COME BASK IN THE LIGHT OF THE MOUNTAIN at... Michael's Mystic Mountain Retreat!
This spacious three bedroom, two bathroom chalet is located six miles north of central Mount Shasta. It's panoramic views of Mount Shasta, Shastina and Black Butte, are seen from nearly every room in the house. Located on 35 acres, the home is on a beautiful natural meadow that backs up to a forest of tall pines. In addition to having all the modern conveniences, the home has two large decks, one off the master bedroom and the other wraps around the front and side with a hot tub, both facing the awesome mountain view. The house is easily large enough for one or two families yet cozy enough for a romantic getaway. Small spiritual group retreats up to 12 people inquire with owner by phone or email for special rates.
The large master suite opens out onto a large deck with more views of the mountain. It offers a full bath, walk in closet and a queen-size log canopy bed. You will open your eyes to the magic of the Mount Shasta view.
In addition the home has two loft ares, one is a billiard room for your fun and pleasure. There are family games, books and cards. The other loft is a pillow room with a futon.
All this seclusion and yet just a 10 min drive to the quaint downtown Mount Shasta shops and restaurants. Your chalet is only one and a half miles off Highway 5. It's 15 minutes to water sports at Lake Shastina and Lake Siskiyou and 15 minutes to winter skiing on the mountain.
There are dirt roads accessing the house, in winter months a 4 wheel drive vehicle is required.
Hike the mountain, the crags, the caverns and local waterfalls. Explore sacred sights and tune into the high vibration of Mother Nature all under the magic of the mountain.
We had a wonderful vacation here, the view of Mt. Shasta and the magic it spells is just amazing. Very peaceful, although you can hear the humming of the freeway on some days. Beautiful master bedroom with amazing views and a super comfortable bed. Loved to have coffee on the deck in the morning, but stargazing at night is just as inspiring. We enjoyed the Jacuzzi and the gas fire-pit. The two bedrooms downstairs are just as lovely, the room with the bunk beds can accommodate four kids and looks super fun (we had 2 kids sleeping there). Nice pool billiard table. Really loved this place. Hoping to return - I'm curious how it is in winter!
The name says it all! This house is clean, well kept, well stocked, and the energy is amazing. You can feel the silence and the magic in the air. The view of the Mountain truly is spectacular. The only downside is the sleeper futon, not the most comfortable, but wouldn't not stay here just because of that. I look forward to staying here again.
MMMR was a great place for our family! It was very clean, perfectly stocked, with truly amazing views of Mount Shasta. Karen was very helpful and prompt with anything we needed. The hot tub at sunset is a must! We had fun exploring the property with the kids. Great location; close enough to what we needed and far enough not to know! We would stay again!
The chalet is in a beautiful remote meadow with stunning views of Mt. Shasta. The house is very well maintained and has everything that any group from one family to two or three couples would need. We were there over Christmas and were able to have a great dinner for twelve with plenty of room. The family made ample use of the pool table and the hot tub and enjoyed just walking through the woods around the house. The house is very convenient to the town of Mt. Shasta and the town of Weed and to Mt. Shasta itself. We enjoyed several of the excellent Mt. Shasta restaurants during our stay and we also had a fantastic day at Panther Meadows, 6,000 feet up the side of Mt. Shasta with some of the group doing back country skiing and others just sledding and hiking. The owner was very pleasant to work with and we would definitely recommend this rental to anyone at any time of the year.
The only thing that we would caution about is that the owner sends very detailed instructions about how to find the house and you need to pay close attention to the instructions. She warns you that it is much better to arrive for the first time in the daylight and she isn't kidding. We arrived under the worst of conditions, namely a snowy night in Mid-December and even with her excellent instructions we couldn't find the house. We eventually stopped at one of the two other houses on the "road" and the friendly neighbors actually got in their car and led us to the house. It turned out that we had actually gotten to within about 50 yards of the house but couldn't see it in the dark and turned around just a few feet to soon. It is this great combination of a remote cabin in the wilderness (nearest neighbor is at least 1/4 mile away) and all of the comforts of a beautiful home.
My best friends and I spent three nights at Michael's Mystic Mountain Retreat, and it was amazing. The home is lovely and comfortable, and very well-stocked with everything from paper goods to towels, pots and pans to coffee. The home was very clean, communication with the owner was timely and pleasant, and not only will I readily recommend this property to others, I look forward to going back myself! It's within a reasonable drive from Stewart Mineral Springs, and a number of hiking trails, including Burney Falls. The view of Mount Shasta from the living room and front deck is awe-inspiring and the property is beautiful and peaceful. I can't wait to go back again, maybe during the winter-time!
Our group that stayed here was a group of old friends, a mix of couples and singles. This was a great place to come together and reconnect. The local contact was immediately responsive when we needed propane for the BBQ. The house was every bit as nice as represented. And the view!!! Sunrise, sunset, or midday, I think this property has one of the most magnificent views of the mountain I have seen. There are lots of activities in the surrounding area, but we didn't get to as many of them as we had planned and instead enjoyed the lounge chairs on the large wrap-around deck taking in that view. Definitely recommend this to anyone wanting either a relaxing vacation or a home base from which to have many adventures. It is really perfect if you have a mixed group of adventurers and relaxers.
The seclusion of being on 35 acres makes you feel like you are far from everything, but you are actually only minutes from grocery shopping, restaurants, and many other activities.
