Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday cottage in Marblemount - Bungalow On the River

Two bedrooms, 3 bunk beds and sleeper chair. Hide-a-way in livingroom & futon

Relaxation and tranquility at the gateway to north cascades national park—under two hours from Seattle! Small cabin feel with riverfront to explore.

World-class fishing, kayaking, floating and bird watching right along the cascade river. Magnificent hiking in the north cascades, near many trailheads including top-rated, beautiful cascade pass.

House sits above the river about 100 yards from the river.

This cozy riverfront house comfortably hosts two to nine adults in two bedrooms plus a sofa bed in the living room and a den/bedroom equipped with 3 bunk beds, sleep chair and a full sized futon. Some floor space for the non particular adventurous souls. Plenty of riverfront to put up tents for a peaceful night sleep.

The house is fully kid equipped with pack-n-play, high-chair, toys, bottles/bowls and gates.

We also have a luxury trailer on the property for rent if you have bigger parties and need more space, sleeps 10. The trailer sits on the far side of the property, if it happens to be booked consecutively with your booking - you won't even know they are there.

We do have space in the garage if it is needed for bikes, snowmobiles, boats or motorcycles

Great house close to town!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay here! The house and particularly the wood stove were a welcome sight after an especially rainy hike back down from Hidden Lake. The house is close to the trailhead (around 10-15 minutes away). It's also minutes from the Marblemount Cafe (which was delicious) and the rest of the restaurants/the ranger station in Marblemount. Mary was very accommodating and responsive. She even let us park one of our cars in the driveway a day earlier than our booking.

My stay at the Marblemount house was amazing!!

  • 5 of 5

The house fit our group of 4 perfectly, with more than enough space and cooking area. The property is very close to the river which we enjoyed during our stay. The surrounding area is amazing with many many outdoor activities. I would recommend this property and will stay again when I am in the area.

Great Location

  • 5 of 5

If you are coming to the park to hike, you couldn't find a more convenient place to stay. It's on the road to Cascade Pass, Hidden Lake, and Lookout Mountain. The other direction will take you directly into the park where there are many other hikes. The house is comfortable and quiet. Everything you need is there. You can walk down to your own private spot on the river and watch the salmon. We had a great week!

Rustic Home

  • 5 of 5

The property is well appointed and functional. More so than most homes you could rent. Its also a great central location for day trips into the Park. The two bedroom beds are very comfortable.

However, it is very old and dated. The bunk bed room tends to stay very cold and the single bathroom can be restrictive for many guests.

We spent most of our time out.

Location, Location, Location - and hospitality

  • 5 of 5

You can't beat the location of this place when you want to visit the North Cascades as there is very little that is closer or more accessible than Marblemount. We had 7 adults and 2 babies, and everyone had a bed, including my 4 month old grandson, who slept in the pack-n-play provided in the house. My 2 year old grandson enjoyed the toys that were there as well. So needless to say this is a perfect place for families. We appreciated the well stocked kitchen with nearly everything you need to cook, including a good variety of spices. My son cooked his favorite chicken recipe on the nice new grill with 4 different spices and BBQ sauce. By the way, there is a lifetime supply of ketchup there, so no need to bring any condiments. Wait until you get there for that stuff, and get what you need at the store in Marblemount as needed. We had dinner on the new patio in front of the house every night in the shade of the trees around the house. They also had surprisingly fast WIFI in the home. My kids watched a couple of Netflix movies at night with no streaming problems on the new TV. You can tell they are investing in the home with new TV, couch, flooring, and patio.

Mary, the owner, is extremely responsive with any questions and suggestions almost immediately after I send the email. Karen, the local property manager, is very helpful and responsive as well. We were there on some hot days for the Pacific NW, and our luck the A/C stopped working our first night there, which is not a huge deal as it gets below 60 every night, even on the warmest days. I sent an email to Mary letting her know the AC was out, and the next morning Karen was there with fans for us, which is really all we needed and preferable for me, as I would rather have the windows open anyway. Karen also brought some local peaches and a bottle of wine for our trouble with the A/C. The only negatives I could mention is it is an older house, and not a place where you hang out all day in a luxury resort. Old cabinets and flooring in the kitchen, and an old dishwasher, but again all perfectly functional. It's a perfect place to go to the beautiful nearby mountains for a day hike or rafting, and come to a fully functioning home for dinner and sleep.

There is also a nice new trailer on the grounds with very nice beds that sleeps 4 people easily, so you could house a pretty good size crew between the house and the trailer. The river on the property is pretty cool.

Good and comfortable

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay. The facility was clean and tidy. It was very relaxing for the two of us. Good proximity to Northern Cascades NP. Not too bad of a drive to the Mount Baker area. Only one issue-strong wood smoke smell due to wood stove. My husband never did get use to it, but I did. Very comfortable bed. It was also great having a washer and drier at our disposal-especially after muddy hikes. All in all it was a good place to stay.
