Lovely Home

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time here. The house was very clean. We appreciated a pet friendly home that was also a clean home! We had enough beds for everyone, and they were comfortable. The house was a lot of fun for the kids, and they could go right out back to play at the water's edge. On the same block is super convenient, walkable access to lots of sea food. The owners were easy to communicate with. The layout is interesting. Two downstairs bedrooms, with the jack and jill bathroom in between was where the adults slept. Upstairs one of the "bedrooms" is the open space when you come upstairs, and has a big bed, as well as a pullout couch. It's suitable for older kids, teenagers, people who don't mind a room without a door. Our older kids loved it. Then there is a bedroom, and you walk through that bedroom to get to the last bedroom. That worked well for our younger kids.

Charming, quaint and cozy

  • 4 of 5

We so loved the charm of the home. The location was perfect. Near enough to walk to town or the beach. Even though it sleeps 17...that is really a stretch unless you have families with children. We made it work. Also 2 bathrooms for 17 people is really not adequate. A half bath would be useful. I'm sorry to point out a few negatives, but I feel feedback is important. The kitchen was lacking a can opener that worked! Minor detail, but so needed. The kitchen faucet needs replacing as it leaks all the time. For some reason the kitchen breaker flipped. We did not know this until the next morning when internet was off, frig, and coffee makers not working. No idea when or why. Amy was helpful when I had to call. We so enjoyed the storefront windows. Some of our families did poses in them and it was super fun and cute. Happy to share those if interested for advertising a fun place to stay. People would stop and do a double take! The back door key lock box is broken and no key there. It would have been nice to have a second key. All in all it was a great stay!

Owner's Response: Previous guests must have disconnected the upstairs tv, sorry we didn't notice before your stay. The downstairs tv was working fine when we checked it after your stay. We are glad you enjoyed your time at the Bandon Historic River House.
