Single and wishing I was in my amazing condo but need to pay down debt. Jealous of anyone staying there!
Owner/Manager purchased this apartment in 2013
Its quiet, close to everything and all transit. You can get to north shore or any other part of Vancouver. HIstory and culture, best restaurants, shopping and sights. Near groceries, etc. I have great reviews for a reason!
Please research the area which has social issues which can be disturbing to some guests.
The condo was nice and clean and we mostly enjoyed staying there. The location is great and within walking distance of Chinatown, Gastown, and the downtown core. There's a great market within a couple of blocks and we were able to find everything that we needed to prepare meals. The furnishings are comfortable and the place felt very cozy. It was also very quiet and we were hardly able to even hear the neighbors. It was also very useful to have WIFI available so we could do a little research about Vancouver and the surrounding area. We would have rated it higher than we have except for the following.
*The condo is very close to Gastown and Chinatown but to get to either of those one has to walk through several blocks of drug addicts, winos and indigents. We were approached numerous times and there was a heavy police and ambulance presence. We weren't particularly bothered but we're sure that there are some who would have a tough time negotiating the streets especially at night.
*We assumed that since the condo building is relatively new (2009) that it would be air conditioned. We were wrong. Compounding the discomfort on a hot day is the fact that there are no windows that open. There is a deck with access through a sliding door but since the deck communicates with other units you can't really leave it open at night or when you're not at home. Even so the condo would be more livable if there was a larger fan available that one could place near the sliding door to cool things off.
*We stayed for five days and four nights and had to buy toilet paper since we were left only two rolls. It would be nice if more was supplied and also some Kleenex - which wasn't.
*The bed is serviceable but it was furnished with heavier winter-like sheets and when the temperature gets up into the high 80's that gets a bit uncomfortable.
*It would have been nice to have a microwave with which to heat and reheat things especially since we chose the condo so we could cook at home.
*Our landlord was pretty good at responding to our emails BEFORE we stayed at the condo- usually the same day. Afterward she didn't respond to our emails and we had to text her a couple of times to find out about our damage deposit. The damage deposit return took over a week to arrive.
*We have a mid-size car and it barely fit into the parking space. If you're driving a larger car or an SUV expect to all enter and exit through only one side.
What an incredible vacation rental! Coordinating key pick-up/drop off and check-in with Hannah in advance was super easy, and when we arrived in Vancouver, we found the loft very accessible from the Stadium/Chinatown Skytrain stop. The loft is in a gorgeous building, and the apartment itself was spotless and beautifully decorated. We loved having access to a well-appointed kitchen so that we could prepare some of our meals "at home," and the gorgeous outdoor patio space was a lovely place to enjoy a meal and a glass of wine. The location is close to everything: restaurants, cafes, boutiques, a great yoga studio, etc., and a very short walk to the seawall. We would stay here again in a heartbeat - what a gem!
Owner was helpful , apartment exactly like photos. Excellent security.
Lots of natural light from the private courtyard which made the place feel very spacious.
Great interior design, really comfortable bed, one of the best I've slept in
Well equipped with all you need to cook
Location is interesting - it's a pretty grungy area, seems like it's on the brink of gentrification. Amount of homeless/mentally ill/ druggies/beggars all over the streets in this neighbourhood was very confronting.
Lots of great trendy places to eat and shop nearby, and easy walk to main part of town
This property is conveniently located to shopping, restaurants and everything downtown. It is also close to public transportation, which we used every day. The neighborhood is a mix of professionals, tourists and many homeless. It's also super close to china town and gas town.
Hannah was very gracious in allowing us to drop off our luggage before check in so we could go out for some activities on our first day. Without being burdened with our luggage.
The patio was quite pleasant and the bed very comfortable. A microwave would be a great addition as well as some dish soap and detergent for the dishwasher.
This condo worked out nicely for two adults with s busy schedule. Thanks for sharing your home!!
The apartment was a great place for our first visit to Vancouver. Just as advertised, the apartment look and finishes are really nice, and was very clean. The owner kept in good communication to make sure the arrival was easy and timely. The underground parking was very convenient. Overall the location was excellent being close to Gastown and most other downtown attractions. We really appreciated the washer dryer. The bathroom with walk-in shower was really nice. The only detraction was the bed was noisy whenever either of us moved around at all. There was a nice selection of moderately priced restaurants and a grocery store within walking distance. We really loved visiting Stanley Park and the restaurants around English Bay. The aquarium in Stanley park was very nice. Capilano Suspension Bridge park was really beautiful if a little pricey. I would definitely recommend to friends and family.
