Lilac Ridge is a comfortable home in a private country setting that sits on a gentle knoll in Hartwick. There are scenic views surrounding this area that include breathtaking sunrises to watch off the porch. The home features a covered front porch and an open side deck – both with comfortable outside seating. This home sits on 1.5 acres with a large open area behind the house. The charming décor is French Country and features several interesting collectibles.
NOTE: A cat and dog resides here in the off-season.
I grew up locally and moved to Cooperstown in 2010 to begin my job as the Assistant Marketing Director at the Clark Sports Center.
Emily Kishbaugh purchased this house in 2013
I purchased this property in the fall of 2013. It was already set up as a summer rental and included everything I had dreamed of. It has scenic views with breathtaking sunrises, country decor, privacy and close enough to everything I needed in Cooperstown.
Great older home for our fantastic week (and final week) of baseball at Cooperstown Dreams Park. Super quiet and only 15 minutes from the baseball fields using Emily's back road directions. Be sure to learn the route during the day first... Kids loved the Wii games. Plenty of room for 2 families without feeling like you are encroaching on each others space. Comfy beds.. great kitchen, nice front and back deck and a perfect yard for star gazing.
Don't plan to use the house WIFI for work purposes.. (not Emily's fault). WIFI in Cooperstown is spotty. Enjoy the time away from your computer!
Cooperstown Diner - near Baseball Hall of Fame. Scrumptious Milkshakes. It's tiny with only one waitress and one chef.
Maskot's (across from Dreams Park)- good pizza, super slow service. Don't go when all the kids are there
DiMaggio's (also across from Dreams Park)- yummy Caesar salad
If we have the opportunity to visit again, we'd definitely return to Lilac Ridge.
This was a great week! Unlike many rentals, this one had basics. Four, sugar, condiments, blender, coffee maker AND K-CUP coffee (We're from Seattle we need good coffee - having a K-CUP machine was awesome!).
We slept a lot of people - nice master with a Queendownstairs with newer washer/dryer and detergent. Three bedrooms upstairs...two Queens, two doubles and a twin.
Very clean - very homey and quaint.
The only downside was slow internet with limited data....not much to be done about that in the middle of the country. SO - unplug, unwind and enjoy the baseball!
Lilac Ridge was a well kept and charming place to stay! You feel a part of history in this 1800's farm house. The beautiful rolling hills and landscape provide ample solitude and wildlife while still being an easy 15-20 minute drive to The Dreams Park. Emily provided us with a warm welcome and was readily available if we needed anything. Highly recommend staying at Lilac Ridge.
We stayed in this house last week while one of our sons was playing at the Cooperstown Dreams tournament. Quite simply, we loved this place. Far enough from everything to be isolated and relax but a quick 15 minute drive to get back to CDP for games. Plenty of space, great yard and a beautiful surrounding. Emily (the owner) was easy to work with and left a great run for our dog to enjoy. Plus, she left lemonade and cookies for our arrival. If my youngest son plays here in a few years, we will try to stay here again. The only thing to know, especially for those who need to stay electronically connected, the cell service is spotty at best. Also, the wifi situation wasn't the best. Other than those two things, this is a fantastic place to stay.
Last week my family and I stayed at the house while my son played at Cooperstown Dreams Park. The house was very clean and beautiful and was situated a very short and easy drive to the ball fields (the owner left us shortcut directions that we followed). After long days at the ball fields, it was nice to get away from it all and relax at the residence, situated amongst the beautiful country landscape. When we arrived we were greeted with a fresh pitcher of lemonade, freshly baked cookies, and a bottle of local beer. I don't even know what to say as this was very unexpected but much appreciated. The owner also made sure that our dogs had a comfortable trip as well by installing a cable for both of them to be able to run in the large yard. There were fresh linens on the beds, fresh towels (bath and hand towels) and wash cloths in all bathrooms, everything you would need in terms of supplies and even condiments in the refrigerator. There was also a computer to use, Direct TV, and a Wii for the kids to play. What else can I say except thank you for all of your hospitality!!!
