About the property

Located In Tampa's Coolest And Most Central Neighborhood, Completely Renovated!

Two houses on one property, a 1928 Craftsman Bungalow (2 beds 2 baths) with a detached 1 bedroom 1 bathroom cottage with full kitchen, professionally designed and furnished, luxury with old world charm awaits. Big front porch for sipping coffee or tea and reading the news paper but the outdoor space is all about the back garden. Built in furniture, outdoor kitchen, fire pit, tropical landscaping. Tall ceilings throughout, Apple TV, Washer/Dryer, huge master bathroom overlooking lush tropical backyard space. Comfort is King in this historical home! Each building is completely detached and there are no shared walls or shared amenities.

NO expense was spared while furnishing the home with unique and brand new mid century style pieces, the highest quality linens and towels made with real Egyptian cottons, original art pieces, an extremely functional and welcoming kitchen with all the tools you would need to be a home chef, 2 generous bathrooms and two FULL size beds in the 2nd bedroom for kids or group travelers. The mattresses are brand new and considered some of the best reviewed in the world. Apple TV with Netflix and high speed WiFi will allow you to entertain yourself or work from home.

Seminole Heights is Tampa's greatest up and coming neighborhood, and is exciting the "foodie" scene on a national stage, with recent mentions in Travel and Leisure, Money Magazine and beyond. It's an extremely exciting place to be for foodies, craft beer enthusiasts and artists, as well as families with a taste for the extraordinary! Walk to Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo, America's #1 rated Zoo for kids. Epps park and the Hillsborough River are also a short walk, and eateries, cafes, bakeries, vintage shops and more are all a short walk away.

Between myself and my manager Kim, we will strive to be sure you are completely comfortable and happy, that you have everything you need and more, and will be available for you should you have any questions or concerns.

About Jeff Curtis

I'm an avid traveler, real estate broker, musician and family man. I enjoy cooking and food culture, the arts, my Tampa sports teams, fishing, golfing and living the good life with my beautiful better half.

I was born and raised in Tampa, Fl, and lived the first 30 years of my life there. I moved to Venice Beach in Los Angeles, CA, in 2012. I frequently visit home, and this property is the home I lived in for the last 8 years of my Tampa residency. There's a fine chance I will move into this home once again, so now's your chance to visit before it's too late !! :)

I believe that traveling is more than just a destination. It's a journey, it's a way to meet new and interesting people and to see the world through other's eyes. Comfort and knowledge are equally as important! Staying in my home will hopefully allow you to see my beloved city somewhat through my eyes. I welcome dialogue and would absolutely love to make suggestions and recommendations as wanted. I want everyone to enjoy thoroughly their time in my home, and in my home city, Tampa Bay, Florida.

Jeff Curtis purchased this house in 2004

Why Jeff Curtis chose Old Seminole Heights

This property is "the one" for many reasons! The history on Tampa is much more rich than one may think. This 1928 Craftsman Bungalow plus matching cottage, if only walls could speak! Many of the original charms still exist, including the original 1928 pine floors, which have been meticulously restored to their natural beauty. Archways, tall ceilings and crown moldings, high baseboards will make you feel like you've taken a trip back into time, while absolutely NO expense was spared while furnishing the home with unique mid century pieces, the highest quality linens and towels made with real Egyptian cottons, original art pieces, an extremely functional and welcoming kitchen with all the tools you would need to be a home chef, 2 generous bathrooms and two FULL size beds in the 2nd bedroom for kids or group travelers. The mattresses are brand new and considered some of the best reviewed in the world. Apple TV with Netflix and high speed WiFi will allow you to entertain yourself or work from home.

As previously mentioned, Seminole Heights is definitely Tampa's greatest up and coming neighborhood, and is exciting the foodie scene on a national stage, with recent mentions in Travel and Leisure, Money Magazine and beyond. It's an extremely exciting place to be for foodies, craft beer enthusiasts and artists, as well as families with a taste for the extraordinary!

Between myself and Kim (my helper), we will strive to be sure you are completely comfortable and happy, that you have everything you need and more, and will be available for you should you have any questions or concerns.

Excellent house but FYI...

  • 5 of 5

The house was in good shape - clean and comfortable - with plenty of room. Well stocked, and pretty central, the neighborhood is up and coming and very hipster eclectic which was just fine for us. The only things I think renters should know are very basic:

1. The house is older and updated but there are few outlets and some don't seem to work well so make sure you're on top of your charger situation especially if you have multiple devices or want to be able to charge in bed.

2. The interior doors looked like they all had original hardware which was super cute and charming but we couldn't find a way to lock them so bathrooms were used with trust. =) And the master bathroom door was a louvered bifold with no locking mechanism at all. Most of us were fine with this and worked around it accordingly, but there were a couple of people who were uncomfortable so I figure it's worth mentioning.

Overall the house, owner, and location were all great and we would stay again.

Very nice home, trendy area, clean well amended, great host who kept in constant contact.

  • 5 of 5

Nice, comfortable home in trendy area, tried 4 restaurants in area, impressed with all. Our host kept in contact in very timely manner. The back "cottage" worked out well as a separate space for our older son.

PEACEFUL HOME

  • 5 of 5

This home was big, roomy and in a peaceful neighborhood! Everything was great! It was filled with plenty of towels, blankets, and everything that we needed for a group of 10 people. I would definitely stay here again. We loved it! We were able to enjoy sitting on the porch and playing games in the back yard! Jeff showed us great hospitality and kept in touch checking to see if we needed anything.

Great house, but in a sketchy part of town...

  • 4 of 5

We were pleased with the house and it’s proximity to Busch Gardens. We didn’t care for the area... I had the impression that it was a suburb type neighborhood, but it was more inner city with a lot of closed businesses and very dirty streets.

Owner's Response: I’m sorry to hear you use the word “Sketchy” about Seminole Heights. The neighborhood isn’t for everyone. If you’re looking for big commercial shopping plazas with chain restaraunts like TGI Friday’s and Applebee’s, Seminole Heights is not for you. We are a small up-and-coming rejuvenating community created by a neighborhood full of young and old entrepreneurs, restauranteers, craft breweries, café and shop owners, a colorful and eclectic group of people from all races joining together to live and work in an area that doesn’t look like “Anytown USA”. Seminole Heights is indeed in the city center, so if you are looking for cookie cutter USA suburbia, you may be disappointed. Sorry if my description of the location was not clear, I will edit it now for future guests. Thanks for staying!

Quaint house, quiet neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

We booked this home because it had the separate cottage as we had a larger family and wanted some members to have their own space. It was perfect. The backyard is very nice with a great deck, gas BBQ and table. The kitchen, although small, worked for prep and then we could eat outside. The master bathroom was very large and the shower was great. The bathrooms were all clean, as was the house and fridge. The beds were comfortable. We had just enough space for all of us. Jeff was a very big help with his suggestions on where to eat, where to go and what to do. His advice on the Gulf Coast Beaches was invaluable. He was friendly and extremely prompt in replying to us with his suggestions or when we needed something delivered to the house. If you have children and plan on going to the Lowry Park Zoo, the home is within walking distance, but parking is free, so you can drive. Incredible zoo and highly recommended.

Great place for a multifamilystay. We enjoyed the spacious bungalow as well as the outdoor seating.

  • 5 of 5

The kitchen was well outfitted and made making breakfast at the house easy. The property is located in an interesting neighborhood with lots of food options other than chains.
