Relaxing and Peaceful

  • 5 of 5

The home was in a perfect location and only 15 minutes from Sturgeon Bay. The view from the living room was gorgeous. We walked on the beach and it went on forever. Perfect for a girls weekend away since there was enough space for all of us and two bathrooms!

Nice place, steps away from Lake Michigan

  • 4 of 5

Very nice place. Literally steps away from Lake Michigan. Beautiful sand beach, Adirondack beach chairs, campfire area. The home appears to be an original dwelling (the A frame in the pictures) with a nice addition of living room, huge kitchen, bathroom #2, laundry room and large bedroom. 2 wood burning stoves kept us toasty warm. The original dwelling did not have heat, so the wood burner was welcome. There was no firewood provided, so if your trip brings you to use the full house in the chilly weather, pick up firewood and fire-starting material locally. Nothing beats the sound of Lake Michigan from the house. Well stocked kitchen with lots of cooking utensils, two full sized refrigerators on the property.

Secluded piece of paradise!

  • 5 of 5

What an amazing hidden hideaway! I have debated in doing this review for purely selfish reasons, but I decided to share some info about this fabulous gem. The view and location is absolutely perfect. There were 9 of us on our getaway, and the house was plenty spacious for us. Having the kitchenette was perfect, all the liquids went in the kitchenette and food to the kitchen. Those of us with Verizon had spotty service, the others had nothing. Originally we thought it might be an issue, but it turned out to be a good thing. We spent a lot of time talking and laughing, but most of our time was spent relaxing watching the waves. We left the house to tour a few wineries, and found ourselves just wanting to go back to our own secluded paradise. We walked the beach for miles, collected rocks, relaxed and painted. Cannot wait to schedule our return trip! Just a few notes, if you're afraid of spiders be prepared, the dishwasher leaves dishes more dirty coming out, just save yourself the trouble and hand wash, or bring disposable plates and silverware. There is a coffee pot and a keurig. Plenty of serving bowls and plates. There isn't air conditioning, but we basically left the windows and patio doors open the whole weekend, the breeze off the lake was incredible, as was the sound of the waves. If you are looking for a place for a getaway that is close enough to wineries, but far enough away to still feel like a vacation, look no further!

A prize of a place!

  • 5 of 5

Loved this beach house, location, and view. Had everything we needed and more. Painting planks and beach rocks was great fun, even at age 58! So cute, very clean. Definitely plan a return visit.

Perfect get away weekend

  • 4 of 5

The VIEW!!! I’ll say it again – THE VIEW!!!! It was breathtaking all day long. The sunrise, warmth and waves during the day and the beautiful moon glistening on the lake with endless stars. Being able to fall asleep with the sound of waves was beyond relaxing. The beach is very well kept and the sand was so soft. The home was very welcoming. There was a basket of paint and brushes to put our own touch on rocks found on the beach or a plank down to the beach was very unique.

Our trip was for girl’s weekend (9 of us total) and a birthday celebration. The house was spacious with plenty of sleeping room. Two kitchens and two bathrooms were very useful to all of us. There were many flies, but that is part of nature and outdoors. Also depending on your cell phone carrier there may be no cell service, which may be welcomed by people looking to really get away. There is a house phone to use in case of emergency.

We have already discussed our return trip to White Sands Hideaway!

Lovely, Spacious and Quiet

  • 4 of 5

Great location, nicely decorated, with everything you could want. We had the house opened up for nearly the whole stay, enjoying the fresh air and the sound of the waves. The beautiful beach is just steps from the door, and the bedroom is nicely dim all day, perfect for napping. There were a few annoyances, like an ineffective dishwasher and very dull knives, but that's part of the charm, right?

Don't miss Scaturo's bakery in Sturgeon Bay. I enjoyed Marchant's bratwurst and trippe, too.
