Overall, the place is great. Good location, nice view (although not quite the view of Columbus circle pictured in the photos). The grocery store on the ground floor is terrific, as is the gym in the basement. One issue we ran into was the inability to get anything delivered through mail or UPS/FedEx. The doormen run that part of it, and your name will not be in the system for them to check in any packages. It turns out this is an illegal sub-let (not that uncommon in the city, I guess) but for this building it means you may not be able to get any packages because they wont be able to "log them in" to their system which works based on name and your name will not be on the apartment. Other than that, just terrific, exactly what we were hoping for.
We enjoyed our stay in this I
Upper west side apartment. Located in a high rise 2 blocks from Lincoln Center, we were well located for access to the subway, restaurants and shopping ( 3 blocks.). The apartment was clean and roomy for up to 4 people, the beds comfortable, and the building had a gym and doorman. When we arrived, the unit was short on basic supplies, which we bought ourselves (I.e. Toilet paper, paper towels, a coffee pot.). However, about a week after our arrival, supplies were delivered, albeit after we bought them.
Amazing brand new apartment we got ! we really enjoyed our stay, building is amazing, everything was ready for us in the apartment, linens, iron, hairdryer, ustencils, glassware, ... Thanks for making our trip to NYC so great. Everything was perfect.
My family (2 parents, 2 12 year old boys) stayed here in September 2016 for a vacation month. This is a wonderful Upper West Side house, close to subway, restaurants, and groceries. I recommend it to anyone looking for a spacious, quiet HOME in a beautiful doorman building to serve as your base of operations for exploring New York. Read on for details.
Booking - Booking was easy. The owner calls each guest before finalizing booking to describe the property and get comfortable with the renters. This is a nice touch, and exactly what I would do if I were renting my home.
Arrival - The owner's son met us at the home to let us in, go over the house, and help us find our way around the neighborhood. This was very helpful, and we mostly stuck to her recommendations throughout the week. Nice touch.
The Home - Beautiful place. I can't stress enough that this is a HOME, not just a decorated rental property.
The house itself is very nice. Again, it's an apartment. . The place was very spacious, very nice, and very quiet.
Neighborhood - The house is located on a relatively quiet street, but is a short walk from lots of stuff. The neighborhood seems to be family oriented, based on who was in the street. Groceries are 2 minutes away. Restaurants are 3 minutes away (Bagel Express has the best bagels I've ever had). The subway is 6 minutes. (Lincoln Center). Cabs are easy, either right out front or half a block away.
In summary, if you are looking for a nice place right in the heart of Lincoln Center, this is the place. But if you want a large, quiet, home oasis to serve as your starting point for exploring New York, this is your spot.
Had the opportunity to stay at 2 apartments during my stay, and they were both great. They had everything we needed and were clean and bright. Host is very accommodating and available.
This apartment is truly a gem. The real American luxury rental as I was expecting. High design place. Well equipped, clean, and very quiet for the heart of New York City. The host made me feel welcome and was always available to make our stay one of the most memorable.
Full Fitness center, Dry Cleaning on site, Basketball court, Laundry, Supermarket, and lot more...
