Description

Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday home in Old Seminole Heights - The Hiawatha House

Located In Tampa's Coolest And Most Central Neighborhood, Completely Renovated!

Two houses on one property, a 1928 Craftsman Bungalow (2 beds 2 baths) with a detached 1 bedroom 1 bathroom cottage with full kitchen, professionally designed and furnished, luxury with old world charm awaits. Big front porch for sipping coffee or tea and reading the news paper but the outdoor space is all about the back garden. Built in furniture, outdoor kitchen, fire pit, tropical landscaping. Tall ceilings throughout, Apple TV, Washer/Dryer, huge master bathroom overlooking lush tropical backyard space. Comfort is King in this historical home! Each building is completely detached and there are no shared walls or shared amenities.

NO expense was spared while furnishing the home with unique and brand new mid century style pieces, the highest quality linens and towels made with real Egyptian cottons, original art pieces, an extremely functional and welcoming kitchen with all the tools you would need to be a home chef, 2 generous bathrooms and two FULL size beds in the 2nd bedroom for kids or group travelers. The mattresses are brand new and considered some of the best reviewed in the world. Apple TV with Netflix and high speed WiFi will allow you to entertain yourself or work from home.

Seminole Heights is Tampa's greatest up and coming neighborhood, and is exciting the "foodie" scene on a national stage, with recent mentions in Travel and Leisure, Money Magazine and beyond. It's an extremely exciting place to be for foodies, craft beer enthusiasts and artists, as well as families with a taste for the extraordinary! Walk to Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo, America's #1 rated Zoo for kids. Epps park and the Hillsborough River are also a short walk, and eateries, cafes, bakeries, vintage shops and more are all a short walk away.

Between myself and my manager Kim, we will strive to be sure you are completely comfortable and happy, that you have everything you need and more, and will be available for you should you have any questions or concerns.

About Jeff Curtis

I'm an avid traveler, real estate broker, musician and family man. I enjoy cooking and food culture, the arts, my Tampa sports teams, fishing, golfing and living the good life with my beautiful better half.

I was born and raised in Tampa, Fl, and lived the first 30 years of my life there. I moved to Venice Beach in Los Angeles, CA, in 2012. I frequently visit home, and this property is the home I lived in for the last 8 years of my Tampa residency. There's a fine chance I will move into this home once again, so now's your chance to visit before it's too late !! :)

I believe that traveling is more than just a destination. It's a journey, it's a way to meet new and interesting people and to see the world through other's eyes. Comfort and knowledge are equally as important! Staying in my home will hopefully allow you to see my beloved city somewhat through my eyes. I welcome dialogue and would absolutely love to make suggestions and recommendations as wanted. I want everyone to enjoy thoroughly their time in my home, and in my home city, Tampa Bay, Florida.

Jeff Curtis purchased this house in 2004

Why Jeff Curtis chose Tampa

This property is "the one" for many reasons! The history on Tampa is much more rich than one may think. This 1928 Craftsman Bungalow plus matching cottage, if only walls could speak! Many of the original charms still exist, including the original 1928 pine floors, which have been meticulously restored to their natural beauty. Archways, tall ceilings and crown moldings, high baseboards will make you feel like you've taken a trip back into time, while absolutely NO expense was spared while furnishing the home with unique mid century pieces, the highest quality linens and towels made with real Egyptian cottons, original art pieces, an extremely functional and welcoming kitchen with all the tools you would need to be a home chef, 2 generous bathrooms and two FULL size beds in the 2nd bedroom for kids or group travelers. The mattresses are brand new and considered some of the best reviewed in the world. Apple TV with Netflix and high speed WiFi will allow you to entertain yourself or work from home.

As previously mentioned, Seminole Heights is definitely Tampa's greatest up and coming neighborhood, and is exciting the foodie scene on a national stage, with recent mentions in Travel and Leisure, Money Magazine and beyond. It's an extremely exciting place to be for foodies, craft beer enthusiasts and artists, as well as families with a taste for the extraordinary!

Between myself and Kim (my helper), we will strive to be sure you are completely comfortable and happy, that you have everything you need and more, and will be available for you should you have any questions or concerns.

What makes this house unique

One unique benefit is the central location. Literally just a 10-15 minute drive from :

USF (Univesity of South Florida)

Busch Gardens

Ybor City

Tampa Convention Center

Tampa Museum of Art

Tampa International Airport

Clearwater Beach

St. Pete Beach

Moffitt Cancer Center

And just over the bridge are world renowned beaches Clearwater, St. Pete, Fort DeSoto, John's Pass, Reddington, and more.

Maybe you'll be lucky enough to visit during one of the communities "Porch Parties" and host and visit front porches of fellow bungalow dwellers, or wander down to peaceful Epps Park, a short walk from the house to the Hillsborough River.

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL

  • 5 of 5

This was such a beautiful home and a blessing , my fathers hip surgery went great and it just so happened we were there when Matthew hit our city , the owner went above and beyond to check on us and allowed us to stay a longer length of time until the storm passed! We would definitely rent again and there is a wonderful coffee shop ok walking distance that I went to every day 😏🤓

Thank you so much! It couldn't have worked out better !

Nice house!

  • 4 of 5

A nice home, with all the basic needs, comfortable for big families... Our only suggestion is a fumigation to get rid of all unwanted insects.

Owner's Response: Hi there and so sorry you had a bad experience with insects. We definitely have a routine fumigation, but we can't completely control the insects, and it is Florida in super rainy season. Sounds like you were still able to enjoy the property, and we will be calling our pest company right away. Jeff

The Seminole Heights property was extremley well kept and very clean

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Seminole Heights property during our 2016 Shriners Convention and were extremely please with our choice. The versatility of the two living areas was like having two homes in one. The location gave us easy access to all our activities held at the Tampa convention center and historic Ybor City.

The homes were very well kept, but if I were to rate the best part of our stay, it would have to be the owners pleasant and welcoming personality. Even at a distance he went over, and above to insure that our stay was perfect, Jeff, Job Well Done!

Thanks again!

Excellent Tampa Rental!!

  • 5 of 5

Safe to say this was the perfect rental for our family vacation to Tampa! The booking process was a breeze. Jeff was very friendly and very quick to respond to questions we had about the property. The description of the property was accurate and left no unwanted surprises. From the moment we arrived we felt very comfortable. The house was perfect for our party, which included my wife and I, our two small children (3 y/o and 1 y/o), and my parents. My parents took the cottage to have their own space and we took the main house. Both were plenty spacious. We loved all that the house had to offer including comfortable beds, soft sheets and towels (which smelled incredibly fresh and clean!!), apple TV/netflix, and the great back patio!! I especially enjoyed the various surfing magazines and books located in the house! This was a perfect location to access all that Tampa and the surrounding areas had to offer. We enjoyed the access to downtown, the beaches (A little bit of a drive. Took us about 40 mins with traffic to get to Clearwater beach), the Zoo, various breweries (Tampa has a ton!), and the aquarium. The kids especially loved the Tampa children's museum! It was also a great, central location for my sisters to drive to visit us. They both live in the Tampa area, but on opposite sides of the city and this location basically split the difference. Overall, I thought our stay was excellent, would recommend this property to anyone wanting to visit the Tampa area, and would not hesitate to book this property again! Thanks to Jeff and his manager Kim for providing us with this great opportunity!

Short drive to beaches as well, ranging from 20 minutes to 45 minutes. Tampa Bay holds some of the nation's top rated beaches!
