Two bedroom cabin with a cozy atmosphere. With all the amenities of home, including a two car garage, electric fire place, full kitchen , full bath, propane grill, screened in porch, all while sitting within a few feet of the Spring River.
The cabin is ideal for a family vacation, trout fishing trip, or a romantic getaway. This is a
fly fishermans paradise out your back door. The State and Federal Hatchery just a couple miles upstream, helping to make this property boast some of the best Trout fishing in the country.
Spring River is also famous for canoeing and kayaking, with local outfitters ready to
supply any of your boating needs.
Spring River Landing also, has freshwater water lakes, stocked with Bass, Crappie, and Catfish. Guest are responsible for any and all fishing license and tags.
This is a beautiful secluded getaway with instant river access. Two minutes from the couch to fishing on the river from the bank, wading or by canoe or kayak. Trout fishing is excellent or you can access any of several lakes for bass and bluegill. You never know what wildlife you'll see. We spotted a bald eagle patrolling the river several times. The house is comfortable and well appointed, all you need is food, drink and a few days to unwind.
From our very first interaction to our parting messages, the owner of this property was FANTASTIC! Always quick to respond and provide answers to any questions, our trip was nothing short of impressive. The property is even more gorgeous in person, and was immaculately cleaned! All of the furniture was clean and very comfortable. All of the basic items you need are in the cabin, from silverware and plates to napkins, a coffee maker, and basic household cleaners. A washer/dryer was a nice bonus; you can't beat coming home with a suitcase full of clean clothes!
Spring River is literally steps from the back door, and such a gorgeous sight to see while sipping your morning coffee/tea. One slight surprise...there is a train that runs on the opposite side of the Spring River, so if you are a light sleeper, it may wake you. I grew up in an area where I could hear trains nightly, so it was actually quite nostalgic and soothing to me.
There is plenty to do to keep busy on the property itself - visiting with the neighbors, fishing, or just relaxing on the screened-in porch. There is plenty of wildlife, so keep your eyes open for deer! If you decide you want to get out and explore more of the area, Mammoth Spring State Park is only a few short minutes away, as is Main Street. The State Park includes the spring, lake, hatchery, aquarium, etc. Main Street is lined with unique locally owned shops...we like to 'pick', and there was certainly plenty for us to look at! Fred's Fish House and Wood's Riverbend Restaurant are good dining options; the peanut butter pie (Fred's), fried squash, and chicken nachos (Wood's) were my favorite fare.
We had a great time, starting with a warm AR welcome, and will most certainly be back in the future!
We were entertaining a couple from back east. The house is right on the river, beautiful, and very clean It has screened porch to relax on and watch the river roll by. We had the added benefit of two crystal clear nights to see the Milky Way with the naked eye (no city light pollution). Just bring food and beverage and toiletries. Everything else is provided. Caught one trout in about 10 minutes of fishing from the bank. We found the property thru our outstanding trout fishing guide Mark at springriverfliesandguides.com. Thanks Mark and Bret. We'll be back.
We had a great time! None of us have a single complaint! The property is so beautiful! The owner is so friendly and very responsive! We will definitely be coming back!
On the river, screened in porch 10 feet from the water.
Comfortable furniture, nice bath room and kitchen, flat screen TV with cable.
Far enough away from neighbors to stay quite at night.
When floating on the river, cabin is just below the put in, nice place to stop on the way down.
Just below the hatchery, great fishing potential.
On Saturdays the river can turn into a "club" scene with floating DJ's and loud speakers.
No internet. Could also be seen as a Pro.
Weak cell signal, could text but not call or send data. Again could be a Pro.
Could not get to the river directly from the porch, too over grown.
We found this cabin to be very accommodating. With the river a few yards off the screened in porch, fishing is minutes away. Great for cooking & grilling. This is a beautiful, peaceful property, surrounded by abundant wildlife. We saw herons, a bald eagle, lots of birds & a deer swim across the river while we were there. You're definitely out in the country but just minutes from restaurants & supplies.
