Our home has a real country feel, with a wonderful front wrap around porch and a small little upper balcony. The backyard has a cottagey feel with a brick patio and a long winding brick pathway that leads you to our big seasonal garden, which has a pumpkin patch and grape vines among other seasonal vegetables. Lots of different perennial flowers throughout the one acre property, which makes us want to always be outside!
Lovely and spacious home right in the heart of everything. Our host was accommodating and responsive. We loved visiting Amish country and felt right at home here.
This is a spacious and beautiful country house with a lovely, extensive garden. The house was warm and welcoming and full of lovely things and tasteful furnishings. This is a home not a holiday let, with a real feeling of love and kindness. We were an extended family of five celebrating several big zero birthdays. This was such a happy place to be in, we all felt very happy and enjoyed our week there, I wish we had longer. We were warmly welcomed by Darlene who had provided bread, cake and a bottle of bubbly to get us started.
If you love Amish country, you must go here.
We spent July 4 weekend with my nephew in the heart of Amish country. The house is cozy, clean, and beautifully decorated. We loved the house so much, that we chose to grill dinner on the back patio (beautiful) and we made breakfast every morning and enjoyed in the wonderful breakfast nook. What a wonderful experience. Darlene is the perfect host and we so much appreciated all of the thoughtfulness of making this home the perfect getaway.
My family and I had a wonderful stay. The home was immaculate and had a cozy, just-like-home feeling. The location is perfect and we never drove more than 15 min to a destination/activity. It was a great way to spend our vacation and Darlene and Robert were extremely accommodating. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!
This is a wonderful home in the center of Pennsylvania Dutch (Amish) country.
Our host, Darlene, warmly greeted us and made us immediately at home. Her care and interest in ensuring our comfort and familiarity made our stay a delight. Her care also translates into a spotlessly clean home -- with plenty of charm.
While we stayed indoor during a rainy December, the home is equipped with plenty of outdoor space, grill and a breezy and shaded patio.
There are three bedrooms upstairs, including a large master, with one bath upstairs and a second full bath with shower downstairs. We configured to girls up, guys down. Plenty of dining space and a large screen tv with satellite service.
From this home you will regularly hear the clip-clop of Amish horse and buggies. I visited a nearby store where I was the only "Englischer", PA dutch spoken -- and illuminated only by gas lights.
Check for availability and enjoy your stay.
What a home! And I say home not house because this place and its owner, Darlene exuded such warmth and hospitality that we felt as if we had come home. Not only is the house beautiful and immaculate, but Darlene made sure it had everything we could ever want or need! The grounds behind the home are as immaculate as the house with a beautiful garden and lush landscaping. All I can say is Thank you! Thank you! You are what every host wishes to be!
