Beautiful cozy little place. Love the "oldness" of the home and all the little touches that have been kept original to make it feel like grandma's. Peaceful place. Sue is AMAZING.!!! Super friendly. Excellent breakfast and evening snacks. Very at home and welcoming feeling from the time you arrive until the time you leave.
Thank you so much! We enjoyed having you stay, and hope you can come back again- maybe when it's a little warmer to truly enjoy the grounds and the fishing and hiking. I've just had the trails dozed by the creek and am very excited about the possibilities. I'm glad we were able to keep the vintage feel when we did the recent remodel of the floors and bathroom. Thank you so much for your kind words!
Nice country setting with old charm
Sue our host was attentive and friendly with a good breakfast.
Property is dated and in bad need of updating along with the amenities! Linens, towels, etc. need replacing, with more attention to detail of maintenance.
Again great country spot but needs updating!
I am so glad you enjoyed our lovely country setting, and I appreciate your feedback regarding the condition of the property. A vintage accommodation is not to everyone's taste, as there are some aspects of such a structure that are not ideal or modern, but also comprise part of the charm. I'm sorry that it was not up to your expectations. Thank you so much for taking the time to give us feedback to make future stays more pleasurable.
Given that we had operated the property for a little over 2 years, we looked at this cottage again with new eyes. We weighed what could be improved against keeping the vintage cozy feel we fell in love with in this cottage. We have just completed renovations, replacing the linoleum with wood plank flooring. This warmed things up considerably. We removed the permanent, interior shutters that originally graced the kitchen windows. Much more light! Finally, we renovated the bathroom and replaced the tub with a tiled shower with free-standing glass enclosure. We tiled the bathroom counter, painted, and replaced the plywood door with one more in character with the rest of the house. We love the results and hope you will too!
Had a great time at The Cottages on Mill Creek celebrating my husbands and my 40th birthdays! Despite record rain fall while we were there we had a wonderful time and Sue continued to ask us if we needed anything. The property is very pretty and the dogs, donkeys and miniature horses are so cute and fun to feed. The fishing was also an added bonus and great fun for the kids. Sue served delicious warm breakfast each morning as well which was really nice!
