|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
Walk out onto your private patio and watch the river flow by, eagles fly by, and boats and kayaks cruise by. This condo is available year around, if you would rather leaf peak, golf at Coffee Mill up on the bluffs over looking the river, ski at the Coffee Mill, fish, ice fish, or just relax. Look up Wabasha to see what fun events are happening during the year.
The condo has a queen in the private bedroom. The queen futon in the living area lets you wake up looking at the beauty of the river. The bathroom has a Jacuzzi shower. There is a full kitchen and outdoor grill on the patio, or there are restaurants and shopping within walking distance. Slippery's restaurant, home of the grumpy old men, is right next door. In addition to the river, visit the National Eagle Center and Lark Toys, or travel along the river to more quaint communities.
The beach is sandy, there is a fire pit and a family beach right next to the condo.
Fresh bedding and towels, kitchen utensils, and beach chairs are are included. (The condo is occupied when not rented.)
My wife and I stayed at this cozy condo for our anniversary. This was $40.00 less expensive that a similar condo being offered by the historic hotel in town, and had the amenities that a condo offered so we booked it straight away. Entering from the river side, the kind of tricky sliding glass door lock posed an initial challenge, but once we got the hang of it, it was OK. The deck had a BBQ grill, table and 4 chairs, and some nice decorations just steps from the docks and the Mississippi River. The kitchen was well equipped, including full stove/oven, a Kuerig coffee maker with 3 coffees (more would have been great!), a complimentary bottle of wine, and a nice view of the river. The attached living area included a fireplace (we couldn't get it to work but that may have been our fault), futon, mini counter with two stools, cushioned chair with footstool and flat screen TV. The bathroom had a full tub & shower, complete with towels and soaps and a hair dryer. The bedroom had a very comfortable queen bed and space to hang clothes (we chose not to for such a short trip). The condo was very clean and well maintained and we felt very comfortable!
The condo is really 4 blocks from he heart of downtown but it's about 50 feet from Slippery's, the tavern made famous in the movie Grumpy Old Men. There is even a paved private outside staircase from the group of condos to Slippery's, making it very convenient to go out for lunch or dinner. Parking was plentiful and the few neighbors in other condos were friendly.
It was very fun watching river barges and tugs going up river as well as other smaller fishing boats. We even saw an eagle from the deck - an added bonus after visiting the National Eagle Center earlier in the day. Although the condos was a bit more expensive than other rooms in the historic hotel in town, we felt we got more for the price and really enjoyed our stay! We would recommend this condo to our family or friends should they be looking for lodging in Wabasha!
Really enjoyed our stay in Wabasha, and Cindy's condo was a great choice for the two of us. Very comfortable space (especially the bed!), full kitchen (but be sure to bring your own K-cups for the coffee maker), wonderful deck with a great view of the river for morning coffee and evening cocktails, and full line-up of television channels for after sunset. Working with Cindy was easy - she was very responsive. And the neighbors were all very welcoming - be sure to say "hi" to Roy from next door!
While there, we visited nearby Whitewater and Frontenac State Parks, as well as the Whitewater Wildlife Management Area - all had lovely fall colors and abundant wildlife. Charming downtown Wabasha is just a couple of blocks away from the condo, with several dining options and many shops, and Slippery's restaurant is right next door. We especially enjoyed the National Eagle Center. The town of Wabasha goes all out for "Septoberfest" with wonderful fall decorations, music under the bridge, and many visitors filling the streets. Even got to shop at a Book Fair hosted by the local library while there.
Lovely weekend! Thanks so much!
My wife and I stayed at this property two nights for our little anniversary getaway and absolutely loved it! The quaint little condo had everything we needed, is nicely decorated, well kept and was just perfect for the two of us. Can't beat the location right on the water and being next to Slippery's worked out perfect for us. Cindy was great to work with, answered all of our questions promptly and did her best to satisfy all of our request. We defiantly plan to return!
I needed a relaxing place to entertain my girlfriends who flew into town from Atlanta and Milwaukee. We had an ideal location at this condo! It was relaxing and the condo had everything we needed for 3 women! The kitchen was well-stocked (although we didn't use it). The girls reported that the bed was comfortable. I slept on the futon in the living room and I slept great!
We drove over to Pepin on Saturday night and did a nice sunset sailboat ride. We spent time at the Eagle Center and walking the adorable streets! SeptOberfest was happening so live music downtown. The weekend couldn't have been more perfect! Awesome food and drinks right next door at Slippery's!
We sat on the deck for hours and enjoyed the view of the river!
Thanks for sharing your home with us. I wouldn't hesitate to rent again! The communication from the owner was wonderful. Fast responses as I set this up as a last minute weekend!
