We currently live in Malden, MA with 3 boys. I am from MA and my husband is from Oregon so we love the outdoor lifestyle in Maine. We purchased the property in 2013 to enjoy with our family and friends and have really enjoyed becoming part of the Bethel community. It is a really wonderful place to ski, snowboard, fish, hike, golf, and so much more. We have loved the area in all 4 seasons.
Erica Palm purchased this cabin in 2013
We loved the location of our property because it offered a quick 10 minute ride to the mountain, beautiful views of the slopes and the surrounding mountains from every window, and proximity to Grafton Notch State Park. The area is really quiet and peaceful. We have come to know all the neighbors and created a nice community on the street.
The home is rustic with a huge stone wood fireplace, barn doors to the pantry and first floor bath, wide plank pine floors (warmed by radiant heat), a large outdoor deck and grill, fire pit in the yard, a tree house and more. But, the home is also very luxurious with marble counters, stainless steel appliances, modern baths, a hot tub, comfortable furnishings and many touches that feel warm and cozy.
Our vacation at this property was wonderful. The home is inviting, beautiful and warm. We had plenty of space for 4 kids and 4 adults. Only a short ride to restaurants and the mountain. We had a very relaxing time at this lovely home and look forward to coming back next year.
Me, my husband and our dogs had a wonderful time during our first visit to Maine at the end of August. We debated renting another cabin in this area which was priced a little lower but lacked some of the upgrades Erika's cabin advertised. Now we both agree the price was well worth the upgrades. We loved the kitchen stove, granite counters, and sink/faucet. The decor made the place have a cozy cabin feel. I found a Maine magazine in our bedroom and it felt like this cabin was taken right fro the pictures!
The view from our bedroom and the deck were amazing and at night it was so peacefully quiet.
The location was convenient to plenty of waterfalls, hiking trails and town for restaurants and shopping. We easily drove to the coast for lobster one day and then enjoyed it again at the cabin when we brought live lobsters back with us. For dessert we enjoyed homemade fruit pies and Whoopie pies from the "on your honor" bakery just a mile up the road.
The basement was large enough for us to get a few workouts in plus a few loads of laundry in the front loading washing machine.
We appreciated the king bed as it seems the majority of VRBO's only offer queen beds.
Also thanks for allowing dogs! It means so much to us to travel with them.
Erika was a delight to work with and always prompt with her replies!
We got a great value and had a wonderful trip!
My friends and I stayed at this cabin mid August. This cabin is in a great location if you are looking to get off the beaten path. Close scenic drive to Grafton Notch State Park, which has great hikes and water holes. Make sure you try the donuts and breakfast down the block at Sunday River Brewing Company. Made a lot of great memories with great friends on our extended weekend. If you are thinking about visiting Maine or the North-East I would recommend checking out this cabin. Thank you Erica
We had a wonderful week in Newry, ME. The house was very comfortable, with lots of room, and nicely decorated. A great place to relax. It's very close to several incredible waterfalls with great places to swim or just relax in a natural pool carved in the rocks by thousands of years of water erosion. Horseback riding within a 1/2 hour and the quaint town of Bethel about 10 minutes away. Amazing sushi at a very nice Asian restaurant in Bethel. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Maine and hope to visit again soon.
Erica's house is great. Really beautifully done with lots of space for a party of 7. We enjoyed the views from the deck and the well set up kitchen. There are lots of local hiking trails. Bethel is relatively quiet. We enjoyed a canoeing trip down the river with the family and there are lots of restaurants. The good food store is also a great find.
My friends and I stayed at Erica's house for a long 4th of July weekend and it was wonderful. The house was exactly as described/pictured. It was the perfect fit for the group of 8 of us. Outside of food and drinks, the house had everything you could possibly need. It is on a beautiful lot overlooking the mountain, not too far (approx. 10-15 minute drive) from fun things in town including the Sunday River Brewery and outdoor adventures like kayaking and tubing on the river. Its also less than 2 hours from Portland if you want to take a fun day trip. We had so much fun lounging around the beautiful house, cooking in the HUGE kitchen, sitting by the fireplace and enjoying the large deck, fire pit and hot tub. Erica was incredibly helpful and responsive and the entire process from start to finish was nice and easy. I highly recommend this house and I would definitely book this house again if I ever make another trip to Maine!
