About this property

Beautifully restored Podere Consani lies in an idyllic setting amongst well-tended natural gardens, (lavender,roses, lemons and herbs) that lead into the adjacent olive groves, vineyard & woodland, in the hills between Lucca and the coast. It consists of 3 houses constructed in stone on the top of a small hill.
Casa Cherubino shares a swimming pool with one other cottage. The owners take great care to ensure guests are happy during their stay whilst respecting their privacy. They produce their own wine and olive oil.
Nature-lovers,painters and walkers alike cannot fail to enjoy the wonderful surroundings and lovely views and although Podere Consani is set in this oasis of peace, it is however only 15 minutes before the majestic walls of Lucca come into sight.
The house has all modern conveniences whilst maintaining its original Tuscan style and charm.
It is possible to have cooking lessons or have a meal prepared for you.
It is also possible to organize various types of massages at the house or in the garden.
One can rent bicycles to bike around this beautiful area or can be accompanied on a tour.

A beautiful place

A traditional property with a homely feel - Susan is very friendly and helpful who made a real effort to make us feel at home without being too intrusive. The location was the highlight, peaceful and green.

The house was well equipped, and beautifully, comfortably furnished, in the Tuscan style. eful,

Peaceful, whilst surrounded by a working farm... horses, dogs, vines! Hosts helpful and informative. Well stocked local supermarket and bakery ( 5 minutes drive) Lucca 20 minutes away, many surrounding interesting villages, Pisa and beaches easily accessible. Ideal for a calm stay, with points of interest , Whole week, of glorious weather allowed for meals al fresco every day!

What's not to like?

We had a lovely time in a beautiful place. The pictures are a pretty accurate representation of the villa, which is located at the top of a hill up a 2km winding road, amongst olive trees. The pool is welcome after time in the hot Tuscan sun and is very well looked after. Susan and her husband are really welcoming and always available for advice. Well located for Lucca, and pretty close to Pisa with easy access to more distance Florence and other Tuscan sites. Easy to book, and communication, direction, etc all very good. A real find and our first experience of HomeAway - 5 stars from me!!

A haven of peace and tranquility full of Tuscan charm

If you are looking to escape to a different world of peace and tranquility then you will find it at Podere Consani. We have just spent a wonderful week staying in Casa Cherubim and enjoyed it's rustic charm. Susan and family made us feel very welcome and gave us several tips on places to visit. The 2km drive up to the house and the roads around the surrounding hills were quite a challenge but the views are worth it. On our first evening Susan arranged for us to have a meal prepared for us. Their cook served us a delicious six course dinner sitting outside in the garden. The location is ideal for exploring Lucca from where you can reach Pisa and Florence by train.

Fantastico podere sulle colline lucchesi

Casa Cherubino è incantevole, su 2 piani e dotata di ogni confort; cucina con caminetto, soggiorno con divani, tv e caminetto, camera da letto, un grande bagno con finestra e sala da pranzo. All'esterno un grande spazio verde, curatissimo e la piscina. Il tavolo all'aperto e il barbecue. Per rilassarsi è semplicemente fantastico. Si vede Lucca dall'alto, raggiungibile 10 minuti d'auto. In primavera, con la fioritura, i cani e gli splendidi cavalli da corsa sembra di stare in paradiso!

I, Susan, came out to Italy in 1969 and instantly fell in love with it all - the hills, the historic cities, the food and the people. Having lived here ever since, my views haven't changed.
I married my husband Lelio and a few years later we bought Podere Consani and gradually restored it, making it the beautiful place it is today.

Why they chose this property

We were really lucky to find this beautiful property - 3 very old stone buildings on the top of a hill surrounded by flat land and with wonderful uninterrupted panoramic views - 360°. It is well known in the area due to the fact that it is quite unusual to find a property in the hills with so much flat land around it

What makes this property unique

The views and the surrounding land are what convinced us to choose Podere Consani. My husband specializes in restoring old properties and this was such a wonderful place to restore - a sympathetic restoration maintaining its historical integrity.
