Glamping With All the Comforts of Home!

  • 4 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay in this charmingly decorated cabin. The peaceful front porch was a serene pleasure both day and night, and we took advantage of the fire pit to enjoy a satisfying blaze one night. With my husband and son loving to cook together, we shared several excellent meals in the well stocked kitchen. The cabin is well designed for both private spaces and great group gatherings, depending on whether you're feeling sociable or wanting a bit of solitude.

As we happily discovered, nearby Mansfield also has a topnotch brewpub, Yorkholo.

We stayed here while exploring Corning and Elmira, New York, drawn by the Tiffany Mosaic Exhibit at the Corning Museum of Glass. The drive between the cabin and Corning/Elmira was gorgeous and the roads were easy to navigate, especially with GPS. The Corning Museum of Glass was surprisingly fascinating and very well done.

There were a few minor irritations that kept us from giving this a 5 star rating. Only a couple of the windows had screens on them, so we could not really open the house up fully to take advantage of the cool fall air. Cooking as much as we did, the need to separate the trash in specific and somewhat complicated ways was confusing, leaving us wondering what to do with items that weren't obviously burnable, compostable, or recyclable. Lastly, a few medium weight blankets available would have been beneficial: the heavy comforters were perfect for cold winter nights, but too much for this time of year, while the sheets weren't quite enough. To be fair, I did not contact the Smiths about this last issue as we didn't think about it until we were heading to bed each night, at which point it wasn't enough of an issue to bother them about so late.

Overall, we had a relaxing and enjoyable family getaway staying at this cabin and I would definitely recommend it to others.

Great lodge

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a long weekend over the Labor Day holiday. The lodge was very adequate for our family of nine adults. The wrap around porch was a great place to spend our mornings before heading out to a hike.

The owners checked in with us to make sure all was well. They made sure that we had everything that we needed.

Our Honeymoon Was Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

So I randomly chose a destination for our honeymoon, found the lodge on a website, booked a room as it was 20-30 minutes away from everything we wanted to do! The Smith's are just wonderful. We sat and chatted with them and quickly became friends. Your breakfast will satisfy like no other and the scenery is beyond breathtaking.

Couldn't be happier!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful nestled in the Endless Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Great location midway between Corning NY and Wellsboro PA, both of which are beautiful historic towns offering many tourist attractions including museums, historic sites, music concerts, and gorgeous state parks for outdoor activities including hiking, boating, biking, skiing, hunting, and fishing. The Lodge at Whitetail Hollow offers excellent professional service at their beautifully scenic bed & breakfast. Shelly and Steve are extremely warm and welcoming hosts, providing a cozy and comfortable environment during your stay. Would definitely recommend!
