Joe purchased this lodge in 2014
I remodeled my family guest house into the ultimate vacation getaway! It is located across the lake from our farm so you have total privacy. I welcome clean responsible guests when not being used by my family and relatives. It is very special and a perfect getaway place to relax in quiet comfort. I rent it out for retirement income.
Just outside the Chippewa National Forest, lots of hunting areas, use of my boat and canoe to fish hunt or explore Rice Lake. There are 4 bikes for short rides.
My wife and I needed a weekend away and this was the perfect place. I rented a boat from the owner, Joe, and fished everyday while my wife reclined with the windows open reading her books. Very clean and full of amenities. Great fishing with a ton of large mouth bass. Cannot wait to go back. We visited in the fall but are planning a winter getaway as well. Great flat screen tv with high speed internet for the entertainment junkies in the family(me). Very nice owner, Joe, who lives close by if you need anything but definitely gives privacy. A wonderful place!
The property was very clean, well stocked with anything you might need (or have forgotten), and very comfortable. It was perfect for our ice fishing weekend. Had a very cozy feeling. Joe was very helpful making sure we were all setup upon check in. Flexible check-in time. No complaints at all! Exactly like you'd want and expect in a quality rental. Great little trip up north.
What a great stay. The house was well equipped with anything you would need. The beds were extra comfortable. The owner went out of his way to make sure all of our needs were taken care of. The house was right on the lake for easy access to fishing. Thanks for a great stay.
Quaint, very clean, very livable, comfortable, quiet on the lake cabin get a away. Well furnished with everything one would reasonably need in the kitchen. Joe (landlord) met us as planned with good orientation to the property and answered our questions. I would definately recommend this property to friends and relatives!
Nice amenities, great isolated bay with great Bass fishing, close enough to Cohasset and Grand Rapids for supplies and dining and far enough away for some quiet. Very clean and well thought out lodging. Nice, manageable row boat and canoe, both accepting a small outboard if you like, otherwise the bay is the right size for rowing/paddling.
Hate to share this find! Several Great Lakes to fish and boy did we catch them! Joe and Mary could market their customer service skills, warm, friendly, sincere, respectful of your privacy yet willing and available if you need their help! The Lodge was perfect-great kitchen to work in, extremely clean, great fish cleaning areas. Wouldn't change a thing except maybe prolonging our next stay.
