Quiet, clean, lovely.

  • 4 of 5

Lilly's On The Lake was a nice, quiet Lakeside Resort with 6 cabins. Our cabin was just right for the four of us, and was a good place to use as our home base while visiting the Upper Peninsula and all that it has to offer. The front desk was very helpful with helping us plan what to do and what to see for the four days that we were going to be in the up. It was very relaxing and even took out the rowboat!

Great getaway, great time.

Absolutely no issues and would stay here again. Never used a kayak before, but thanks to the ones that were available on the property we are now looking at getting our own.

Everything was clean, and the area was in a nice central location to many of the area attractions.

I would defenetly stay here again.

Inaccurate depiction of home

Upon arriving there when we walked in there was a very musty smell. It was very damp and mildewy feeling. The bathroom smelt like sewage. There were ants everywhere; even in the fridge. Because my mom and I drove to enjoy the UP, we spent 6 hours in the car driving here, and when we got here we were not only disappointed, but we were too exhausted to turn around in the middle of the night and drive another 6 hours. We could not figure out how to shut the windows. We made dinner wherein in the morning there were ants in the fridge on our food. I slept with an mosquito go away band on due to the flies that we could not get rid of. Ants were over the kitchen and even in the coffee cup in the morning. We asked the owner to refund us our money as we stayed for literally only hours and she did not. VERY disappointed as this ruined the only vacation I took for the year.

We loved our time here! Small but perfect for our tiny family. Customer service was awesome, the lake was great for swimming and kayaking and we were able to drive everywhere. Nice central location. Perfect for our first trip to the UP!! We loved it

Great home base!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, 10 month son and I spent 3 nights and it was wonderful! The location is smack in the middle of the UP and perfect for day trips to Marquette, Munising and the Falls. The property is well kept, beautiful and very homey. We stayed in the 3 bedroom cabin and it was just the right size for a roaming little one! it was well furnished and cozy! It was starting to really become fall so we didn't use the outdoor activities other then the fire pit but in the summer this would be ideal and there are plenty of things to keep busy! Jeni was very prompt and accommodating if we had questions! We are so happy we found this place and look forward to a return next summer! Many thanks!

I gave it 2 stars because of the lake views. My husband & I were very disappointed in this place. We stayed from Weds. afternoon to Sun morning in cabin 3. Weds afternoon was the last time we saw someone in the office the whole time we were there. The place was dirty & stinky. We found a long piece of someones dental floss stuck in the dirty matted carpet the 1st day there, so we knew it couldn't have been cleaned too well. There was 2 bedrooms there, one with a full bed, & the other with 2 twin beds. The one with the full bed was so uncomfortable, & stinky we couldn't stand to stay in it. It stunk like a gym locker, like old sweaty clothes. We ended staying in the 2 twin beds (happy anniversary to us). There was not a comfortable place to sit in the place, the couch was broken down, holey, & stinky, & you can only sit for so long on a kitchen chair before its uncomfortable. The antique refrigerator froze everything we brought (except the liquor:) & when we finally saw the owner Sat. afternoon & told him, he kinda brushed us off with a comment about there was probably a control somewhere to turn it down, & then he took off fishing. Curtis was centrally located to all the things we wanted to do in the UP, & is a charming little town. We found out there are tons of rentals up there. We looked at one on the same lake (a house) that was 10xs bigger, & much cleaner that we will go to nnexttime. We paid way too much a night for off-season rates & we felt ripped off. The owner of the house we looked at said there rates were 1/2 what we paid & most of the places were the same. They couldn't believe the other place could charge so much. Unfortunately, the place was booked, or we would have moved. Of all the places my husband & I have stayed at over the yrs, this is the 1st time I have ever given a poor review. If we could have found another place for us and our dog, we would have left right away. We even debated trying to look at the other empty cabins there to see if they were any better, but again, no one seemed to be around. (that should have been a clue)

We just tried to make the best of our little vacation & were gone as much as possible.
