Beautiful Home 20 Minutes Outside Of Bracebridge, Canoe, Kayak, Or Just Relax!
About Lori Verbeek
It was my dream to sell my family home of 32 years in Winona, Ontario and purchase a "cottagey" home in a "cottagey" environment. Plus purchase another home in Florida to visit in the winter. My dream was finally realized a few years ago. It is my wish that you can come and get as much enjoyment, relaxation and joy out of my home as I do. This is really paradise!
Lori Verbeek purchased this House in 2014
Why Lori Verbeek chose Bracebridge
I love this property as it has a cottage feel. Yet all the comforts of a house.
What makes this House unique
The generator helps you feel safe in case of power outages. My home is extremely peaceful in the winter months. Snow is plowed by the town, driveway is well maintained. All wheel drive is recommended in winter in Bracebridge.

Home Away From Home
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. It was neat, clean, inviting and quite cosy! It was well appointed and including such items as toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, dishwasher pods for the week and all the kitchen necessities was a really nice touch.
Although a bit of a trek to and from the dock, the fact the owner has stairs built into the ground and a handrail going all the way down is a huge plus! It's worth the trek down and up at least once a day. No better place to enjoy a glass of wine, read a book, fish off the dock or simply "be".
The dock is a good size and having the two Muskoka chairs on the dock was a nice touch. The large deck with the table and chairs for outside dining and two more Muskoka chairs for simply sitting and relaxing was also an added bonus.
Honestly, the only suggestion I have is the living room needs another lamp or two. We found the light on the ceiling fan too bright, but the two lights on the walls were not quite enough. Adding a pair of matching lamps for reading purposes would be beneficial.
Thank you to our host; we would definitely book this property again and would recommend it to others!!!"
Love this home!!
Lori was an awesome host! She wasn't even in the country but kept communication as if she was. The house has it's own private dock which we enjoyed and a cosy kitchen and living room area. Such a beautiful get away right after our wedding in gravenhurst. Thank you Lori look forward to coming back With family !!
property was lovely and private
Very nice atmosphere, warm and cozy, light-filled and spacious
Overall ...a nice, peaceful, relaxing place with a couple nice bonuses
We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The dock was long which lead to very deep water. You couldn't just go from the shore though. It was very peaceful and quiet on the dock and area.
The water has some color to it, as most do in the area, but fairly warm and you can canoe each way for quite a while
The cottage was nicely decorated. It was a few minutes off the main road but You got use to it and is about 15 minutes to gravenhurst
We made use of the canoe and wood burning fireplace, which was nice
Their is a king bed in the master bedroom, overlooking the back deck but the bed will need to be replaced in the next little while
In the 2nd bedroom, it has patio doors to a side deck with a double bed
The bathroom has a nice size tub
Internet and Netflix was a nice addition
We did see the owner a few times
Overall.... great, peaceful , quiet and relaxing, with so nice bonuses
The King bed doesn't need to be replaced, there is a down topper on it. I am going to take it now. :)
It was a pleasure to meet you!
Thanks for your feedback.
Was there in August with my two boys. We had a great time. The cottage was very clean. Long walk to the dock so bring running shoes. The patio out back was lovely and shaded for afternoon reading!
A great option for enjoying the Muskoka countryside while also enjoying some home comforts.
We had a great time at Lori's cabin in the woods. Our son really enjoyed access to the river and use of the kayak. It's quite a steep climb down but we managed fine and are not very fit ! Sitting on the balcony felt like being in a tree house with views down to the river and we very much enjoyed sitting there for breakfast or with a beer in the evening. It's also only a 15 minute drive to the pretty down of Bracebridge and we drove as far as Parry Sound in only 90 minutes. The cabin is clean and comfortable rather than luxurious but it has all you need for a holiday let. At the time we stayed Lori was living in the basement but we did not really see her other than when we did a laundry. We would certainly consider this again when next in this part of Canada.
I am glad you enjoyed your stay. It was a pleasure to meet your family!
Hope to see you again when you are in the neighborhood!!
