Note to Travelers! I had a block on May weeks that I've just removed, house is available until 6/3.
*** NOT AVAILABLE 6/3 TO 10/1 *** This property rents through Outer Banks Blue ONLY during the Summer season, "High Season" rates are $3425 to $4350 a week, property #bb001, the "Tarvalier". I do not rent summer dates on VRBO.
I've just listed it on VRBO to rent open "offseason" dates. I do not rent to groups under 25 years old, sorry! Please ask for quote as that's just the base rate... I charge more for large groups. I designed and built the home, and am a local owner, so let me know if you have any questions. We also have another vacation rental, vrbo #719651, the "SeaWitch", a remodeled 1960's beach road cottage.
tl:dr - Pool only open for May and October dates, not heated. Dogs are fine, decks open to fenced yard. No leash law on beach, but dogs must be under control. Centrally located in Duck, short walk to everything in town. 4 masters, 3 are almost identical layout. Please contact me for quote before requesting booking!!!
Walk to dinner, stores, the jazz festival, and everything else Duck has to offer. I built the Tarvalier on top of the dune at the north end of town, and designed it to take advantage of the 360 degree views from the 4th story deck and tower room. The boardwalk that runs the length of the town ends right across the street from Cook Drive, making this the most convenient location you can find that still has great views.
While the walk to the beach takes less than five minutes, i also provide a stretched six person golf cart to make trips even easier. I have a friend that lets people staying at the house park right in his driveway next to the access.
Another goal of the house design is to give everyone their own space, no matter how large the group. With a tower room, a mid level tv room with 60" lcd and surround sound, 4th level deck, 3rd level screen porch, ground level game room with 70" tv and surround sound , pool table and bar, not to mention the 4 masters, three with doors to decks, you won't feel crowded no matter how many people you bring.
I put the hot tub on the 3rd level deck to enjoy the views and make star gazing easy, and keep it near the great room so parents can easily keep an eye on kids using it.
The Tarvalier is very dog friendly, designed with the porch to fenced yard access inside the gate, so even if you let your fur babies out on the third or second floor decks, they have access to the yard, and Duck's beaches are the only ones around that let you have well behaved dogs off leash year round 24hrs a day.
The kitchen is extremely well equipped for large groups, with double sinks, double dishwashers, double refrigerators, and an over-sized stove with a full oven and auxiliary oven. Two coffeemakers, plenty of dishes, utensils, and everything else i could think of to accommodate groups such the yoga retreats that come each fall.
Come enjoy the off season in Duck! No crowds, walk to everything, and plenty of entertainment at the house should the weather turn bad - all three common area tvs are hooked up to hi definition "Dish" network with a whole house dvr system. Two of the tvs are perfect for movies with surround sound systems, or watch the big game while playing pool and hanging out at the bar. There's nothing like relaxing in the tower during stormy weather with a glass of wine and a book for those who like a slower pace.
Please feel free to ask me anything, and i hope you'll come enjoy everything i've done to make the Tarvalier a one of a kind getaway.
