable focus on every unique detail of the interior design of the home. The kitchen includes a full, 8-range gas stove, double-oven, and in-door gas microwave/grill. It's hands down the most beautiful home I've ever stepped in. We spent our time relaxing, hiking, playing games, taking in the views, preparing epic meals, and drinking on the outdoor patio and fire pit. When our thirst for adventure struck, we hit the slopes at Hunter and Wyndham Mountains, which were conveniently only 15 minutes away!!!

Thank you David and Michelene. The 10 of us gathered each night for what we called Family Dinner. Your hospitality is what made those family dinners feel like home.
