Description

Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday apartment in Amsterdam Oud-West - Monumental Top Location Apt.

All you could possibly want to see in Amsterdam is a short walk away.

Elegant second floor apartment in direct vicinity of the Concertgebouw, Museum square and the Vondelpark.

This apartment is located on the first floor of a townhouse of 1900 in a residential district known as the Museumkwartier (the Museumquarter).

The hall and staircase are typical of a house of this period, with a staircase leading to the front door of the apartment, which has it's own entrance opening into the main room and kitchen.

The apartment is decorated with antiques, art and has a lovely retro feel to it due to decorative accents from the 70-ties.

There is a queensize bed that sleeps two very comfortably and a sofa bed with a wonderful latex and wool topmatras for extra comfort, in the living area that sleeps two as well.

The bedroom and living can be seperated by a sliding door for privacy.

There is one bathroom with a tub, a shower and a toilet.

A second toilet is located in the hallway and can be used by the ones sleeping on the sofa bed.

After a good nights sleep you can make yourselfs a lovely Nespresso coffee and head off to explore the city.

Everything that makes Amsterdam worth a visit is just outside the door: the worldfamous Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh and Stedelijk Museum, the high end shoppingstreet PC Hooftstraat, the Vondelpark and Leidseplein. The canals are also very nearby and the artisan area's De Pijp and De Jordaan are not too far either.

Our host Barbara will welcome you and make sure everything is in order for a wonderful stay. She will meet you again for check out.

We would love to welcome you. Contact us any time for more information.

Wonderful apartment in a great neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

Looking for a beautiful, spotless, well appointed apartment with every amenity in an upscale neighborhood near the museums? You found the place. This apartment looks exactly as it does in the photos. Great location, within walking distance to all the key sights. My husband and I had a wonderful time. Barbara was friendly, helpful and a great resource. She always responded to my emails quickly. Everything worked out seamlessly. No issues, no snags. The delicious bakery across the street has breakfast pasteries, sandwiches and wonderful breads and treats. Coming from NY we did not expect it would be closed on Sundays. We loved our stay and if we return this lovely apartment would be our first choice. Thanks Barbara hope to see you again.

Spacious, perfectly located apartment in the museum district of Amsterdam

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely, spacious apartment perfectly situated in the museum district of Amsterdam. Barbara promptly met us at the apartment and we were grateful for the wine, fruit and other goodies that she left for us. She provided us with guidebooks, maps and a good orientation to the city. Her restaurant recommendations were perfect. The only negative of the apartment is that the bathroom sink and shower drains were sluggish. We would expect that the attentive owners will remedy this for the next guest.

Excellent location and overall wonderful experience

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I rented this apartment for a week while visiting Amsterdam. The location is perfect. Major museums are within 10 min walking. There is a large park within 2 minutes. And a bakery just around the corner. The only downside from my prospective (not a shopper) is that it is also very close to some high-end shopping. :-)

The apartment is light and airy with high ceilings and large windows. The kitchen is well equipped. And street noise is not an issue when sleeping with windows open.

Barbara met us at the door when we arrived and provided a thorough overview of things and answered any questions we had.

Exploring Amsterdam we found we rarely needed to use public transportation or taxis. Everything was in easy walking distance. With sunny weather Amsterdam is a city made for walking tours.

We would definitely go back to this one!

Beautiful apartment with everything you need!

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I stayed here just last weekend for a short trip to Amsterdam - the photos don't do it justice! The apartment is lovely; spacious, clean and bright with everything a traveler could need. It's exactly the kind of apartment I would choose to live in as well. The owner's family lives on the other floors, which meant it was safe and quiet though we never saw them. Great location close to the Vondelpark and museums - you almost don't need to venture out of the neighborhood! Cute little balcony to people-watch and enjoy the great weather we had during our stay. The washing machine was a big help too after a week of traveling, but the drying function isn't great so we air-dried our clothes on racks. I'd recommend leaving yourself at least 36 hours to dry heavier/thicker clothes like jeans, if you choose to do laundry. The bathroom is stocked with extra toiletries as well if you forget something.

Barbara was a terrific host - so friendly and welcoming! She offered recommendations on local restaurants (which we followed, thanks Barbara!) and directions to nearby points of interest and the grocery store, along with maps and travel books. And it was very thoughtful of her to leave us some wine, fresh fruit and snacks as a welcome gift. By far and away my best experience renting thus far.

We would absolutely recommend this apartment to anyone traveling to Amsterdam and will definitely look to stay here again if/when we return ourselves!

Wonderful experience

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was everything we had hoped it to be. Beautiful interior, outfitted with everything one could need, as well as lots of nice extras like wine and fruit which were very thoughtful and most enjoyed after a long flight. Barbara, our host welcomed us and helped orient us to the apartment and surrounding area. We'd definitely stay again if we have the opportunity!

Delightful apartment

  • 5 of 5

Lived up to our expectations. Barbara, was extremely helpful, very friendly and informative,an asset to the property. Providing wine, fruit and other food stuffs is a definite plus. Lots of space in all rooms, and location ideal. Would certainlyrecommend the apartment to friends. Can't think of any complaints, have stayed in a number of homeaway apartments in different countries, this was the best.
