Two bedroom cabin with a cozy atmosphere. With all the amenities of home, including a two car garage, electric fire place, full kitchen , full bath, propane grill, screened in porch, all while sitting within a few feet of the Spring River.
The cabin is ideal for a family vacation, trout fishing trip, or a romantic getaway. This is a
fly fishermans paradise out your back door. The State and Federal Hatchery just a couple miles upstream, helping to make this property boast some of the best Trout fishing in the country.
Spring River is also famous for canoeing and kayaking, with local outfitters ready to
supply any of your boating needs.
Spring River Landing also, has freshwater water lakes, stocked with Bass, Crappie, and Catfish. Guest are responsible for any and all fishing license and tags.
We highly recommend this property. Pictures do not do it justice. Every detail from the bath and kitchen towels to the kitchen supplies are in great shape. Everything is clean and well maintained. Great having a washer/dryer to clean our fishing clothes. Location on the river is fabulous with picture perfect views up and down. Lots of ON property trails to walk or go to the bass lake just 15 minute walk away. Solitude was great but there are trains that pass several times a day across the river. Town, and about 4 good restaurants are only 12 minutes away. We recommend La Pastoral Bistro as well as Fred's Fish House. We plan to return!
The home is located within a large development that, to date, only has five or so houses in it. The rest of the property is undeveloped and in pristine condition. Upon entering the property, you need to drive a mile or so down to the river to enter the rental property. The rental house is the third house along the riverfront. It is very quiet, except for the occasional train across the river. The accommodations were as advertised. The house is very well stocked. There is no WiFi in the house, but there is satellite tv. The beds were very comfortable and the house was very clean. Access to the river is right out the back porch. Wading directly in front of the house is difficult but walking a short distance upstream takes you to some excellent trout wading water.
This is a beautiful secluded getaway with instant river access. Two minutes from the couch to fishing on the river from the bank, wading or by canoe or kayak. Trout fishing is excellent or you can access any of several lakes for bass and bluegill. You never know what wildlife you'll see. We spotted a bald eagle patrolling the river several times. The house is comfortable and well appointed, all you need is food, drink and a few days to unwind.
From our very first interaction to our parting messages, the owner of this property was FANTASTIC! Always quick to respond and provide answers to any questions, our trip was nothing short of impressive. The property is even more gorgeous in person, and was immaculately cleaned! All of the furniture was clean and very comfortable. All of the basic items you need are in the cabin, from silverware and plates to napkins, a coffee maker, and basic household cleaners. A washer/dryer was a nice bonus; you can't beat coming home with a suitcase full of clean clothes!
Spring River is literally steps from the back door, and such a gorgeous sight to see while sipping your morning coffee/tea. One slight surprise...there is a train that runs on the opposite side of the Spring River, so if you are a light sleeper, it may wake you. I grew up in an area where I could hear trains nightly, so it was actually quite nostalgic and soothing to me.
There is plenty to do to keep busy on the property itself - visiting with the neighbors, fishing, or just relaxing on the screened-in porch. There is plenty of wildlife, so keep your eyes open for deer! If you decide you want to get out and explore more of the area, Mammoth Spring State Park is only a few short minutes away, as is Main Street. The State Park includes the spring, lake, hatchery, aquarium, etc. Main Street is lined with unique locally owned shops...we like to 'pick', and there was certainly plenty for us to look at! Fred's Fish House and Wood's Riverbend Restaurant are good dining options; the peanut butter pie (Fred's), fried squash, and chicken nachos (Wood's) were my favorite fare.
We had a great time, starting with a warm AR welcome, and will most certainly be back in the future!
We were entertaining a couple from back east. The house is right on the river, beautiful, and very clean It has screened porch to relax on and watch the river roll by. We had the added benefit of two crystal clear nights to see the Milky Way with the naked eye (no city light pollution). Just bring food and beverage and toiletries. Everything else is provided. Caught one trout in about 10 minutes of fishing from the bank. We found the property thru our outstanding trout fishing guide Mark at springriverfliesandguides.com. Thanks Mark and Bret. We'll be back.
We had a great time! None of us have a single complaint! The property is so beautiful! The owner is so friendly and very responsive! We will definitely be coming back!
