This house is fully equipped. Comfortable furniture and beds and charming decor! The kitchen had everything we needed and more. Great dining area. Loved being in walking distance to old town Bandon.

Nice home for over 100 years old

  • 3 of 5

House was clean and in good repair. Just a few things didn’t work. The DVD player was broken and the WiFi quit after awhile.. Just a few other minor things that could be fixed.

Owner's Response: No doubt internet can be sketchy during our Bandon storms, but otherwise presents no problems for our guests.

Great location for relaxing NYE

  • 4 of 5

This house has the historical charm you would expect. It is on the water, great for watching small boats and local fishermen. All kinds of small restaurants and shops are within walking distance. Also, it is a very short drive to get public beach access, and lots of golf options.

The main floor has an open feel, lots of seating, fireplace, big table and a well stocked kitchen with plenty of room for multiple cooks at a time. We spent most of our time together in this space, reading, playing board games or toasting the New Year.

There are two bedrooms on the main floor, that share a bathroom. Then there is a long stairway to the second floor suite with a king bed, sitting area with TV, queen bed and day bed, and one full bathroom. The lay out is a little unorthodox, because there is little privacy between sleeping areas. You need to walk through the other bedrooms to use the bathroom. We didn't need all the beds, so it worked fine. But if you were all family, the upstairs could be very comfortable with all the beds used.

Owners were responsive and friendly, and there was even a dog station with water bowl and dog towels for sandy paws! The whole house was very clean, and it was easy to locate the lights and heat. We really enjoyed our weekend getaway, thank you!

Excellent house and location

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful Christmas holiday in this house. It comfortably slept eight of us and was great for hosting several more for the holiday meal.

Very clean and comfortable.

Unique and awesome!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at the Bandon Historic River House. The house is full of charm and has lots of room for guests. We really enjoyed learning the history of the former business that has been converted to a unique rental home. We definitely will recommend this home to other families.

A stunning home, wonderful location, and beautiful experience!

  • 5 of 5

I was born in Langlois, Oregon, not far from this Bandon, Oregon historic home. I'm intimately familiar with the town of Bandon, but still it felt like seeing the town with fresh eyes when we stayed in this historic river house. We learned more of Bandon's history, and thoroughly enjoyed walking to restaurants, cafes, shops, Second Street Gallery, and the farmer's market a few doors down. My siblings and I and our children gathered at the home and created truly wonderful memories around a bonfire in the backyard, throwing rocks into the river, watching the birds throughout the day and looking for sea lions. We watched hopefully for orcas, but perhaps another time we'll have better luck. The house had all we could possibly need and felt like a temporary home from the start. The owners were lovely to work with and we had no issues at all! We'll hope to stay here again one day!

After purchasing property outside of Bandon and subsequently spending greater amounts of time in the area we seized the opportunity to purchase the River House when it became available.
