Very nice property

  • 4 of 5

We had a great week in this comfortable home. Convenient location, room for all family members to spread out in various corners of the house in different combinations. Kitchen for the cooks, breakfast on screen porch, TV in the living room. Quiet setting. Convenient to both sides of the island. Very close to great swimming.

Would recommend.

Great property in a great location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed 8 nights at this fabulous property and I highly recommend it. Centrally located so each town on the island is only 15 minutes away. But quiet and private so we could retire peacefully, cook a good meal, and enjoy some family time. Beds were all comfortable and the kitchen very well appointed. Patrick was very responsive to questions and very helpful. Definitely would stay here again.

This is a comfortable home, in a lovely private setting.

Plenty of room for 6 women friends for gather and explore the amazing Acadia National Park region and surrounds. Biking and hiking abound. Want to return for kayaking as weather didn't co-operate this time.

Peaceful & relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Loved this house! Each evening we were serenaded by a great horned owl & loons form the near by pond. The dogs loved the yard, woods and trails. Another visitor commented that they were able to see the Milky Way- and thanks to the beautiful weather so were we!

A real treat!

I fell in love with the master bedroom - tying the blinds up allowed the room to be filled with beautiful light. Exploring the trails was an adventure - it was a little difficult at times to find the orange markers, but I had fun. The pond is beautiful! If you plan on walking the trails make sure to wear bug spray! The mosquitoes were AWFUL! Even with "OFF" they were persistent.

The location was perfect, loved being central to pretty much everything. 15 minutes from Bar Harbor, about the same from the villages of NE Harbor and Southwest Harbor.

Great memories of Quiet Stables. Thank you to Patrick for the opportunity to stay here!

Off the beaten path, but in the middle of it all.

  • 5 of 5

I loved the serene setting of this property. We stayed five nights and found it the perfect base camp for exploring MDI. Set on a quiet road on the island's saddle, less than a 3 mile bike ride to Somesville and the Sound, under a mile to the Little Round Pond boat (or kayak) launch and ten minutes to Bar Harbor, the location of Quiet Stables helped us squeeze the most out of our vacation. I was biking on the Eagle Lake carriage road 30 minutes after arriving.

The house itself is clean and comfortable, not at all dated. It was nice being on one level and not having to deal with stairs after hiking or mountain biking all day. We used the garage a lot, to stash our gear and toys when not in use, and as a staging spot for our adventures. Even the garage was clean. The large kitchen is exceptionally well-appointed and made eating-in a breeze, although I was glad I brought a good knife and cutting board. The gas grill is brand new. We didn't use the screened porch much, but if the bugs had gotten much worse we would have. The wifi and cable were recently updated and worked well our entire stay. Cell service is spotty at best - I had to stand on the picnic table to maintain a signal.

If pressed to find faults with this property I would say the picnic table could be replaced and maybe some of the chairs on the porch. But would be nitpicking.

This place is great. I would stay here again without hesitation.

Quiet Stables House and Barn

  • 5 of 5

Myself, and some family members stayed at Quiet Stables ,after coming up to Acadia for the night sky festival. The home is really quite spacious and clean with plenty of space . It is so quiet . The stars were fantastic and you could clearly see the milky way. One night of the festival we chose to stay at the house ,rather then go up to Cadillac Mountain. We saw so many falling stars and enjoyed just being steps away from the home. I would be more then happy to stay there again some day. I would recommend staying here.
