Beach House Villas are located in a peaceful, gated community on Harbor Island which is between Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA and just 14 miles from Beaufort, SC. If you're coming to town for Marine Graduation, we are only 23 miles (about 35 minutes) from Paris Island.

This is truly a historic area with Charleston, Beaufort or Savannah making fabulous day trip destinations. On Harbor Island, the three outdoor pools, tennis courts, a putting green, and three miles of pure, untamed, sandy white beach create a private vacation destination unlike any other. Stroll along the beach and marshes and discover the abundant island wildlife, including terns, pelicans, egrets, herons, and horseshoe crabs, or sit on the sandy dunes bask in the sun while the dolphins play.

Dine at wonderful nearby restaurants that specialize in local fresh cuisine or prepare your own from fresh local seafood markets in your fully equipped kitchen.

The natural beauty of Harbor Island and the geographic location creates a setting and vacation retreat experience worth repeating.

Why Jenn chose Beaufort area

We fell in love the with the area and Harbor Island in particular. Our first walk on the beach was amazing...the beach is unspoiled, the sand is white, the birds and wildlife you encounter are breathtaking. As we made our way back to the beach boardwalk we spotted dolphins playing in the the water off the beach. The condo is very homey, it is a great size for our family of 4, having a bath and a 1/2 is great, too. Also, you can view 1 of the *3 pools from the balcony, which I think is a nice perk. This property and its location offers a truly relaxing beach experience. *please note: The pools close between November 1st and April 1st.

What makes this condo unique

The condo's front row location is one of the best in the complex. You'll enjoy direct oceanfront views. Don't like bugs, well you're in luck, our porch is screened so you can sit out in peace. The condo is centrally located so day trips to Savannah, Charleston and Beaufort are all just a short drive away. There are 3 pools to enjoy, tennis courts, basketball court (the boys love that), sand volley ball court, work out room. bicycle rentals and small gift shop on the premises - all of which, as our guest, you'll have access to.

We're back home after a wonderful time in your condo. Thank you so much for allowing us to spend time there. The condo was well equipped, beautifully decorated and clean.

The screened porch was indeed used for coffee and tea in the morning, but was also used for a glass of wine or two in the evening. We loved the view. We would definitely come back. I enjoyed the condo as a base to show my friends around my childhood home, thank you for that opportunity. And our golden retriever was in heaven!

Harbor Island is part of the 350,000-acre ACE Basin this is one of the largest undeveloped estuaries along the Atlantic Coast of the United States. Located primarily in Colleton and Beaufort counties in South Carolina, the Ashepoo, Combahee and South Edisto rivers combine into the larger St. Helena Sound and drain a significant portion of the Lowcountry region. The 350,000 acrea area is renowned for its extensive natural beauty and commitment to preserve marshes, wetlands, hardwood forests, and riverine systems and the various fauna that occupy the area.

Perfect and beautiful location.

Wonderful visit. Condo was great loved the screened porch. Had everything we needed. The elevator was a plus with our pets. Everyone we came in contact with was nice. I highly recommend this condo. Jenn was awesome to work with. The only down side was we only scheduled 1 week and not 2. Did not want to leave.

Beautiful and peaceful

This was our 2nd stay in this condo! We liked it so much we decided to return with the kiddos! We love SC and Harbor Island! We definitely be returning. The kids loved it soooo much as well. Thank you so much for another unforgettable vacation and an opportunity to let out kids experience the ocean for the first time as well!

Disappointing experience

We chose this condo based on location and positive reviews. Unfortunately we did not have the same experience as some previous reviewers. I'll try to sum up with Pros/Cons:


Great location, short walk across the boardwalk to the beautiful beach.

WIFI and A/C worked great all week (we did have to reset the router when we arrived).

Size of the condo worked well for us (2 adults, 1 child, 1 dog).


1. Poor communication and slow response time. I paid w/PayPal because of a glitch with the HomeAway system, and for both payments it took several days to get confirmation my money was received. I was even sent a message that my first payment was NOT received and they couldn't hold the condo any longer (when in fact my payment had been received over a week earlier)

2. Lack of proactive customer service. We arrived to find a broken dishwasher (with lots of dirty dishes inside) and broken sink disposer. There was no dishwashing liquid so we couldn't hand-wash anything the first day. The previous renters had scaled and fried fish in the condo and threw fish pieces down the kitchen sink (in spite of broken disposer) so the entire week there was a foul odor coming from the sink. We realize the owner can't control when an appliance breaks or when a guest is inconsiderate, but we did expect a much more proactive and customer-friendly response when we brought up the issues. The one concession the owner made was only after I requested it, and even then she pointed out that she was not obligated to do anything under the hold harmless clause of the rental agreement.

Bottom line: We loved Harbor Island, but we will stay elsewhere when we return. Too many avoidable hiccups from start to finish and the customer service fell way short for us.

Owner's Response: Leigh, Thank you for your review - we appreciate your feed back. Our guests comfort is of the utmost importance to us. We are sorry that the dishwasher was broken. As you pointed out by mentioning our numerous other great reviews, this is not the norm. Dave and I strive to provide a nice condo, at a fair price for hardworking folks to spend thier vacation. Since purchasing the condo we've made many upgrades and improvements and take pride in the condition of our unit, its location and the customer service we provide. We were alerted by our housekeeper 2 hours before your arrival that we had a situation with the dishwasher. We tried to alert you of this issue with a sign on the washer asking you not to run it, but it was run despite the note and this caused the backup. When you called and said you ran the washer even though it was marked not to, I offered, at my expense, to send my cleaner back over to reclear the blockage and resanitize the sink; you declined. Despite the fact that this is the biggest summer holiday (4th of July) we had a plumber there in less than 24 hours. We purchased a new disposal and dishwasher and offered to have them installed Wednesday or Thursday when our plumber returned from his 4th of July holiday. You asked to have him wait until you departed...we respected your request and had it installed after you left. Our condo now has a brand new disposal and dish washer. Prior to and during your stay, we were in contact via email over 15 times, via text more than 8 times, and many times we spoke on the phone. I called you back promptly and did all I could do to assist. All other renters paid via VRBO. We do not recommend paypal but as you were having difficulties using VRBO, we made an exception. I am glad to read that you enjoyed Harbor Island and all its natural beauty. It really is a very special place.

Awesome condo, great location, easy access to pool and beach

We stayed the week before Father's Day, loved the condo it was everything they said it was and more. The owners were responsive to our needs. The only thing I would have liked to see was more grilling utensils other than that everything was as advertised. 20 minute drive to Beaufort was well worth it quaint town with lots of sightseeing. Day trip to Savannah was well worth the trip as well. The beach was very peaceful and relaxing. Got to see dolphins chasing the shrimp boats. Ate lots of fresh shrimp from Gay shrimp company and a must get is the shrimp burger from the shrimp shack. Loved the trip and we are looking forward to return next year.
